Who's going to worry about new customers coming here and shelling out $150 for an hour's worth of mediocre tepid substandard whatever this was? I will. What about my endless long work hours that would shock most people, coming to this place for a decent massage to relieve the bad body effects of extreme overwork but walking out with zero effect? I'll worry. Not one knot found, much less kneaded out. Zero reflexology. Faking it over and over. She started off telling me - not asking me, but telling that she doesn't talk "because she listens to the body." Guess her hands were deaf. I've gotten massages for decades here in the U.S. as well as other free countries. This wasn't just a below average massage - the only massage worse than this was a masseuse in her 70's down South that after just running her hands tepidly over my skin here and there, she left after she tried selling me a Bible. They're so charming down there I couldn't get mad. And I had never returned to Bennesere until today. My prior visit, I was subjugated and subjected to -and I'm not kidding you: an hour of unwanted Russian propaganda talking points. You think I'm kidding? I'm not. That massage wasn't great either and I wasn't buying "Ukraine had it coming". So i struggled tonight with whether or not I should just write privately to them but I don't want a third wasted hour offered. It's clear they don't hire quality masseuses. It's clear they don't vet or train these people. And for $150, I don't just expect competence: I deserve it. Never again.

The therapist didn't speak any English so with this language barrier, she did whatever she wanted and I just had to make the best of it. The massage tables were uncomfortable and the sheets and towels were old rough on my bare skin. The amount advertised for the 90 min or 120 min treatment is totally different from what you will be charged on your way out. I find it distasteful and rude to demand a tip greater than 18%. At one point I felt uneasy and disrespected after paying for the treatment in full and leaving a tip greater than 18%. I wasn't aware that it was mandatory to have to pay an additional amount on top of the fee and Tip that was already paid. I wasn't sure I was allowed to leave if I did not leave atleast 30% tip to satisfy the cashiers demand. Not sure if this is a regular practice, however I won't subject myself to this embarrassment and uneasy feeling of disrespect. 06-04-2026 - @approx. 1pm est I received a call from someone named Sophia, saying they are "the manager" . The first red flag was I was text thru an automated system from the business then I was called from someone calling from a Pakistan phone number +92 99 239080. Conversation started pleasant and immediately went left once I began to explain my issue with the service & treatment I received while patronizing this establishment. It almost seemed like a rehearsed script used for all complaints and issues. First I was told that "maybe there was a language barrier , that was misunderstood. 2nd she immediately informed me that she saw my review and began contesting "my experience at this spa". 3rd she then told me that she "reviewed camera footage" , and this is what didn't sit well with me. This wasn't a call to resolve or fix a situation with a customer, this was more confrontational. She also said I was free to leave at anytime due to the fact that I stated , I wasn't sure if I would be allowed to leave without increasing the tip. I wasn't sure also accused of leaving a false review of my experience and at that point I asked if it was possible to get an email contact for the owner. The last thing this "manager" said before I ended the call was "this is what I mean, I am trying to work with you" as if she was doing me a favor. No thank you. Have a pleasant day.

His comprehensive massage is a pressure points, adjustment and massage type of therapy. You'll really feel like a million bucks when you leave! Unfortunately, the other massage therapists are not great. High turnover as well: they only stick around for a few months' time and then leave, not sure why. I haven't had a facial, so can't speak about those services. The spa's rooms are very close together and even though they play spa music, you can usually hear what's going on in the next room. If you have a massage in one of the front rooms, you'll also hear the people waiting in the reception area. Limited parking in Maplewood, so leave yourself time to find a spot.
