Being very familiar with Viva Chicken and finding out that they had a location in Concord, I was very excited to try this new location. Parking was great because they are on the main street which is Concord Mills Boulevard and they have a side parking lot so there are several places to park around their store. I was in a hurry, so I ordered my food to go. I ordered the Inca burrito with no beans, added, chicken, and selected the cilantro rice. I ordered a fountain drink and french fries and my total was very reasonable for an afternoon lunch. When I got home, I found that my burrito had beans in it and the flavor was very lackluster for the entire burrito. This was very disappointing because Viva Chicken is known for its spices. in the future when I go and order to-go food, I will have no choice now but to stand at a table, open it, and inspect it. The first time I came here about a year or two back I had a bad experience because my food wasn't hot and the chicken I got was dry and stale. I decided to give it another try knowing how popular it is and did not regret it at all!! The fried rice is sooo good. It is super flavorful, filling, and I loved the taste of the onions and other vegetables in it. We got it without chicken and just ordered chicken on the side which was also super juicy and great. We ordered regular fries- they give a whole basket and they're thick and not too crispy which I love. We also got plantains and yuca fries. Their sides are much smaller than most places, only 4 yuca fries and 4 plantains in the side. It was good just really small. The sauces they offer all taste great with the food but the hot sauce they have isn't really hot. If you go with friends I would definitely recommend ordering a whole chicken with 3 family sides, you can get the fried rice as a side too. Also, don't skip desert! Another rip off. I'm leaving this review based on Customer service. I'm Already paying for a meal, and asked for some extra sauce. I was told they are now limiting it because of a shortage of to go containers. I said so can't you out the sauce in something else ? The reply is no, but you can just buy a bottle. My sister in law and I visited Charlotte for my daughter's bday. It was our first time in Charlotte and found Viva Chicken through Yelp. This is my second time having Viva Chicken. The first time it was catered so I wanted to try it fresh from the restaurant before officially reviewing. I got the quarter chicken (all dark meat but you can request white for extra charge) which comes with two sides. I chose the cilantro rice and green beans. I also got two sauces the green/medium (Huacatay) and red/hot (Rocoto). Everything was fresh a so good. I will say, without the skin and sauce the meat to me doesn't have much taste which is consistent with rotisserie chicken in general but the skin is seasoned perfectly. the green beans were different but good. It gave me a ginger garlic soy sauce flavor but I may be wrong lol. The rice was soft and cooked to perfection. Now, I feel like the sauce was spicier the first time I tried it than this time. Ordered thru door dash. Food was packaged any kind of ways and plantain burnt and chicken looked good of to me ( like it was reheated not fresh). The rice smelled funny, I don't know what that smell is. I didn't enjoy my meal from here, waste of money! Never actually sat inside of Viva but it wasn't bad. I think it's more of a quick eat and go type of vibe. The service was A1 though. I love when the employees don't make everything so transactional. They treat you like a person and not a patron. The person who checked us out made great conversation about college football, which added a very welcoming feel. The food is always top notch. Cheers for Viva opening in Concord and closer to me :) I was a little surprised to see Viva come this far north since Concord is not particularly known for diverse dining options. If you've been to a Viva Chicken before then you know the deal. Fast casual Peruvian restaurant known for its deliciously juicy rotisserie chicken and sauces. This location is located not too far from Concord Mills in the same shopping center as Lowes and Famous Toastery. There happens to be a Jason's Deli opening up next door soon so expect the already cramped parking lot to get even more busy. I typically call in my order so that it's ready for pick up when I arrive. When the location was still freshly opened, the wait times got to be longer than I had time for so I just started calling in my orders. Service has always been friendly and I appreciate that they read back your order to ensure accuracy. The sauce station is where all of the magic happens, truly. There's usually a group of people huddled around pumping their favorite sauce into tiny cups. Personally, I'm a yellow and red fan. I usually rotate my favorites when ordering: the great wrap with avocado & jalapeno bacon, the naked Peruvian wrap, viva salad, or the quinoa stuffed avocados with chicken. The chicken was neatly cut into 4 piece - white meat and dark meat. The meat almost slid off the bone and was very moist and flavorful throughout. The skin was very clean (meaning you didn't accidentally find some feathers). We got the fried rice, corn salad, and yuca. Fried rice was deliciously flavored. The corn salad was well dressed. Both were amazingly *fresh* as heck. The yuca was also fried and seasoned to perfection and served with...some sort of dip made out of cheese I think? From ordering to serving, the meal was very pleasant. Everything in the store was very orderly and neat (multiple sauces to choose from, an online order section and line, ability to use real utensils and plates). Even when I was looking for some to-go boxes, the staff was just super nice in addressing me and then promptly getting me the box. And frankly, it did not disappoint. The fresh fries are so crispy and flavorful, and there are three different sauces you can choose from: a mild yellow sauce, a medium green sauce, and a hot red sauce. My favorites are the yellow and red sauces. They also have a variety of innovative drinks, of which I've only ever tried the herbal limeade which is a refreshing mix of mint, rosemary, basil, and lime.
