Wow, where do I even begin!? First off, I just need to say that if you need to take lessons, do NOT hesitate to call them. I have failed my driving test twice and had not tried again for 4 years. FOUR YEARS! I am 24 years old and I was relying so much on public transportation and family members for rides. What finally pushed me to take lessons and get back at it, was knowing that all my baby cousins were driving before me! I was a little embarrassed, but with the help of viva, I successfully passed my test and am now a licensed driver (finally!!) I had taken three 2-hour lessons all with Ruben who I highlyyyyy recommend!!!! He is the best! I am biased since I only had him as an instructor and no one else. But he is hands down the nicest, funniest, and most patient person ever! He helped me get my license all within 3 weeks! I got extremely nervous and negative when it came to this sensitive subject, but Ruben without a doubt helped me conquer my fear and boosted my confidence by a zillion!! I never thought it would be possible, but it happened! The reason why I knocked off a star from this review is because when I first called them on Tuesday, 1/6 (I spoke to a male worker) and he scheduled my very first lesson with an instructor named Elena for that coming Friday 1/9 at 10am. I wake up extra early with excitement and adrenaline already pumping, only to wait and wait and wait for an hour and a half and she never showed up! So I finally call the driving school and I spoke to Anna (who is such a sweetheart!!!!!) and she told me that my lesson was never scheduled and it wasn't in their system. I was so bummed! But she was super super super kind and helped me schedule a new appointment with the same instructor for the following Tuesday 1/13. But the day before my first lesson, Anna had called me and told me that my instructor called in sick for the day of my lesson. I was so disappointed and my entire mood had just changed completely. (I had always felt that I was never meant to get my license, because a numerous amount of obstacles just kept popping up!) so Anna asked if I was okay with a different instructor, I of course said it was fine, being that it was my first lesson and had no taste or experience with any of their staff yet. She scheduled me with Ruben the next day. And what a beautiful disaster that was! Because after that first lesson when I first heard him say "I got your back!" I knew this was gonna be an experience I would never forget. Furthermore, I scheduled my next two lessons and my drive test at the dmv with him. All the stuff I learned from him within such a short period of time was more informative than I had ever learned over my entire lifetime. He was extremely encouraging and he raised my level of confidence and I couldn't thank him enough. I will definitely miss all the jokes, laughs and stories that were told during my lessons to help ease my nerves. he is such a sweetheart and I am so happy to have had the pleasure of being able to work with him. OMG Viva Driving School is the best ever!! I had already had previous driving experience, but not enough, so I decided to try Viva. I purchased the 6 hours - 3 sessions Behind The Wheel Training. For my first lesson I has Ruben, and for my last two sessions I had Hovic. They were the best trainers ever. They were very professional and patient. On my last session, we went to Glendale to practice for my test. I took my test yesterday and I passed, with only 3 errors. My daughter just passed her behind the wheel test. She did the 6 hr behind the wheel practice and she said that edwin, george and sam were amazing instructors. Also purchased the 2 hr dmv test which is so worth it! I didn't have to deal with rude, grumpy Dmv staff like I did with my 2 other kids. Prices are reasonable too. read more

My daughter did her 6 hours of professional instruction here and it worked out well. They didn't answer the phone when I first called, but I left a message and they called me back very quickly, within an hour or two. They initially wanted us to pay for all 3 lessons up front, but I was short of money, so they let us pay with each lesson for just an extra $5 or so. They pick up at your home, and were always on time. Everyone I encountered at the company was pleasant and professional. One concern is that they have a policy of letting students drive other students, which I'm not crazy about, but that's the way I had it many years ago as well, and my daughter didn't have any problems with that. I was also surprised that she didn't seem to get a lot of specific feedback from the instructors about stuff to work on, but she did pass her behind-the-wheel test easily, so maybe there wasn't a lot to say. I had 10 hours of driving lesson half year ago before Viva, my previous instructor was good but upon lack of self practice I was not confident enough to take the Behind the wheel test. For safety, I decided to take more training hours with a driving school near home, then I found Viva on Yelp. I signed up 12 Hours with Hovick. He was very CALM and PATIENT instructor. He helped me ease my anxiety on the road driving. He was also able to point my mistake instantly at the first lesson, and made me practice and practice until I could handle it. Eventually, I passed DMV driving test in Glendale. Thanks Hovick. You are the best!! In addition, I would like to mention Lena, the receptionist, she was awesome and very helpful. She worked on the schedule patiently with me, and called to confirm the appointment one day before. This is a very good arrangement. read more

I would say VIVA is the best when it comes to driving school in the pasadena / glendale area. Customer service on the phone is excellent, very polite and helpful when it comes to planning the lessons. Took my nephew there he had 5 lessons with 3 different instructors because I wanted him to learn in a hurry and all instructors were excellent communicators, patient and really helped him improve his driving. Very good place to study for your driving exam. The cars are new and awesome (usually Fiat or Prius) and all of my three different instructors were patient, helpful, and fun! I was very impressed that they listened to me and catered their lesson around my fears and such. For example, I was deathly afraid of the freeway and they didnt put me on it on like the first lesson, which I really liked. Highly recommend this place! read more

I used Viva Driving School for my drivers ed class and driving lessons. I had my first lesson about a year ago. I didn't use my second lesson until about two weeks ago. I had my last lesson on Wednesday and took my test Thursday. I used the Viva car because I was able to practice for an hour before the test with my instructor. Glen was my instructor all four times and he was great! He was very helpful in reminding me of things that I needed to work on and letting me know when he saw improvement. He always stayed calm and focused on teaching me. I had my permit for almost a year because I was very nervous about taking the test, and it's thanks to Glen and Viva that I got my license yesterday! read more

I am happy to say that Viva has helped my way to get my license. I had previous driving experience some years ago and have not driven since. My instructor, Senait, understood my needs on how to start driving again and go over the parts I need to improve and learn. She got me to drive on the freeway for the first time without me freaking out! She is very good in teaching on reverse parking. I highly recommend Senait. She is patient and friendly. I took lessons on both types of cars, the Yaris (gas) and the Prius (hybrid). It is good to learn to drive both kinds of vehicles, because you'll never know. The DMV driving test went good. Just make sure you get enough time to be there, they can take a while and cause you to pay overtime minutes. I just got my license card in the mail yesterday and I am very happy to be driving again. read more

My friend had recommended Viva to me. I had no previous experience driving. I had Ruben for all of my six hours, and I learned a lot. He's really calm and points out what you did wrong, and keeps on practicing the route until you've done it correctly. When I first moved to LA, I was worried about driving here as driving can be a little stressful here especially if you have not driven before. I signed up for driving lessons at Viva Driving School. I took three lessons with Viva Driving school and can confidently drive around. I have my last lesson with them tomorrow before my test and they have accommodated a pre test to prepare me for the driving test at the DMV. All the instructors are kind and helpful, and they accommodate the lessons according to your needs. I had problems with left turn and highway and my lessons included a lot of practice with left turns and highways as well as other important rules to make sure I drive safe.
