If you want authentic pizza, made by Italians, that are off the boat from Italy, then this is your place! I came here from a co-workers recommendation since I was explaining the challenge of finding good pizza in the area. I grew up in NJ and have traveled multiple times to Italy...so I'd like to believe I can recognize good pizza when I find it. Ciro's (not part of a chain) did not disappoint! They also make Gluten Free pizza for those that have dietary restrictions We came in and had the lunch special of two 1-topping slices and a small drink for $4.99. The pizza was hot and tasty! The owners were quite friendly and came out to chat with us a bit. The service was good and the place is quaint! There is a beautiful outdoor dining area with a covered awning and beautiful flowers! Ordered two meatball specials: cheese, peppers, mushrooms, onions, and sauce. Got a heck of a lot of cheese, over powering, actually, VERY sparse amount of sauce, 2 meatballs. Absolutely no onions, peppers, or mushrooms. I'm ticked. I chose Ciros because they always put out quality food and 3 bites in and reviewing their menu, I knew I'd been had. I will not order another sub from them. If I wanted cheese bread, I could have made it at home. Never again. read more

Don't order pizza by the slice! This was so gross! I took the one bite, and tossed it in the trash. I actually ended up eating one of those Celeste pizzas you get from the grocery store for a dollar, and it was better than this. We ordered two slices and a sandwich, and got it delivered even though we live 0.4 miles away, and we still tipped $10. The cheese slice they put my toppings on was so old it seemed like it was made yesterday, and the sprinkle of cold cheese, lunchmeat, and peppers were cold and not cooked. His sandwich was ok, but the fries were cold mush; I mean come on, at least sprinkle a little salt on those awful things! But no; cold, soggy, flavorless mush. I should also add that this is 2025, so this is after they were bought and have new management. Do better, Ciro's! read more

Yum yum yum. Hubby and I stopped in here for a Quick snack so we ordered the chicken wings and mozzarella sticks. Delicious! I've never had wings with that much breading but they were freaking delicious. Crunchy, not soggy, just like I like em' lol. If we lived in this area we would definitely make this place a regular restaurant. Aside from the food, the employees were super friendly. Overall it was a pleasant experience. Nice people, awful spaghetti. Got a lunch portion which weighed about 5 lbs. The spaghetti barely had sauce, just so much noodle and cheese. They melted a thick layer of cheese on top of the spaghetti for some reason. And I love cheese, but it was not traditional and the cheese just turns into one solid blanket instead of mixing with the noodles. It was all strange. Service was fine however. Hands down my wife & I's favorite pizza place. We lived in Harrisonburg and we love this location so much it was worth the drive. We now own a home in Staunton so we come here way more often. We LOVE the 2 medium 1 topping pizzas for $14.99 special on Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday. Great philly steak lunch special too. ***If you have leftover pizza at home put a small amount of oil in a skillet over LOW heat to warm it right up melts the cheese and makes the crust deliciously crunchy. 1000% better than using the microwave. read more

The food was mediocre, but the service was good. The pizza was not cooked well, it was really doughy. The fries were unsalted and rather bland. The calzone was just barely cooked, the dough was very light and doughy, and even the inside wasn't cooked enough - - definitely needed a few more minutes at least in the oven. The bathrooms could definitely use some cleaning, and they were out of the wall soap and had bottles of non-antibacterial hand soap which isn't sanitary. The service was great though, the people were very nice. We expected good food because of the good Yelp reviews, but we were disappointed. read more

Ciro's was the best pizza in the burg all through college. And it was just a laid back spot to get carryout or sit down. I would drive there instead of getting delivery from somewhere else. Moved to Colorado about 8 years ago and my last trip back to JMU was 6 years ago, but my wife and I still know for a fact it's the best pizza we've ever had. Anywhere. We ordered a pizza to go in this cute pizzeria and were not disappointed. We added 5 toppings for the max amount of deliciousness: onion, green peppers, mushrooms, chicken, and bacon. Ciro's put just the right amount of each toppings and left my belly really happy. I was super full after two slices. What elevated our experience was the friendly staff. This is the second time we have gotten pizza from ciros that has had all of the cheese and toppings completely slid off to one side because someone clearly sat the pizzas sideways. They refused to give us a refund, with the owner saying, and I quote, "I'm sure it's edible and you can deal with it." The first time this happened, we were told we would have a credit for a free pizza the next time, but when we ended up inquing about it they refused to give us said credit. Great food! My boyfriend and I order from here regularly (at least twice a week) for delivery. They aren't the fastest sometimes but they ARE the best plus we don't mind waiting for excellence with no delivery charge. The food is great (we favor the chicken Alfredo, wings, steak & cheese subs WITH jalapeños and of course, pizza). I went out on a limb the other night and ordered the chicken Parmesan, which, wasn't the best but mainly because the chicken was way over cooked (hard and crunchy). When I was a little girl, my mom would take my sisters and me to Ciro's on rare occasions as a treat. No matter what we ordered, from calzones to pizza to steak subs, everything was delicious. We moved away, then when I turned 19, I moved back to the valley and Ciro's was just as good as I had remembered. In a few years I married and moved away, but my husband and I visited Ciro's every time we came back to the valley to visit. It stayed consistently delicious. We finally moved back a few years ago, and Ciro's remains a family favorite. We enjoy taking our sons there to eat. The service is wonderful, the restaurant is clean, and the food is just as delicious as it ever was! I've never known a restaurant that serves food as consistently delicious for as many years as Ciro's has, and we will continue to visit for their fabulous food.
