We were looking for a hybrid car and we came across this place while searching online. We walked in…read moreand there was the biggest selection of well-kept Prius we've ever seen among other various brands. Although we are fans of new technologies we were not particularly Prius lovers nor did we have deep knowledge of how they work; therefore, we were a bit apprehensive about what to expect, how much would the battery last, how much it would be to repair or replace it or other hard to pronounce mechanical components that could go wrong etc...We still wanted a cutting edge technology, gas saver, reliable vehicle to drive long distances and we knew this one had the potential to fulfill all of these. As we were looking around with absolute no "salesman pressure" on the radar we narrowed down two or three models we were interested in knowing more about so we walked into the office and met the owners. David and Melina were the kindest, honest and dependable people we've ever met at a car dealership, they allowed us to test drive all the cars we wanted and answered all the questions we had; that's right, they answered and didn't ask us about anything; well, I just turned 50 and I've always had to do my own brainwash before walking into a car dealership to make sure they don't convince me about buying something I really don't know if I want or I'm not ready for; to my happiest surprise, this was very relaxing and refreshing! I've never experienced something like this. On the technical side, I am not a mechanic by any means but I like to tinker with cars and I've repaired some simple parts on some other vehicles we've had; given this background, I was very pleased to see that the owners actually knew about these hybrid vehicles very well, not only that, they also offer very convenient services for refurbishing or replacing the batteries and other preventive maintenance and they are very open about what any particular car requires in order to keep them in good conditions. So, in other words, this is a place where the owners like and know what they sell, believe in a pressure free are very proud of their service and are prepared to provide some basic maintenance and repairs for a very reasonable price. My girlfriend and I are very happy to have found this place and we strongly recommend it. We bought a 2009 Prius on November 2015, it's running very well so far and if it ever needs anything fixed or maintained, we will go straight to this place.

In the month that has followed, they have not acted honorable and have been dishonest. During the short test drive, I didn't notice any problems. However, problems started immediately after purchase. First, the key fob I was given was in pieces. It did not work. I was told that I could buy one online and get it programmed by a locksmith. Wrong! The only key fob you can get for this vehicle is from Nissan. The cost of the key fob and programming is $450.00. Second, as I drove off the lot, my daughter, who was following me, noticed that one of the tail lights did not work. I immediately called the dealer. I was told to take it to the garage they use in Walkertown. The entire tail light assembly was replaced. Now, the real trouble began. After driving a while and everything gets warmed up, the vehicle would jerk, jump, and slip whenever I made a turn. I thought something was wrong in the steering. Again, I was sent to the garage they use. They kept my vehicle for three days. When I picked it up, the mechanic said he replaced the right front axle, but that didn't fix the problem. He said that maybe it had something to do with the AWD. He said that he could not fix it. The Auto Store did not offer any solutions. I took the vehicle to Oakley's Auto Worx. Within five minutes, the problem had been diagnosed as the differential. According to them, this is a known issue for these vehicles. To replace the differential, it would cost more than $1,000.00. I agreed to have a service done on it in hopes that it would fix the problem. It did not. That cost $150.00. The Auto Store did not pay for that. On June 3rd, I notified The Auto Store that the differential needed to be replaced. I was told that it was covered under the warranty. I contacted CARS Plus Protection and was told that they had not received the contract nor the payment and, therefore, would not cover the repair. They also said that they would not cover the vehicle until the repair had been completed and proof had been sent to them, After this, The Auto Store refused to pay for the repair or even help with it. I was told that the vehicle was purchased "As Is" and they were not responsible. I found this strange as they agreed to repair it when I first notified them of the problem. Therefore, the vehicle is being repaired at my expense. The Auto Store was not as good as their word. I believe they found out what the problem was and did not want to pay the costs and had the mechanic say that he could not fix it. They also did not send in the warranty paperwork and payment in a timely manner which caused the repair to not be covered. The Auto Store made the buying process easy and they pleasant to deal with. However, when a problem arose, they turned into something totally different. I do not recommend them at all. Response to the owner of The Auto Store: As you already know, you were contacted. You were made aware of everything from the beginning. You were advised of everything that was done and said. This had nothing to do with the warranty and everything to do with your integrity (or lack thereof). Perhaps had you not withheld payment of the warranty, it would have paid for the repair. But, you did, and it didn't. In any case, you now have the bill for the repair. Hopefully, you will be honorable and reimburse me for the repair. However, based on your previous actions, I do not expect anything. If you do, I will amend my reviews.

After my fiance took me to work, I started looking on the internet for nearby mechanics. I found Crossroads Ford and realized it was only two miles from my home. I gave them a call, told them what was going on, and they offered suggestions right there over the phone. Excellent! I decided to get the car towed in, so I called Kernersville Towing and learned they do all of the towing for Crossroads Ford. They stated they could come get the car the next morning and take it over to the mechanic. The next morning, I had already gone to work when I received a call from the towing company stating that they had picked up the car and were on the way to Crossroads Ford. Later that day, I gave Crossroads Ford a call and learned that my car had been completed. The price was well below what I was expecting and, when I went to pick up the car, they even offered free coffee and/or water. I well definitely be back in the future, if the need arises!

The sunroof was painted over and I assumed someone wanted to black out the glass however, when removing the paint I discovered it was cracked all the way from one side to the other. The AC lasted about two weeks before having completely ran out of coolant and only pushing hot air. There was a serious leak. No one had advised me of. The transmission immediately started shifting rough about a week after the purchase. rough transmissions are a known problem to my car. However, this transmission is now on its very last legs. There was only one crash report on the Carfax, and it was a minor fender bender in a parking lot, which is what the dealer had told me had happened, it wasn't until my bumper came off by itself, and I removed it. I could see that this car was in a much greater crash than what was on the report. A majority of people probably know this, but if you don't, these cars are straight from auction to lot with minor maintenance involved. you'd be better off going to the auction house yourself that requires no bidders license. I have no doubt that they sell cars that are in good condition but I don't think they are very open about the ones that aren't. And what's very unfortunate is that people who can't afford newer cars and need to settle for something cheaper but end up having to pay for repairs, I'm probably gonna end up having to put 4 to 6 grand into my car to fix its problems. Transmission and AC repair cost more than what I paid for the car. Which is only an issue when the problems aren't reported to you when purchasing. If I can update this post with a picture of the cracked roof I will but for now my car is having to get service done for about the fifth time. In a year and a half.
