This place has the WORST customer service. They literally do not care about their customers (or to be customers). I called to make an appointment for me and a friend. I told the lady on the phone that we were planning to purchase a Groupon but wanted to see what availabilities they have before doing so. The lady provided me with a few availabilities and asked me not to purchase the Groupon. She said she can give us the same rate. I agreed and confirmed the price and confirmed the time for my appointment. She took down my name and my number. Fast forward to the day before my appointment, I called just to confirm. The lady told me she cannot find my name or number and that she had no availability for the time I had told her. I told her about the conversation I had the day before and she tells me, "yeah no sorry we don't have anything. Did you give your credit card info because it's only confirmed if you give your credit card #". I told her that I was not asked for that information while making my appointment. She said yeah well it's not confirmed then. Ummm.... HOW am I supposed to know that if your staff NEVER asked me for that information and told me I was good to go. She did not offer any apologies for the miscommunication and inconvenience. She offered me another time but we were so turned off by their apathetic customer service so we decided we will not be going here. There are plenty of better spas around the area, so don't go here. It's not worth paying for if they don't even care about retaining customers or offering solutions/ apologies. She called me a few hours later asking if I was still interested and I said no, I'm not happy with your customer service and we will not be visiting. First time here using a gift for eyelash extensions. Groupon/70 each eye. Jessica did a great job. Looks natural but enhanced- fuller. Only a few has started to fall off after a week and half, which is part of the natural eyelash cycle. I would recommend their services. I liked that they had separate rooms. Then he asked if we have been there before - we said yes 2 years ago. He stated well the groupon purchase is only for new(1st time) customers - which i told him no where on the groupon or when i called in to schedule anyone advise me of this. Very nice place with parking. Clean and welcoming on the inside. My niece purchased a 60 minute reflexology massage from Groupon. I had to call several times before actually booking the appointment but once we connected I booked the appointment with no problems. My masseuse Lisa was nice. When I arrived I was told I would have to pay the sales tax. No problem it was $5.00. The massage started. There must have been some communication error because she spent the whole hour on my feet. It was good but I thought I was getting a full body. Closer to the end I had to ask "Will you be doing my back?" She responded "Oh time is almost up. Let me show you prices for time" she comes back with the brochure showing me prices for 30 mins 1 hour and a membership. I really can't focus and don't want a membership so I opted for 30 minutes for and additional $45.00. It was quick and good. I felt better. When time to pay I was again told about the membership. I told them I wasn't in a position to do a membership right now then they went on about a payment plan. Again I declined. Then they showed me their files and said see we have 100's of clients. At that point I was just ready to go because I felt they were WAY to pushy. Then I gave a tip. She told me there is a mandatory gratuity tip of 15%, 20% or 25%. They wanted me to pay the tip of the Groupon as well as the amount extra. I wouldn't have mind paying the he gratuity but I paid for for a service I should have already gotten. I took a star away for that and a star away because I felt harassed to join a membership. I definitely will not be returning. Very frustrating as the lady who works with my eyelashes had poked my eyelids 6 times when she was removing the tape. I was irritated somehow so I told her to use her fingers instead of the tweezers. My eyes got sore because she let me open my eyes without drying it first with a fan. My eyes were reddish when I looked at the mirror. I felt disgusted because she let me lay on bed without a bed paper roll. When I got up the floor was covered with a lot used towels. I couldn't believe what I saw. By far one of the worst massages I have gotten in a whole. I signed up for a Swedish massage and felt like I walked out with rug burn. The whole massage felt choppy and Not relaxing. The masseuse didn't know the way your body's ligaments and at one point she just kept roughly rubbing my back from top to bottom for five- ten mins with the baby oil on my back - i literally felt like I was getting a body scrub and felt a burning sensation. To make matters worse someone came in during my body massage 3 times to remove equipment from the room. When I brought this up to management the reaction was "ya I told her to wait but she didn't listen" there was no apology, they did nothing to make up for someone awkwardly walking into a private massage 3 times, and frankly I just thought the whole situation was handled poorly. I am shocked that they are in business. I would avoid coming here. read more

