Best bubble tea place in Denver for sure! My boyfriend is Taiwanese and he said this is one of the best places that has bubble tea like how it is in Taiwan! I've tried a few of their milk teas since that's my go to and none have disappointed me! I always get the regular milk tea to compare then go from there. I've tried hazelnut, almond, and Hokkaido. I didn't even know what Hokkaido was but man I am hooked! It's so yummy!!!! The pearls are perfect and they have sooo many other toppings to choose from. I like the mini but I'll do the regular and the egg pudding! So legit. They have some weird toppings in there too that I've never seen before like mochi but I like the idea! They usually have samples out so I go crazy with that. They also have the light bulb that everyone likes! Besides the drink, you gotta try the food! Popcorn chicken is a thing in Taiwan so we get that and my boyfriend says it's pretty darn close! They have different spice levels. I like the hot but we usually do medium since my bf is a wuss. Ordered winter melon in the bulb cup ($5.99) for purchase, two other drinks, and mixed of popcorn chicken and sweet potato fries in mild. My winter melon was super sweet. As you can see in pic, it was not filled up all the way. I asked to give me a lil more tea to balance out the sweetness. Instead of pouring more tea as I requested, she filled it w water from the sink. My popcorn chicken was spicy and was not mild, my baby couldnt eat any. Not only it was spicy, but I pulled out a long strand of hair in front of them. They made me a new one, but it was gross. Went out of my way to check out this place. It's a small little shop in Aurora in the H-Mart area. It's filled with cutesie decor (think stuffed animal pillows and decorated plugs). + Tried the blended Japanese matcha, which had a good taste however it did taste heavily like the powder + Lots of seating + Aesthetic feel with the wall art + Plenty of options on the menu. I saw an ad on a new restaurant serving Lanzhou ramen. When we stopped by, we realized it is the same location as Volcano Tea House. They had a small sign on the window to alert the customer you're at the right place. They started serving Chinese style ramen inside about 6 months ago. It is more like a self served type of environment. You order your meal as you would order your boba. We ordered a beef brisket noodles, beef shank noodles, and a strawberry smoothie ( not pictured due to hoarding by toddler). The flavors were quite bland. My husband had to add a lot of chilli oil. They gave a lot of noodles and a decent amount of meat. The meat wasn't very tender and lacking in flavor. Overall, it was nothing spectacular. The strawberry smoothie tasted very artificial and watered down. It was an expensive drink but I don't think they used real fruits to prepare. I definitely had better bobas and smoothies elsewhere, especially since there are a plethora of boba shops in Denver. read more

Very cute place to bring a date! Just wish the drinks were better tasting. To be fair, it always takes a little time to perfect the recipes in a new establishment. I ordered the green tea flavored with mango and egg pudding, my hubby ordered his usual milk tea with grass jelly and my friend ordered black tea with boba. We also got some popcorn chicken! As some of the other reviewers commented, I agree that the tea is a bit bland and the egg pudding was more jello-y than creamy/soft. My husband said his drink was just OK and the chicken was salty. Yay! Another boba franchise has made it to Colorado. Back at UCLA, I used to get Volcano pretty regularly so this location opening up got me all nostalgic. First thing you'll notice is that the interior is SO CUTE! Everything is so bright and Instagram-worthy from the geometric wallpaper to the cute pastel tables and chairs. They currently don't have the traditional panel-style menu that all of the other boba places here have, but they have a small laminated menu in front of the register. I ordered one of my all-time faves, Hokkaido milk tea. Hokkaido milk tea is supposed to emulate the flavor of Hokkaido milk which is sweeter and creamier than regular milk. It has a caramel-y flavor and I enjoyed Volcano's rendition a lot. I ordered it with egg pudding which was also really good. My boyfriend ordered their house milk tea with tiny boba and coconut jelly. He liked the milk tea, but didn't care for the toppings too much. Coming from Phoenix and Houston, one of the things I missed regularly was a decent place for milk teas and snacks like basil popcorn chicken. That's why I was so excited to come check Volcano Tea House out, when it just opened for a few weeks. I showed up around 11am on a Saturday and was the only one there, besides the staff. Normally I would go with my usual order, house milk tea, half or 3/4 sweet with coffee jelly and sometimes adding a side of popcorn chicken; if I'm feeling extra "fluffy" that day. For that visit, I decided to change it up and order a Hokkaido milk tea instead. Sadly, it was disappointing. Not only it was super sweet (that was kinda my fault for forgetting to request a lower level of sweet), the milk tea itself has a strange flavor that I wasn't into. So much for feeling adventurous that day. Next time I'll stick with what I know would taste good. Overall, the staff was nice. They have a cute and simple decor. I can see parking can be a bit tight, if they get busy. So good to have Volcano coming to Denver!! I love the Volcano in Los Angelas and this one in Denver didn't disappoint me! Their interior design is supper cute and makes me comfy. The pinky wall and the wings are really special and many customers take pictures there. So as me! Here must be a wonderful place for hanging out with families and friends and having a tea time. Also, the owner and coworkers are friendly and nice. They asked us about suggestions and how we like the teas and foods. I have been there three times for teas and their snacks! Their popcorn chicken is so good as well as the fish tofu. My friend ordered their lobster balls and she like those too. I tried the mild spicy and it's really good to me. After going to Mini Moo's earlier in the day on my way back from Park Meadows, I came here to meet a friend, to be greeted by the exact same taste as earlier in the day- deja vu, if you will. Bubbles are pretty standard, not honey bubbles, and the interior is alright- to be honest, a cheap attempt at emulating trendiness. Disclaimer: I hail from the land of honey boba (California) and have a different set of tea and tapioca expectations. I'm new to Denver, and while there are many things I absolutely love about being here... Oh, how I miss a good tea and tender, slightly sweetened boba. So I set out for the very first time to satiate this craving. Volcano Tea is nestled in a predominantly Asian shopping complex next to a KBBQ restaurant. Totally promising there. The Oolong and Jasmine teas were not bad, but also weren't memorable. I was however pleasantly surprised with the Winter Melon, which was very true to taste, and the Matcha Green tea which did not seem to skimp on the macha. Sweetness and ice are also customizable. As for the boba, it was slightly sweetened, not very flavored, and the texture was unfortunately sub-par. It was a little hard in the middle, either slightly undercooked or a little old. Either way, it only partially satisfied my boba craving. Bottom line: I'll probably return because boba options are slim in this area. Well to do, but not high on my boba list. read more

