Tried to install it anyway until I said it was the wrong way. Then they went bought a new door painted it and painted the window of the door and missed several spots around the glass because they were in a hurry as they messed up earlier. Then they reinstalled my storm door improperly and it won't shut on its own like it used to. After coming and and inspecting everything they told me it was immaculate. This company is a joke and should never be trusted for any work on a house. A child could have painted my door better than they did. I could have installed the door better than they could and I have never installed a door. It has been almost 2 months now and still no resolution to fixing the problems. I started reaching out to them and finally got a projected start date of late Sept. 2020 at the end of July, 2020. As we got into the middle and late August, I tried to reach out to them again to get a firmer start date. After numerous attempts by me they finally responded in the second week of September that they would not be able to follow through with the late September start date. I was told they could do the job next Spring! They stated that due to CoVid they had laid off half their work force! I understand that CoVid has created huge effects in our personal lives and economy. However, I noticed that other companies are responding and continuing to take on work. Ren-O-Paint's decision and late communication with me forced me to immediately search and find a company willing to take on my house painting. Fortunately, I was able to succeed finding someone and will get my house painted when I wanted it done and not to Ren-O-Paint's schedule. I regret having to give this negative review of Ren-O-Paint not keeping their commitments, but so it is! Despite the crisis, other companies are able to make commitments and keep them!

We actually decided to ask them to patch and repaint a wall where the paint had cracked due to roof leakage (since repaired) and they gave us a really reasonable bid for all of that. They did an excellent job taping everything off, cleaned up perfectly afterwards, both inside and out and John, Hernado and everyone else were friendly and professional. My basement flooded so I called Color & Arches using the HomeAdvisor site which lists this business…read moreas based in Lynnewood, WA and has a photo of Shawn Moynihan on the site. It also stated it was able to do the work I needed to include mounting my flat screen TV and some other handyman type jobs I needed done. My walls had just been painted, the drywall and insulation was in place and I had just had the basement floor sealed with a marble finish for $4300. All Shawn had to do was put in the baseboards and hang the doors. I was leaving for a week so I gave him a key since Color & Arches is licensed, bonded and insured. When I returned 10 days later, I was handed a bill for $2132 and the work was only partially done. He had also hired his son to move furniture (very little since I hadn't moved in completely) for 5 hours and also his wife for 7 hours. He claimed to have worked 25 hours but had installed less than 45 linear feet of baseboard. It just got worse from there. I had invested too much time to fire him so asked him to pick up the pace. He seemed to work best when I wasn't at home and would charge me for times when he would forget something and go to the hardware store to buy it. Eventually, I told him I no longer needed him to build a closet and he was angry. He plastered two small holes in a bedroom that had been used to mount a TV but used so much plaster that the entire wall now needs to be repainted. He was not asked to do any work in that room at all. He didn't cover the vent when he drywalled so I must now have my vents cleaned and my furnace serviced. He cut the baseboards on the basement floor and left a 21 inch gash on my newly stained and sealed floor. The baseboards are poorly jointed and painted and must be removed and redone. They are not sanded. The putty job is messy and amateurish. I gave him the half gallon of A-100 paint that the painters had used the month before to paint the walls of the small room he was working on (the room is only 10'x18'). He then bought an interior paint that was the same color but a different type and it didn't match. He proceeded to paint large areas of the room and hallway with it and then told me that he would paint the entire basement for a mere $40 an hour. There was caulk all over my floor and toxic caulk left on the floor that I had to clean up before my dog could get to it. He drilled holes in my living room wall to mount the TV and missed the studs. He misread the directions on the wall mount and couldn't mount it so he had to return the mount. Now, I have a dozen holes in my newly painted living room wall and an unmounted TV. And then things got shady... He had me pay him through Paypal. He asked me to pay him through "friends and family" to avoid the fee. I don't use Paypal so I didn't realize that meant that I PAY A FEE! He then told me that he wanted to do me a favor by avoiding a paper trail. I explained that I had no problem with a paper trail and I needed receipts for my taxes. He assured me that he was indeed bonded, licensed and insured but couldn't produce paperwork but referred me back to HomeAdvisor, Angie's List and Color & Arches. He then billed me for another 23 hours (we are now at 72 hours and we still aren't done! And he's hired his wife and another friend yet again and billed me for their work!) and I fired him. I research the address in Lynnewood to discover that it's his wife's home address. I called Vernon Lovelace, owner of Color&Arches, who stated that he only has an Angie's List account: he doesn't have a HomeAdvisor account. He had no idea why Shawn would be doing this! He is willing to come to my home, see the work and make things right! That's the last I heard from Vernon Lovelace. I did discover that Shawn Moynihan has never been a licensed contractor in Washington State: EVER. I called in to Washington State Department of Labor and Industry and reported it. I also had my locks changed. I am out thousands of dollars. I am out money I paid to Color & Arches (or Shawn Moynihan) and I still have to have my baseboards removed and reinstalled, my vents cleaned, my furnace serviced as well as have my entire basement painted and my floor repaired. I am also out $300 for replacing my locks. Color & Arches is licensed, bonded and insured but I haven't seen a dime and HomeAdvisor supposedly stands behind their contractors but I haven't seen that either (this is a also a "Don't use HomeAdvisor" review). I wouldn't hire this company. They hire unlicensed contractors that are working illegally on the side and they are turning a blind eye to it. They are not standing behind their company's name or reputation. There is something very disreputable going on here. And the whole time Shawn was in my home, I had to listen to him go on and on about what a good Christian he was!! Unbelievable!

