Several months ago, a Vivint sales representative showed up at my house on one of those two-wheeled scooters. He parked it next to my car, walked through my yard (I don't have sidewalks or a walkway to my front door for a reason), and ignored the very clear, very visible NO SOLICITING sign in my front window. Then yesterday, around 7:00 p.m., another Vivint representative showed up. He asked if I was the homeowner. I said, "Yes, and I'm not interested. Thank you." That should have been the end of the conversation. Instead, he kept going. He commented on my security cameras, saying, "I noticed you have cameras..." I interrupted him again and said, "I have cameras, and I am NOT interested." He still continued. I finally told him, "You're right--I don't have to buy anything. I have two cameras, two antisocial, protective, slightly unhinged large dogs, and a firearm. I'm good. Thank you. Goodbye." Apparently that still wasn't enough. He got back on his scooter and rode it through my yard. Seriously? Vivint, if you're reading this: Respect "No Soliciting" signs. If a homeowner politely tells your salesperson they're not interested, the conversation is over. Don't continue the sales pitch, and don't ride through someone's yard on your way out. I looked for a way to file a complaint on your website but couldn't find one, so I'm posting here instead. Consider this my formal request: Do not send another salesperson to my home. Do not use Vivint!! The most difficult process about buying a new home and selling my old home is trying to get my system out of my old house and reinstalled into my new house. The time between removal and reinstallation was supposed to be 2 weeks. So I had to take off work for 2 separate days to start with. I tried to cancel my policy since my equipment is paid off and since I purchased another camera last summer, they put me into another 5 year contract automatically. If I want out, I have to buy out the contract for $2,400 dollars. On the day the technician was supposed to show up, he tried to show up in the morning when the appointment was scheduled for 12-2pm. I explained to the technician that I only took off work for half a day and he said he would make the right time. Called me at 12:30 and said he couldn't make it and would have to reschedule again. So now it will be over 45 days without service. Called customer service and the automated voice said my appointment was for 11-1pm to start with, received a text message to remind me of a 12-2pm. Customer service rep said he is sorry and can't reschedule me until the 31st. So I will have to take another day off work. All they say is "I am sorry" I would recommend any other company but this one. They sell WiFi cameras on amazon. 0/5 stars read more

