The play we watch was called Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day! The play was excellent. The performance was beyond good all the kids loved it . I really enjoyed also . The singing and the acting was very good for a small theater in Roseville. They are very talented. On the way out I seen that they have more plays coming like a SpongeBob musical .I would definitely want to come back with my other son and my husband to check it out. I seen that they had a snack bar. It was not open at the time of the field trip but I'm assuming it is for regular plays so that would be nice to check out. . Overall, it was a fun time. My son had never been to a theater or seen a play before, so it was fun to experience that with him.! I would like to come back and enjoy with the rest of my family and try out the food. I had bought her a Rumi Halloween outfit and she wore it to the circus. She was so excited when they came on stage. All the kids were singing to the Golden song. It was well worth the money to get vip seating. After their show they had pictures for $20 with the K-pop singers. My granddaughter is shy, so for her to be the first one up there for pictures tells you how excited she was. The circus performers were awesome, and the juggler was pretty amazing.

Where we sat, it was also hard to understand or hear some of the music and singing. Our show had lots of seats open so we moved seats and we were able to hear better and stay cooler. They had various acts with singing and comedic/clown acts in between. It was entertaining. Some parts seemed a little slow. The best act was the finale with the motorcycles. That was amazing!

The only real complaint was that the performance was supposed to be at the outside theater and so we bought chairs and brought them for this show... but as soon as we arrived at the outdoor theater, there was a small sign telling us it had been moved indoors. Back to the car (there was 7 of us) hauling our chairs to put them back then to walk down the street. Now we don't mind that it was moved inside because it was literally 105 outside and we wondering how the performance was going to go.......the complaint is that the theater people who we bought the tickets through should have emailed people who bought tickets to let them know ahead of time. We wouldn't have bought or brought chairs. That being said, again, great show.

The kids support and encourage one another, (despite age differences, and regardless of roles). For shows, they are paired up with buddies who can walk them through the process or send them encouraging notes, etc. they focus on character development, and how kids learn what I would consider to be important qualities, such as discipline, resilience, kindness, etc. Even the parents get to join in on the fun, as parent involvement/volunteering is required for shows. I've really enjoyed connecting with other theater moms and dads and working together on parent teams. I also like that parents are not involved in the classes. That means if your kid wants to do theater and you don't have the time to volunteer, you still have options for them. The teachers are passionate and highly capable. From what I've seen, they are immensely talented in their own fields. Each time one of my children takes a class, they definitely come away knowing more than they went in knowing, and it shows in their performances. Our oldest child has been involved with CYT over the past couple of years, and we have seen great growth in her singing and dance abilities, as well as her drive and work-ethic. We're definitely excited to introduce the siblings to CYT.

With Shakespeare you can reiterate it however you want since it is public domain. But because of this fact they should've taken into account that majority of the actors auditioning for this show were not the correct ethnicity for such a setting. If they were locked in on their iteration, then they should have done a call for actors of Middle Eastern and African decent. This is appalling in 2026. Do better.

"Word up" about buying tickets: do NOT buy the floor (white) seats UNLESS you can get the front row. The seats behind the very front row have NO view, and the people in front of you in this section who used their cell phones to record ABOVE their heads blocked our view even further. We were straining our necks, and bobbing left and right just to to try to see a few kiddos in each of the performances. It was further frustrating to be additionally blocked by these people in front of us who were holding their cell phones up above their heads. Why are people so thoughtless? The director CLEARLY stated "no cell phone recording", but these people felt entitled to do as they pleased and to heck with those of us behind them . What a great dance school, and WOW, such talented kiddos! We'll return again, but we'll make sure to book better seats for sure next time.
