So, we ordered delivery from Vocelli's Pizza for the first time tonight and it will be the last. Such a disappointment. We ordered two pepperoni stromboli. The food arrived within the time frame, but it was cold when it got here. The boxes were literally leaking oil. Vocelli's boast about their cheese being great, but you can't taste it because it's almost all pepperoni and oily bread. My first bite was only oil and chewy bread. Marinara was completely cold. A waste of money. No kid menu online, so I ordered chicken tenders for them. They were cold and looked weird and flat, liked they were baked and the pictures online show different kind of tenders like you'd get from Hardees. The kids, at 6yr old and 4 yr old questioned them and they will eat anything. They didn't finish those and we couldn't finish ours. I'm going back to Fabio's where they understand hot, portionable, and ratios of Italian food. One thing that came cold, that was supposed to, was the ice-cold Pepsi. On top of all that...the delivery driver was straight up rude, which has prompted me to write this review in the first place. I live in an apartment complex and the building numbers are on the side of every building. Never had a problem before. There are signs too letting you know which buildings have which numbers. I watched him pass by, then pass by again before calling us. My husband picked up the phone and you can hear the guy flipping out over the phone. We could see him from our balcony and tried to give him directions and he just got a little more hostile with each direction, and there was only TWO of them. We had to repeat each direction for him, several times, because he would keep talking through the directions. I could hear him hollering at my husband across the room, "I don't see you, do you see me? Where are you? I don't know where you are!!" My husband had to go out and flag him down, then, came back in because he thought the delivery guy got it from there, and still, at the end of the pathway to our apartment, clearly labeled doors and building, the guy was still confused. He yelled, "where'd you go?!" My husband opened the door and was like, "right here, it's okay." He got to the door, he was upset still complaining on how he couldn't find us, loudly, and was a little more than obnoxious about it. His demeanor and his way of handling it was not good customer service. read more

I have lived all over the United States and Vocelli's Pizza is my favorite that I have found anywhere. When I moved to Charlottesville and found that a Vocelli's was in town, I knew I had made the right decision to move here. The traditional crust is thin and slightly crispy, the toppings are fresh, and the cannolis are to die for! Also, the employees provide good service and are friendly. One time when I ordered a couple pizzas, drinks, and cannolis, they forgot to bring the cannolis. They apologized and came back with a double-order free-of-charge. I don't know what these people below are talking about. I recently moved here to Charlottesville and have only ordered from Vocelli's after eating there once. I've tried the Greek salad, which is great for lunch or dinner side to share. The chicken tenders were hot, quick, and the buffalo sauce was the perfect dipper. I ordered a spring veggie pizza that was cheesy, vegetables were tasty, and most importantly it was hot and just enough pizza sauce. I'd recommend to anyone. Management is personable, local, and very friendly. Will continue to order here. read more

I've had Vocelli Pizza before but not from here. I was staying in a hotel and had one delivered. One of the worse pizzas I've ever had. I got the Grande Thin and Crispy. It was definitely thin but nowhere near crispy. The pizza was very soggy and I couldn't pull apart the slices as it all stuck together. If it wasn't so late at night I would have called back and told them they either owed by money back or a new pizza. read more

Tried Vocelli's for the first time last night. Standard crust was excellent tasting dough. Had veges for toppings; all were fresh and plentiful. This is my go to pizza takeout for the future. Put them on my phone. Can't wait to try some of their other offerings. Judging from the pizza, this place knows how to make a good product and performs. read more

I went and got a Stromboli for lunch one day. I got salami and mushroom in it and I thought it was tasty and the dough had a not so dense texture to it. There was a lot of cheese in the Stromboli and not too much grease which was a plus. I even had a piece of my buddy's Hawaiian pizza and was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely recommended this pizza place. I just wish you could sit down and eat but it's a take out place so I understand. I'll try something else next time. read more

The first time I ordered delivery from here, it was great. The delivery person was so nice and the pizza was delicious. Pizza was hot, the crust was thick and perfect. The second time I ordered (yesterday) the experience was far different. The order was at my house in good time, the communication for online ordering was perfect. The delivery person was kind. The food: the pizza did not have a center plastic thing and the top was crushed in so that the top of the inside of the pizza box completely smashed the pizza. The buffalo boneless wings were mostly coating, really hot, and seemed like a frozen item thrown in the fryer and then coated in butter and buffalo sauce. The salad: I ordered the Garden Della Casa. I've never seen more olives or cheese in one salad in my life. There was hardly any lettuce anywhere. There were also a ton of red onions. I've a big fan of all things vegetable and not a picky eater, but the salad was hard to eat. I doubt we will be ordering again from this restaurant, which is sad. read more

The delivery guy complained how far the hotel is and they don't deliever here since this place is across town but the website keeps putting orders through. This is a college town, where there are few decent pizza choices. Go figure. We had Vocelli's delivered the other night through Campus Take-out. It arrived quickly. The salad was fresh, and tasty. The pizza was still warm, and was as good as any in town. I liked the little pepperonis. For the price, you can't beat Vocelli's around here for good pizza and salads. More a 3.5 out of 5 stars! It's delicious pizza, but it's not memorable nor exceptional. I had Vocelli's Pizza a couple times, not at the restaurant, but for deliveries. My favorite pizza is their Quattro Cheese Pizza. It is a blend of mozzarella, feta, Pecorino Romano, and cheddar cheese with red pizza sauce. The feta added a really unique taste to it- it gave it a nice tang of flavor that differentiates this cheese pizza from other cheese pizzas I've had in the past. The Meat Magnifico pizza is decent, too. It's a dense, hearty pizza that is quite satisfying. Overall, however, I find that while Vocelli's is tasty, it lacks a certain attraction. The dough and the sauce are delicious, but they're not all that different from other cheap pizza places like Domino's. I definitely enjoyed the pizza from the events I attended that served it but it's not quite enough to get me to order it myself. Not bad, but not exceptional either. read more

I always order delivery, so no experience in-store. Pizza is the best I've found in Charlottesville. I'm from Michigan and this is the closest I could find to what I'm used to. The bread sticks are awesome too! Ordered the cheese bread once and was disappointed, so stick with the breadsticks. Delivery is always fast and friendly! read more

I think Vocelli's is the best franchise pizza joint: good pizza and a lot of other dishes like pasta and cannoli that the other franchises don't offer. Delivery is a crap shoot at any pizza joint. They might be getting slammed and/or you might have a brand new driver who is frustrated and getting lost. Vocelli's will send another order for free if you are unhappy with your order. They also have cutlery and napkins they will give upon request. read more

After seeing their commercials I wanted to try a slice. I stopped into their store and was unimpressed by the appearance of the store. I waited at the counter for five minutes and no one greeted me. Then out of nowhere some kid wearing pajamas comes in and slams the door behind him. Then whoever was in the kitchen comes out and the first guy comes behind the counter and is clearly drunks hungover. "I have such a headache" he says to his friend and they talk to each other for a minute. Still no one acknowledged me being there ready to spend money for your product....unprofessional you should fire whoever came into your store wearing pjs and apparently works there. My husband and I have Vocelli's often. Normally we get Stromboli and salad which is always awesome. The rolls are a great snack or appetizer to share. Pepperoni pizza is good, but the Garlic Spinaci is delicious, one of the best white pizzas I've had (we didn't get onion or tomato though). Absolutely delicious!