DO NOT USE VIVINT!!!! My boyfriend and I purchased vivint when we bought our first home in 2018. Paid off the loan for the "security merchandise" and paid our monthly fee for the service every month. The following year we bought a new home. When we spoke with vivint they told us "if the new home owners agree to purchase vivint we will install new equipment in your new home." We spoke with the buyers, they wanted to stay with their previous security company. So we talked to vivint again, and they told us we would have to PAY to get it professionally removed by them. So we DID. Then within a week of being in our new home, I was at home with our 8 month old baby & a vivint representative knocked on my door trying to get my business. HE EXPLAINED THAT THE HOME ALREADY HAD VIVINT AND WE WOULDNT BE CHARGED FOR THE EQUIPTMENT THAT WAS IN THE HOME WHEN WE PURCHASED IT. I explained to him that we had already had the equipment, and he said "this equipment that is already installed is newer and better" A few months later i am getting phone calls to PAY OFF A LOAN FOR THE EQUIPMENT. We had already paid off our equipment, were forced to use different equipment - that the previous owners 100% have already paid off. And they wont take this out of the wall, and put ours that is paid off up, BECAUSE I SIGNED for this. ITS FRAUD I have a loan out in my name, for something we had already purchased and paid off. The sells person must have not wanted to unmount the equipment from the wall to put ours up. THEY TOOK A VIDEO OF ME AGREEING WHILE COOKING DINNER AND HOLDING AN UPSET BABY, and YOU CAN HEAR THE SALES PERSON TELLING ME TO AGREE. He also told me it would only take one phone call to change everything from my name to my boyfriends. (who is the one working while I stay at home with our child) Why else would they video me signing? I made phone calls & when I told them they would be hearing from my lawyer they changed their attitude. They still haven't refunded me or came to get this equipment. March 30, 2021 Vivint Stuttgart Police Department Detective In Charge County Sheriff's Office Arkansas State Police FBI, Little Rock, Arkansas To the Corporation, Vivint, and All of the Officials Listed Above: We have approached our concerns about Vivint as well as our concerns with respect to trespassers on our property in Stuttgart as diplomatically as we possibly can. We will not ignore that which has transpired with respect to trespassers on our property, Vivint's harassment, via the Vivint app, and their denial of receiving and cashing checks for services "rendered." (1) Vivint, this is not a belief, I know that you can trace the checks if you want. All checks were deposited into the same bank. Trace! Find! I provided check numbers for one of your associates. (2) Relate your findings to us in writing. (3) You have harassed us every morning and every night with past due notices for more than a month via the Vivint app., using that loud "bl-ding1". Stop! (4) Did you, Vivint petition and/or did you petition and receive copies of the checks that you denied receipt of, from our bank? (5) Are you involved in assisting these persons who have trespassed on our property? Please define and outline your involvement. To the remaining Officials: Detective, (We do not feel that it is prudent to list your name) did you receive the legal documentation in the form of video footage from us? There should have been 4 or 5 videos via your e-mail? Did you receive the written correspondence via your e-mail? Please confirm or deny receipt of all documents. It was confirmed on our end that you did indeed receive all of the material sent to you via your e-mail. We have heard nothing from you. According to the Detective that answered in your stead upon talking with my husband, you were involved in a murder investigation, but that you would be given the message. We in turn expected a return call. You have never called us back. The Detective also stated that from then on out, if anyone was found on the property, despite the fact that trespassing is considered a misdemeanor and that the individual or individuals would be arrested. Following that conversation with your fellow Detective, two young "white" women trespassed on the property-- at which time, you were provided with a video, whereby their plots and conversations to break into our home were clearly audible. Have they been arrested? Are they employed by Walmart? Are they students at U of A? We must conclude and have been forced to conclude that local authorities have decided that we, as respectable homeowners have no rights to be enlightened as to progress of the investigation as well as to the identity of the two women and the additional 4, etc.. men as well. Is this true? If this is true, please provide your decision and the reason for your decision in writing. Please understand that we will not let this rest. We followed the directives of the FBI Office located in Little Rock. We were told, after having explained our dilemma, that these were matters for local authorities. I made numerous efforts to contact the Sheriff's Office in Dewitt, at which time, I constantly and persistently received a busy signal. I worried as to whether this fast busy signal was commonplace or whether or not the FBI's office apprised the appropriate Sheriff's Office of my "intent to call." Perhaps my calls were blocked? After making the calls for several days and getting the same results--fast busy signals, it was perplexing--very troubling. During early morning hours however, after calling all over the State of Arkansas, I was able to get a usable number for the Sheriff's Office. I explained my concerns, was told that the message would be passed on and that a call back would be requested. We have received absolutely nothing. However, prior to calling the Sheriff's Office, I called the State Police. Since I could never get in touch with personnel for the office connected with Stuttgart, I called every office that appeared on the internet. I was directed to the correct office, but was also advised that there was a chain of command in consideration for our concerns: Matters firstly, had to be handled by local authorities. When I explained that the Detective was involved in a murder investigation, I was told that the Detective had to request assistance with regards to our concerns. Detective, was assistance requested? Are you still the contact person for the crimes that we have been subjected to? We are convinced that these are hate-crimes. Are these incidents, hate crimes? What actions have been taken to identify those trespassers? What actions have been taken to stop the trespassers? Again, were the two women arrested? It seems to be a pretty commonplace thing for people to enter our property at will. Detective, have you been advised to withhold information from us ? If so whom? read more

WORST customer service EVER! Every time we've had to contact customer service on the 801 number, it's been a pain in the neck. Plus the website makes it very difficult to log in to your account.. It doesn't work most of the time. Customer service won't let us shut off the system and close the account even though I don't own the home any more. I have to wait till in the morning according to the woman who struggled to speak English. Then she said it may take up to a month for it to be completed - which evidently is a common complaint. My elderly mom had a Vivint system (which I feel like their door to door salesman preyed on my mom while she was battling cancer, taking chemo, etc and talked her into buying an expensive alarm system). When she died from the cancer, VivInt would not let us end the contract or change it because they said my mom had a certain contract that didn't end for several months. Sounds like they roped her into some long term deal. So we got stuck paying the monthly bill till we could sell the house. read more

After having the system for the required 42 months, I tried to cancel and found that billing goes on with a month to month charge with no notification. After several phone calls to their customer service, I'm told to send them account information requesting cancellation and the process would be take 5-7 days to be cancelled. After waiting more than a week, I call back and am now told that it is company policy that any and all cancellations take a month for the date of notification. Sad customer service and policy as this was an auto draft so they got their money like clockwork. Also they have a parts only warranty with the system, but they will charge labor to deal with your warranty parts. Other name brand companies don't. Why are these companies just ringing bells and soliciting at homes. It is very invasive. I think that we are all smart enough to know that if we want info we will call YOU. A company that allows this is really setting themselves up for a potential problem. This guy "representing Vivint" is ringing doorbells, Asking people about their existing security systems and just hanging around the neighborhood for 2-3 days now. We love our system, but the smart assistant just can't figure out our schedule because we don't have a consistent schedule. So it'll stay in sleep mood all day some days, or switch to home mode at 2am. Smart assistant definitely isnt saving us much money because of this. Vivint needs to realize not everyone works an 8am to 5pm Monday thru Friday schedule. The scheduling needs to be able to be done on a day by day basis not on a weekday and weekend schedule. read more

