Every week, right as rain, my cooler is out on the porch and magically, filled with yummy stuff! The produce is the best on the planet, seriously. Fresh, delicious, picked sometimes the day before! Yesterday's sun still clinging to the leaves! When I've given friends different fruits and veggies they always agree, it's not just tasty but it last longer than any organic fresh foods you can get at a grocery store. So, it saves us $$ ! We usually order the Northwest Box, as that allows us to eat the most local, seasonal foods. Wintertime we go back to a broader area to choose from, a treat as well. I go online to order more produce, or great steel cut oats, or rosemary rolls from The Breadfarm in Bow, or maybe albacore caught and packed in Oregon or Alaskan salmon or many various sundries, and the laundry soap? Lasts forever, is so compact, without the fillers and waters and unnecessary chemicals. It's gentle on my sensitive skin and strong enough to deal with my husbands undershirts. Makes great gifts, too. This company, this community of people, is so caring and giving, their farming is sustainable and so is their place in the community. Through them I can choose to donate food to my local food bank and my local recovery café or internationally on things like water & food projects. We love Klesick Family Farms!

When you get there, there's a small table with walker talkies for you to page the owner. The owner of the farm come out and talks to you about the blueberries and tell you to page him if you have any questions or need any help. The blueberries are beautiful and to me seemed very organic, no pesticides or herbicides seemed to be used. My friends participate in the "CSA" box that this farm offers that delivers a box or fresh vegetables and food to your door and a scheduled regular drop-off. They said some of the vegetables they've never seen before and they love experimenting with different foods they can make. Such a great local farm! Definitely a family friendly excursion!

Items were well selected and I had very little produce go to waste. The half share was a good amount for my wife and I. I also really liked the add-on options; we were out of town one week, and were able to get credit, we used our credit to select goat cheese and honey from the add-on options. That goat cheese was truly incredible! I've also got to commend Seattle Tilth for their educational programming and community empowerment work. Really a great resource for our city.

Example-- they are selling a box of apples for $35 but you could easily buy 20 pounds of apples for $20 from many of the local families in Stanwood/Mt Vernon/ Arlington. Garlic bulbs at Garden treasures are 20$ a pound-- again, you can get boxes of garlic bulbs for much cheaper from other nearby family farms. I could go on. Again, if you can afford it, this is a cool one stop shop for good crops. For my family (we are farmers too) it's just way too expensive/ not a good bang for your buck at all... especially in this economy. My suggestion is-- look to FB marketplace for amazing deals on seasonal crops, you'll get a lot more for your dollar and you're still shopping local.

My original plan for the day was to checkout the Shipyards in North Van., until I saw a post on instagram for the market. So glad I went. The setup was very similar to many of the markets in the Lower Mainland with many of the usual vendors like A Bread Affair, Gingeraki, and Mukasi Coffee; all very good vendors. I even bought a cold brew ($4) from Mukasi. The only vendor that was new to me were the people selling Tamales, wish I took a pic. They had a huge line and it looked as though people were really into the fresh juice they sell. Tough to really "grade" farmers markets since the vendors tend to change every week. I'm giving it 5 stars because I just love farmers markets and there were enough vendors to make the drive to UBC worth it. It's also a very good alternative to the Trout Lake market which is awesome as well, but finding parking there is a chore. Assuming it's nice next week, I'll probably be back.

Christa is kind, cool and friendly whenever I have questions or want anything in particular. The main love I have for them is that everything is organic AND plenty of variety to select from! Yams, carrots, garlic? They gots 'em, yo. Their booth size is very decent covering a variety of roots, greens, herbs and jams. Growing Washington changed the way we cook and eat!!! We've been members of this CSA for three years and have offered our front porch as a hosting site. They provide 100% LOCAL and ORGANIC fruits, veggies, and even butter, flour, fresh flowers, herbs, and eggs. All the products are fresh and unique. The BEST thing about this CSA is that they provide a LIST of all the FRESH stuff on the farm that week, and you CHOOSE what works best for your taste, cooking style, and needs. You can be adventurous one week, and conservative next week. It's all so flavorful and delicious. I've been particularly impressed with the service. We've been going with the CSA for three years and anytime there has been questionable quality they always replace it, no questions asked. Two weeks in a row we got some icky misuna, and the third week they sent us FLOWERS. I always feel like I end up on top. Just another reason to love summer in Seattle.

The veggies themselves are super fresh and it's a great variety. We've definitely had more variety when we were in CA since it's bigger farms but we still walked away with chard, Tokyo Bekana, 2 types of lettuce, delicious beets, herbs and more. Super happy to have access to the fresh veggies for the remainder of the season and having it be an interactive family outing and learning for our 2.5yo daughter. Stephanie and Claire are amazing and have such great customer service. Due to the heatwave we brought our fruit from the Redmond market in and in our rush, we forgot it there and by the time we got back, someone took it on accident. Stephanie called all the members with fruit pickups to see who mistakenly took it. To our surprise they found the person the day later and we're getting our fruit! (Was super sad since I couldn't find cherries and stone fruit of the same caliber at PCC yesterday).
