The good- the restaurant was clean and all employees were working hard. The struggle- I placed an order over the phone and was told the order would be ready when I got there. I arrived 10 minutes later and didn't expect it to be ready that quick but, sadly it took 40 minutes to get my order. It was sitting on the shelf for a bit before my name was called by someone who seemed to be a manager of sorts. No apology for not calling out my name when it was ready, no sorry it took so long. Viva Chicken is one of my favorite spots, but since the locations are not near where I live I do not get there as often as I would like. Met some friends for dinner and decided to try the tacu bowl. Popped in early evening for a bite to eat. Used to eat at this location all the time. They only had one line open to order and it was backed up pretty far. Took a while to put my order in, but once I did, the food came out about 10 minutes. They placed it in front of me and it looked fantastic. Everything had a good flavor and was cooked properly. Rotisserie chicken is the best: not salty, all natural, hormone free, savory spices, no fat. Fries were a little salty, but everything else seemed to be low salt. Chicken rice soup is excellent. They were out of the Chica Morada (purple corn drink), so I had the MaraCuya (passion fruit) and that was very refreshing. Walked in 30 minutes until close because another shop down from them ran out of the food we drove to order. It is about 20 minutes out of the way for us. It was very clean on the inside. I thought to myself, "I bet they all want to go home and would have rather us not walk in." When I started to order the girl at the cash register was very patient with us. I ordered a 1/4 white chicken plate, with rice, and plantains. Helen made sure to ask me again if I wanted dark or white chicken and fried or cilantro rice. I was thrilled she asked because I love the cilantro rice the most. It was just my daughter and I out late and I forgot to mention it. My child ordered 1/4 chicken and green beans. No flavor and way too many onions My husband ordered the Viva Steak bowl that was on special and wow.. SUPER salty. I think they dumped the whole bottle of soy sauce in it. Rice and all was drenched in sauce. (Soupy) Could barely finish it. It was so hot inside I almost broke a sweat trying to eat my food. I kept passing by this restaurant until today. Arrived around the noon hour and there was no line. You order at the front counter by reading the board above or looking at the list on the counter and they provide a table number to locate you in the restaurant. The chicken sandwich on bread with fries was my order along with a limeade drink. A staffer brings your food on a square small baking sheet within a few minutes. The sandwich was broasted chicken meat hand-pulled. The only issue is that I got pieces of cartilage in my sandwich which lowered my ranking down a notch. The tables and chairs are clean and they provide real silverware unless it's a takeaway order. The food was tasty, even the fries. I would probably return again but would most likely order 'all white' meat to prevent the accidental cartilage pieces being included in the sandwich. read more

The food here was very delicious! Being a big fan of Peruvian food, I knew I had to try this quick service location. We enjoyed the variety of chicken options, and even very healthy options with phenomenal substitutes. Though, I will say the options are limited to mostly chicken so if you are expecting options like lomo saltado, then somewhere else would be better. The restaurant was kept clean and it was a nice environment, but the men's bathroom was going under renovations. Got off the inner state while on a road trip and found this location. We had eaten at another Viva before so decided to check it out. It is fast food, order at counter, serve your self soft drinks, get your silverware and they deliver food to you. Ok atmosphere, not the cleanest dining room and restroom needed cleaning. We ordered a quarter chicken with cilantro rice and fried yuca. We do enjoy the chicken with seasonings. We both wanted to know where the cilantro was in rice as there was no flavoring of it. The yuca is ok, think of a breaded fried potato wedge. Not much flavor. We both enjoyed the mild sauce. This is a healthier choice then a burger. Also, there must not be any sulfites on chicken as my wife had not allergic reactions. We will stop at another Viva if it is on our path of travel. read more

We've been eating at Viva Chicken since it opened at this location, and we've enjoyed it. We went again recently but wasn't so delighted with our meals. Firstly, when we opened our take-out bag the order was wrong. The salad we ordered was missing and we received a side we didn't ask for. Since we had already left the restaurant we couldn't go back and get it fixed. Secondly, the food was ridiculously greasy, including the rice. The food didn't taste bad, but it was so greasy I was cringing thinking about all the fat that must be in it. Overall, Viva is okay but I don't find the quality and attention to detail to be as good as it was originally. And I'm not sure why the food has become so much more greasy. This is the second time in a row we've experienced that. Probably won't be back for a while. read more

I'm honestly shocked I haven't reviewed this place yet. My boyfriend brought me here when we wanted to try something new. I read that it was a rotisserie chicken place and thought 'whatever.' I was not expecting much. Come to find out, it's a Peruvian restaurant and one of my unknown obsessions. The tacu bowl is everything that I didn't know I needed in life. They have an orange colored drink, that I unfortunately can't remember the name of, but it's so good. My love affair with this restaurant continued when I got the flu and just needed a good bowl of soup when I finally got my appetite back. I ordered the soup with chicken and my beloved orange drink several days in a row when they were still on Doordash. Sadly, they are not anymore. I have never had a single bad item from this restaurant. Everything has been delicious, and it makes me feel better about eating here that it's all decently healthy too. Honestly, the only downsides to this place are that 1. They signed an exclusive contract with UberEats while I use Doordash, and 2. They're extremely close to Walmart, Lidl, and Earth Fare, so I'm at risk of stopping here any time I'm out shopping for groceries. read more

Every time I eat here it's always something different. Sometimes the salad only has 8 total pieces of lettuce. Sometimes the avocado is brown and tastes 3 weeks too old. Being very familiar with Viva Chicken and finding out that they had a location in Concord, I was very excited to try this new location. Parking was great because they are on the main street which is Concord Mills Boulevard and they have a side parking lot so there are several places to park around their store. I was in a hurry, so I ordered my food to go. I ordered the Inca burrito with no beans, added, chicken, and selected the cilantro rice. I ordered a fountain drink and french fries and my total was very reasonable for an afternoon lunch. When I got home, I found that my burrito had beans in it and the flavor was very lackluster for the entire burrito. This was very disappointing because Viva Chicken is known for its spices. in the future when I go and order to-go food, I will have no choice now but to stand at a table, open it, and inspect it. For that reason, quick visit to Viva in the Concord location will be limited if I cannot trust what is being placed in my bag. read more
