We stopped here for lunch while walking back from the Borghese Museum to our hotel near the Pantheon. It says gluten free menu but they have both gluten free and a regular menu. We wanted pizza and they had many options. The crust is thin and it was nice and crispy. Lots of cheese and toppings. We split two pizzas among 4 people and it was enough for lunch for all of us. They are extremely aware of all of the implications surrounding the disease and have worked some type of magic to turn everything on the menu into a gluten free adaptable dish. My boyfriend has never tried garlic bread and we were able to share a cheesy garlic bread with bruschetta and I could not taste the difference. Well this was not what we expected. After looking on yelp for a decently priced dinner joint close to our hotel, we landed on Voglia Di Pizza. What a letdown. Strike 1: The only available table was by the restroom. So constantly had people rattling door handle and having to tell them someone was in there, not ideal but okay, it's a big city and small spaces. Strike 2: We ordered two pastas: one penne and one gnocchi. Both came out as spaghetti. Our waitress said they were out of penne for the one dish but didn't explain the other dish. Strike 3: Turns out she just got our order wrong and didn't want to fix it. Also, why didn't she let us know BEFORE our food was on our table that they were out of penne? Strike 4: The table next to us broke a glass before we had even ordered and it hadn't been cleaned up before we left. Good news is it was fairly priced and food was decent. read more

Right when we walked in, the waitress asked if either of us had a gluten sensitivity or celiac, and proceeded to give me a full gluten free menu! Wow!! I already felt safe with my food allergies! Let me tell you, we ate here all 3 nights we were in Rome because it was so darn good. First night, I got the tuna tomato GF pizza without cheese and second night I got the same with added zucchini! HOLY COW! Honestly this was the best gluten free pizza I've ever had. Ever. The crust was crispy and soft at the same time, and they LOADED up the pizza with toppings. Massive portion as well for only €11. My stomach was so happy both nights! Third night, I got the GF Penne Rucola e Gamberi (shrimp, tomato, and rocket). INCEDIBLE!!! I was speechless. We've here on several trips. Our son has a gluten allergy. He loves this place. He thinks it's amazing. According to him the pizzas and pasta are miracles. (He's in his 20s and since his diagnosis has missed good pasta and pizza so you can go imagine his excitement to enjoy high quality gluten free pasta and pizza. My wife and I think so too - and we don't eat gluten free pasta or pizza - so we get the regular menu. On this trip it's just the two of us spending two weeks in Rome just being. This is a place is close to our B&B. It has basically zero atmosphere. The pasta is not fresh but the pasta is exceptionally well prepared, served HOT, and many of the sauces are very good. This is a pizza, pasta, and salad place. I'm scoring it based on what it tries to be. I'm not a fan of their cacio & pepe but others like it. I like the following: 1) Pomororo, 2) pesto, and 3) aglio, olio & peperoncino. but all the others I've had have been very good. Again, this is not some place with atmosphere or romance. This place is about pizza and pasta. They do it well for a good price. (Yes, lots of Italians eating here!) There are nicer places; there are more romantic places; there are places with far better atmosphere. However, if you're near the campo de Fiori and want pasta - and especially if someone in your group has issues with gluten then DEFINITELY give this place a try. read more

No, not really; but does it offer a decent snack or lunch in a bind - by all means. Two things to consider: (1) steer away from the roasted vegetable antipasti - it's a bit over cooked and under flavored; and (2) the prosciutto pizza is super salty . . . good, but really salt-lick-like! All and all, this is a decent enough place - but there are far better restaurants around Rome that will accommodate GF eaters. Voglia di Pizza served me simply the best gluten free pizza + gluten free calzone I've ever had. Why two items? The sausage pizza was so good I had to go back the next day for a calzone. The sausage pizza was cooked well, loaded with cheese, and the sausage was delicious. I haven't eaten pizza even remotely close to this good since I stopped eating gluten. The calzone was similarly delicious -- it was both stuffed with and topped with prosciutto and cheese. There had to have been at least a pound of mozzarella cheese inside/on the calzone. It reminded me in a lot of ways of good cheese breadsticks you'd find in the US. It was so unbelievably well textured I had to verify with the waitress it was actually gluten free. My wife had the baked sausage on our first visit, it wasn't particularly exciting, but it was good and was served with a small salad. On our second trip, she ordered the "#4" salad -- it was huge, covered in prosciutto and cheese, and was very good. For dessert on our second trip, she tried the gluten free Cheesecake, which was delicious. The restaurant also offered a locally made gluten-free beer which was great as well. Prices are extremely reasonable -- I ate here, with more than enough food, more cheaply than I can eat out back home in San Francisco -- less than €30 on our second trip for a large calzone, large salad, 1 liter of water and a Sprite. Service was excellent, very attentive and nice. Everyone we encountered in the restaurant spoke English well enough for ordering/serving purposes. Only one negative thing to say -- I ordered my calzone without mushrooms, and it came out with mushrooms. The server was apologetic, but I told her I was fine picking them out. read more

If you are gluten free, it's worth whatever it takes to get here and try this pizza. I have lots of gluten free pizza options in my home town, but NOTHING I've had compares. The pizza dough is house made, and wood fired just like the "normal" pizzas, resulting in a crispy yet chewy crust with the cracker like bottom in places. In other words, pizza like I never thought I could eat without getting very ill. The topping choices are wide and the service is friendly. They have a full gluten free menu with appetzers, pizza, and pasta. I had the Suppli, which was delicious. I usually watch my friends share suppli at our favorite Italian spot in the US; NOT TONIGHT! Little place on the corner of some shopping area in Rome. We stopped here after a long day of tours and it was on the way back to where we were staying. We sat down at a table outside and we asked for some water and ice. We of course we looked at funny for the ice. Eh, I'm American it happens. We orders chicken and potatoes as well as gnocchi. The gnocchi was in a tomato sauce and it was delicious. The best part of that meal was the tiramisu. It was BOMB.COM. We eventually came back and order a cheese pizza to go. So many pizza place in Roma, so little time. It had a crisp crust and it was just the right amount of cheese. They also of course couldn't understand when i was asking for crushed peppers. I wish i spoke Italian, I felt bad cause I keep saying the same thing like an idiot, but they eventually go the point. The staff was nice and just let us do our thing. The best gluten-free pizza on the planet. Even in Rome, paradise for celiacs, GF pizza is usually just-ok. That's because they can't use their big, hot, fancy Italian pizza oven for the GF ones -- those have to go on a sad little metal pan. Except at this place, because they have a dedicated proper pizza oven just for GF. If you aren't in the mood for pizza, don't come here. It's called "Desire for Pizza." Everything else is fine but not great. [Edit: Actually, I had the spaghetti with white ragù recently and it was also very good.] If you want fancy service or surroundings, don't come here. The space is utilitarian and the staff are matter-of-fact. Unlike the over-the-top smarmy waiters in the tourist traps, the servers here just want to get you your amazing gluten-free pizza. If you come here a lot, like most places in Italy, the staff will quickly get to know you and be more friendly. "A lot" being, like, twice in a week. The regular pizza is also amazing. Both are the Roman style, very thin crust. Everyone speaks enough English to handle the complexities of ordering pizza. It wouldn't kill you to try your few words of Italian, even if it's just "per favore" and "grazie." read more

My husband's regular pasta came eventually and my gluten-free pizza came 5-10 minutes later. He tried to be polite and wait for me but eventually ate as he didn't want his meal to get cold.