CertaPro Painters Lacked in scrapping my house and areas they did scrapped they scrapped sideways…read morewhen my siding have groves so it damaged the wood. They did not prime my house which leads to paint seeping through and chipping out in large portions. They did not paint straight lines around windows/door. They stuck a beer can in a mouse house then painted over it. They missed many areas and tried to collect payment 5 times without finishing to contract standards. They never tested paint on house to see if its lead. It seems like they just slapped paint on to get it done but not correctly. Painter told me I should get new siding after he was 80% done, WOW! I just paid 4500 to get my house painted. They even left in the middle to start another house. WORST feeling ever!!!

You are lucky if he answers your email in a week's time. Many times he just doesn't respond. Mike told me he would match the paint in my kitchen and it is definitely not matched. It was an off white and now it's an ugly sort of dirty looking vanilla color. I'm going to have several of the rooms redone, especially the kitchen. I've been emailing Mike off and on for months and have asked him to come over and look at a couple of things regarding the painting he did in my kitchen. He keeps putting me off and telling me things like he's busy or will get over to my place one of these weekends. The paint behind my sink is failing. The only way I can describe it is to say it's sort of cracked. The caulking behind my sink has separated and there is a split at least 12 inches long. Mike painted my backsplash a bright white and it looks nothing like it did before he painted. I was shocked when I saw it but didn't say anything. I should have. All Mike cares about is getting your money. He is not the least bit interested in what kind of a job he does. His wife, son and daughter work with him and they don't know what they are doing. Mike will agree on certain days to paint and then change the dates. He doesn't finish the job and I had to call him back several times to ask him why things weren't done and ask him to come back and finish. I asked him why some of my trim hadn't been done and he said that wasn't included in the job. I told him I wanted that done. Once he left my condo completely unlocked which is a big thing to me as I have had break ins. I now have an alarm system. I am single and I am not rich. My mother left me some money when she passed away which is the only reason I was able to afford to spend thousands of dollars on painting and now I will have to spend more to have things fixed and painted in the correct color. Mike has himself set up on sites like Home Advisor and somehow has gotten himself an A rating. He shouldn't even be on any of those sites. They are recommending him to others. Just be careful and do not hire Mike because you will get a lousy job with watered down paint. I have many spots here and there where paint has scratched off and the wall has barely been touched. I even got Mike a job with my 90 year old upstairs neighbor. Apparently he gave her some pretty good prices. The prices he gave me were not as good. I have no idea how he estimates. Maybe numbers just come into his head. My neighbor called me once because she was trying to get in touch with him and he wasn't getting back to her. I told her that he probably would but she might have to wait a week. Apparently he did get in touch with her. I guess she was lucky. I can't say enough bad things about this company. Stay away!!!!!

He never charged extra but reminded us that most painters would. He made our red trim and garage doors white. Our house needed extra prep work. Mike recommended getting new gutters, and we did. I also replaced some chimney siding he said was warped. He let me use his washer on my walkways, as he removed that item in order to reduce the price. I had plenty of time to use it. The weather and family issues impacted the timing of the work getting completed, but enabled me to ensure everything was prepped the way I wanted it to be (I did some of the priming, prep work, and all of the post-paint work). He left a few cans of paint for touch up. They tore off all of the masking paper and at our request took it away instead of using our recycling bin. They are very fast (hasty) workers but usually they only work a few hours day and a few days a week. I recommend having a deadline completion date in the contract along with what happens if the date is missed. This was hard on my wife who was anxious to get it done. Overall we are very happy with the result but we did a lot of related work and had to work hard on the communication, which was frequent as the timing of things kept changing almost every time we talked.

From the beginning, the service was excellent and the whole team was professional, respectful, and easy to work with. What really stood out to me was the way they treat their clients. You can tell they actually care, not just about the job, but about the experience. Max, the project manager, was amazing. He gave me a very calm and reassuring feeling from day one, explained every step of the process clearly, and kept everything organized and on track. That kind of communication is rare in this industry. The quality of the work came out great, and the whole process was smooth with no stress. On top of that, their pricing is very fair and reasonable for the level of work they deliver, which is something I really appreciated. We had a quote by Finecraft. When they arrived, they were very personable and kind. We felt at…read moreease with them, and it seemed they knew what they were talking about. At that meeting, we were told we needed to install flooring under the cabinets. After speaking with a contracting friend and two other companies, everyone said that was incorrect. This led me to doubt their professional knowledge and expertise. After the initial meeting, everything started going by the wayside. They missed appointments, were hard to get a hold of, and changed their story. We went from picking out materials to needing another appointment for the contractor to see the home. During the second appointment for measuring and seeing the home, they "measured" by measuring at an extreme angle. The contractor, in charge of demolishing our kitchen, demonstrated no knowledge in how to properly measure (it was NOT an area needing an angle to measure). That was concerning. They also didn't know the business hours of their own vendors. When we decided not to continue with FC Construction, they were honorable in giving us a refund. But when we called to remind them, the owner told us the refund was in the process. The next day, the main company line called and asked for our refund information to issue a refund. So it being "processing" was a lie. I didn't trust them to start any work, so I have no idea how their work is. But I wouldn't recommend based on the many red flags mentioned above. Kind people, though.