I did enjoy my massage when I went there the first time. The microdermabrasion left my skin very dry, peeling and flaky and they did not prepare me for that after shock. But, my biggest fault with them was since that first visit, I purchsed more Groupons. When I called to schedule I was told I would not be able to use them because I had been a one time customer. I did not see any stipulation like that on the Groupon site under directions for use. Also, Groupon allowed the purchases. I'm new to NJ so I have yet to find my go-to...everything. I found a Groupon for a 60 min Swedish massage and 60 min Signature facial at Spring Beauty Spa and figured that's a good way to test these new places. They were very accommodating (albeit fully booked) considering I had a Groupon. I say this because many establishments are not once they learn you're using a Groupon. They also call to confirm which I appreciate. Let's start with the massage. Coco (?) was PHENOMENAL. I think she is the only masseuse I've ever had (and I've had countless) that I didn't had to ask to go harder or softer during the massage. It's like she knew my body and what it needed. I'm sore, of course, but that's because I put off having a massage far too long. Needless to say, I'm definitely coming back to Coco especially since they're only a 14 min drive from my new apartment. Now, the facial. My first big disappointment is that I went for the Signature facial because it said they would do "extractions." Well, she must have poked on my nose just 4-5x and that was it. I KNOW I have way more blackheads than that, so that's a huge disappointment for me. Then, halfway through, their manager Julia came in to speak to me about upgrading my facial because she was told I have dry skin. True, I do! They suggested the IPL facial which was an extra $50. I declined because I don't like being upsold when I'm vulnerable like that (lying on a massage bed with cotton covering my eyes) and unable to make wise decisions. She showed me the brochure (which I could hardly read without my eyeglasses) and offered a discount - only $40 for the upgrade. I agreed, and regret doing so. The added "light" (a machine) was something I could get at another spa that I already frequent, and a one-time use like that would not do significant improvement. In short, not worth the extra $40. Looking at the brochure now, I wish I had just spent the extra money on the upgrade on another type of facial they offer that could probably have benefited me more than the IPL. The manager also mentioned they would upgrade the serum to be used. Well, the day after the facial (yesterday), I had red spots all over my cheeks, and when I put my usual serums and creams on after my shower, there was a sting around my eyes that I never have after putting my eye cream. Two days after the facial (today), my face is itchy all over and I already KNOW that if I put anything on my skin today it will still sting. They make you sign a waiver that this might happen -redness, etc. Most spas do, but I have had countless facials in my lifetime and these side effects have never really happened to me. Needless to say, I won't be back there for a facial. They offer different "memberships" which are discounted treatments (massage, facial, or both). I definitely plan on signing up for one so I can come back to Coco for a massage regularly. read more

I'm giving this place 2 stars because my facial came out amazing. However, the overall experience turned me off from this place. I would not recommend coming here if you're looking for a relaxing, serene experience. This is due to the constant up-selling that you receive while you're supposed to be relaxing during a massage and facial. Also, the walls are paper thin and I can literally hear everyone walking/talking up and down the hallway. I was gifted a Groupon for my birthday for a 1-hour massage and facial. I originally wanted a hot stone massage but after a quick assessment, the masseuse suggested a "medium" massage. This was more of a deep tissue massage and I was left feeling much sorer than when I arrived. The masseuse did warn me of this during the massage. During the massage, she kept recommending for me to add on a cupping service that was deeply discounted. I had to decline multiple times which, again, distracted me from relaxing during my spa day. Next came the facial which was done by the masseuse. I think it was supposed to be 30 minutes but ended up being 1-hour which was very nice. I have sensitive skin, but I did not have any reactions to the ingredients in the products she used. I really enjoyed this part as I got to relax more, but even though during the middle she kept asking me if I wanted to do microdermabrasion. I literally had to tell her no about 5 times. This was starting to get annoying. She then recommended that I become a member of the spa to get monthly treatments. I would have appreciated all these recommendations at the end instead of interruptions throughout the entire experience which prevented me from truly relaxing. When I was finished, I was asked to pay a $5 tax which confused me since I did not see