If Yelp would take my submission I wouldn't give Vivint any stars! Products rarely work and seriously the worst customer service of any company I've ever dealt with! I either can't reach customer support or tech support by phone or I do reach them and they say they're so sorry but what I need is another department, then I have long waits - get transferred around and they still don't help. They wear you out by taking so long that you just surrender. If you're considering them for an alarm company save yourself the time, money and headache. Go somewhere else!! Our door locks, keypads, and wall panel have been messed up for weeks. We called them repeatedly, and FINALLY they sent a tech over (a great guy, I might add: professional, efficient). He installed new locks, keypads, and wall panel. I had to practically threaten to blow up Vivint in Utah to get this service. Then the next day we get two door locks delivered to our home. ??? Excuse me? Then we get an email with a Fed Ex return label and instructions to send the locks back, posthaste. Fed Ex is across town from my house. Those locks are going to sit in my garage awhile...maybe forever. read more

Let me tell you how I almost got sued by Vivint for terminating a contract 3 years after I moved out. I got divorced and moved to a different state so the "security system" stayed in the house which we rented when we moved out. We made arrangements with the tenants for them to take over the remainder of the contract and thought that was that. WRONG! Fast forward 3 years and I get a call from a man telling me he is serving me court papers and that that was his second attempt to deliver said papers. I asked what it was about and he couldn't tell me but gave me a 1-800 number to call. I called and it was some type of collection agency telling me Vivint was suing me for $800 for breaching a contract. WTH? I didn't get a single email or any kind of correspondence. How the heck did the guy serving me papers get a hold of me faster than Vivint did in 3 years?! I called Vivint and of course they said they didn't have any records of my account and if it was in collections it no longer belonged to them. I asked to speak to a manager but conveniently no one was ever available. Longer story short I had to call my bank and get a new card as well because it turns out that particular collections agency didn't take American Express cards. What a bunch of bologna and a huge piano in the rear end. Terrible customer service and accountability for anything. I mean, can you even actually go to a physical Vivint store or do they exist solely by having people stop by and randomly try to sell you this crap like Napoleon Dynamite's uncle or whatever? Save yourself the hassle and money and go with something far more reputable than this junk. read more

I would not recommend Vivent to anyone!! They installed an alarm/video system in my house and it worked properly for about 2 weeks. The doorbell cameras and phone access did not work for very long. We called them out to come fix the problem and they said we would have to pay a service call..... EVEN THO THEIR EQUIPMENT WOULD NOT WORK!! We have had them come out more than once to fix their equipment. They left a huge mess in my attic of wires and lines which a later service guy cleaned up for me. I tried to get out of my contract but apparently we are locked in for a little bit longer. I will be rid of VIVENT just as soon as that contract is up!! We have had several alarm companies before but Vivent is the worst I have ever experienced!! Their equipment does not work and they are not reliable to fix it!! They will charge you to fix their stuff that does not work! Save yourself a headache and move on to the next company! read more

This is the worst security company that I have done business with. I had Vinvint for over 10 years before I started having problems. Once the problems started thier true colors showed. The sensors in my doors were constantly beeping. I changed the battery, as suggested when I called the company. They finally sent someone out to address the problem. Yes, they charged me $150.00 to change the battery in three sensors. Ok I didn't have a problem with paying, thought it was overpriced but that's ok it stopped the beeping. Guess what, two weeks later the beeping starts again. Called the company they sent out a representative he said the sensor were bad. Guess what, no refund for the first vist and I was charged another $150.00. I sent a letter to cancel my service. They charged my account and gave me the run around about a 30 day notice. Ok it has been 60 days since you received the cancellation email. I went to the bank and put a stop payment of the account for Vinvint. The bank was nice enough not to charge me the $25.00 fee for stop payments due to alot of customers having this same problem with Vinvint. One of the bank mangers had the same problem and she came out and talked to me. We decided to send a letter to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General. Come to find out they are on list at the BBB for bad businesses. I can tell anyone who wishes to do business with Vinvint "Run, run, run as fast as you can." read more
