Not typically the one to post anything about restaurants, but we came to valcano in Odessa today, the man who was taking our order recommended a sushi roll he said the one he suggested was a favorite or highly liked, so I agreed to try it, after receiving the roll I was unsatisfied with the it . I spoke to the man and told him he could take it back I wanted to get something else, when he went and spoke with the lady on the video she gave our table an extremely ugly look and never came to speak with us. I would have been happy to get something else of equal value or I believe the roll I did want originally was slightly more expensive. Instead he took my drink filled it up never spoke to us after, then gave us the ticket and still charged for a roll we didn't eat. The women never tried to fix the problem. I'd understand if I wanted you to take off the tab or I had been the one to pick the roll , but to not even speak to us just ugly looks the whole time I didn't quite understand bc we weren't rude about it I just said I wasn't pleased with what I had received and that I'd like somthing else read more

We're from the San Francisco Bay Area which has lots of excellent sushi, so to be honest we were a little suspect about going to a sushi restaurant in West Texas. However, they truly delivered! The fish in my nigiri sushi was fresh, tender, and tasty. The presentation, which included a cool little statuette on platter, was good. The darker dining color motif is certainly reminiscent of an established sushi house legitimatized with authentic sushi chefs prepping sushi dishes behind a sushi counter. Since it was early evening, we didn't order much. But what we did order was nothing short of spectacular: Hot Green Tea, Steamed Pork Gyoza, Tempura Shrimp Roll, Cali Roll, Salmon Skin Roll. (See pictures - didn't get a photo of the steamed gyoza though - it was outstanding). Customer service was extremely attentive as my guest has a peanut allergy. It has several veggies, cream cheese, spicy sauce. Serrano sauce on the side. Seaweed salad and green tea. So delicious and filling! The service is perfect! Very nice and attentive wait staff. There was some confusion after we were seated as none of the servers knew they had our table. Poor front of the house management. Noticed a lot of confusion amoung the servers in general. I came here in the afternoon with my parents on the recommendation of our shuttle driver. The atmosphere is very cozy, and the place was nearly empty when we walked in. We were seated immediately and given drinks, and the girl gave us the perfect amount of time to look at the menus before asking for our orders. We ordered seaweed salad, hot and sour soup, the Pink Lady Roll, Philly Roll, Crispy Shrimp Rainbow Roll, and the Volcano Burrito. The presentation was unbelievable. Everything was brought out on separate plates (according to who ordered what), and there were beautiful designs on the plates with the sauces served with each roll. I sometimes worry that the presentation of food often comes with a price (the food's taste). That was hardly the case. We shared all of the rolls, and I found that they were all delicious. The fish was very good quality, and clearly very fresh. And the sushi burrito was absolutely unreal! Fish and rice wrapped in rice paper, served with a dipping sauce. For dessert we ordered strawberry fried ice cream. It was just as delicious as the main course. I just wish I had gotten a picture of it. The place was not incredibly pricey, but not cheap either. The entire meal cost us $70.58. That includes seaweed salad, hot and sour soup, 1 regular Roll, 3 chef special rolls, and 1 dessert. I will definitely be coming back again. read more

Went here to eat during my puppy's grooming service and it was so nice! The tables were clean & there was a wide variety of foods to choose from on the menu. I wish they had some background music or something playing though; I felt my meal oddly quiet.