that in the fine print of the Groupon. They also said I wasn't able to purchase another Groupon since it's for first time visitors only. Again, not listed in the Groupon fine print. I tipped my masseuse/esthetician via an envelope left on the front desk (I did not get to see her before I left) and was then informed about all these deals for facials and massages by the gentleman at the front desk before I was able to finally leave. Like I said earlier, I won't be back due to the pressuring to add on services during the service time and to buy into a membership package. Springfield Day Spa needs to work on making their atmosphere more relaxing and I may have actually purchased/scheduled additional services. People normally go to a spa to relax, not to be up sold/marketed to. I hope they take this into account and make some changes or they will lose new customers. read more

DISGUSTING!! For a couple of reasons: I called to book a couples massage and the receptionist told me to not book thru Groupon and they will give me the same price. So I booked it directly thru the salon. When our massage was done was done I provided a 10% tip even though it wasn't the kind of massage advertised (it was horrible quality and I booked a couples massage but my partner and I were in separate rooms for some reason) Then the owner or manager insisted I tip the masseuse more than I already did which I was appalled by but I did tip more out of embarrassment.. THEN when we left my male partner told me the masseuse offered to give him a "Happy ending" I am absolutely disgusted I don't know what to do!! I will be reporting them to the BBB. read more

This is for the Hillsborough site, since there is no option to write a review for them. First and last time at this spa. I walked in no one was there and then a lady came up to me and asked how she could help me. I told her I had an apt. She couldn't find my name or phone number. I then told her I even received a phone call yesterday to confirm she asked for my Groupon and told me to have a seat. She came up to me with the pamphlet of their store and showed me there is one in Hillsborough(where I live) and also one In Springfield which is almost 45 min from me. I said that when I booked I even confirmed their location and time. There was no one else there besides me and I heard a lot of conversing in the back so they ended up taking me for my massage and my facial. I was brought to a room which had 2 beds for couples massage. I undressed and got onto the table. The masseuse came in and it was like I never met her, but I just had the entire conversation with her out in the front. Her name was Judy, she was sweet. She did not ask me if I have any issues or if there was anything I wanted her to focus on. I have had many massages in the past and I would rate this one maybe a 5. I was a little upset that I was interrupted by one of her coworkers during my massage she open the door talk to her and then close the door. I also did not like the fact that you could hear conversation outside the door as well as what was going on in the next room. Also when she went to go get me a hot towel she left the door open a little bit which I felt was inappropriate. I was also Surprised that they didn't put the bolster underneath your knees when you lay face up. It was freezing in the room and all you're covered with is a sheet and a towel. I guess she realized that I was cold and gave me a blanket. I got this massage because it's at 120 minute Swedish massage Including signature facial, so I took that as a 2 hour massage with the facial, but I was wrong. The massage was over, I was surprised that she didn't massage the front of my legs, but overall it was ok. The facial felt rushed. During the extraction I believe there is no tools use she just squeezed a few blackheads which was extremely painful. It was not that relaxing as I have had many others. She used the Collagen mask and said she'll be back in 10 minutes it was definitely more than 10 minutes. She took it off and proceeded to clean my face and not till I got home that I realize I still had pieces of it all over my face and my scalp, as well as my face breaking out! Which has NEVER happened. Nothing against her personally I just did not like the technique of the facial. Before putting on the collagen mask she placed a gauze like sheet on top of my face. She then covered my eyes with cotton rounds and place the collagen mask all over my face including my eyes. When she took it off my eyes felt strange, I never had that done before. My eyes were very wattery and blurry for about 30 min. when I got home and realize there was a phone call from the Springfield location asking if I was coming in and I told them what happened. I don't know why they would put a phone number linked to the Springfield location on their Hillsborough Groupon. When I did come out of the room I paid my taxes which are not included which is also stated in the Groupon and I knew this. She then tried to offer me memberships and if you buy a gift card now it'll be a small discount I was not interested. She then proceeded to tell me if I write a review right now she will give me a free hand sanitizer.