So I stopped here with my wife so she could grab a tea. I waited in the car and when she came back out she was telling me that they also had a small food menu that includes hand pulled or hand shaved noodles. We are originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, and we have had real hand pulled noodles in Chinatown. It is definitely something we miss from back home. If you have ever had real hand pulled noodles it is a real treat, especially when done correctly. Well don't be fooled by this place, because they are definitely serving manufactured chow mein style noodles that they just heat up. The meat that they served with it was also quite dry, with a lot of tendon. We also got an order of the char siu bao and these also seem to be like any you could buy at H Mart or POM and just heat up at home. There bubble tea is OK. Not the best, not the worst. Parking is tight more often than not so beware. I'd recommend going earlier in the day or not on weekends. The place is cute overall but not super impressive (I could get everything in there from Ikea but nothing wrong with that). The drinks are ok - sometimes it has its good days and other times, well, not so great. Drinks often feel rushed and unfinished. For example, drinks like the house milk tea taste watered down and other drinks like lavender milk tea aren't mixed enough so it tastes very grainy/powdery. Really love the toppings though and I would recommend rose milk tea. When made right its the perfect combination between sweet and not too sweet + it's a unique flavor (at least to me). The chicken tastes pretty good but overall wouldn't really recommend getting the food. I've found it to be a waste of money to be honest. Seems like each time I've ordered, I get lots and lots of food bits, seasoned dust, and a whole bunch of nothing. Customer service here I'd say is the biggest disappointment. Workers come off as kind of rude. They seem more interested in their phones or talking to each other than working with the customer. The feeling of being ignored is not an uncommon one. There are a few nice workers but the majority always makes me feel pressured to order right away because I'm bothering them. Overall unfriendly attitude... I may give it a couple more chances but I feel like there are better places to go to if you have the time! read more

This was the first tea place where I was charged to add boba in my taro milk tea. I was surprised why are they charging me for it but I saw they had multiple toppings to add to milk tea. We had taken a quick take out and the tea was tasted fresh and perfect, not too sugary or strong! The place has a pleasant ambiance with some nice seating area inside. I've had some up and down experiences here. On a good day, it's by far the best boba in Colorado. On a bad day, the texture is off and it tastes artificial. I think they don't make it fresh throughout the day, so it sometimes sits and that's why I've had such varied experiences. Came here looking for our first boba tea experience and had an amazing one! We walked in and were overwhelmed by the options and asked questions. We asked about what is certain things and then also recommendations. What we got was a great attentive experience (no one in line so he warmed up and took the time to help us mid day). We got samples of what a popping boba was which is a slimy tapioca pocket of flavor, like if you were to only eat the center of a gusher. I enjoyed a green tea with mango and thoroughly enjoyed it. The parking lot is a bit difficult with potholes and needs repair but overall very cool spot (worth noting that it is in an Asian shopping center) and yet we saw a variety of ethnicities during our 10 min stop. read more

I 'ordered' a watermelon juice here, only to have both the barista and cashier tell me that they don't have watermelon juice, only watermelon slushes, which is the exact opposite of what the menu says. I told them that that was fine and that I would take the slush, but they somehow misunderstood and took it as me saying I didn't want it. After waiting for a while, I asked the cashier if my drink was being made and he told me that I did not place the order, and he was backed up by his barista. Been to Volcano for many times. Overall their drinks and snacks are pretty good. Especially there are no other boba stores in Denver that serves food. Popcorn chicken is pretty authentic compared to what I had in Cali. Recently they have coconut boom as a dessert and it is soooo delicious. It's like jelly but in the real coconut! Why, it's fans of the California-based Volcano Tea House cheering about the opening of the new Aurora branch at Parker/Yale! Volcano began with the aim of promoting the tasty tea-and-snack culture found in Taiwan. The Aurora outpost's elegantly-decorated space, with its soothing pastel colors, creates a very conducive environment to hanging out and enjoying the beverage or your choice for a while. And indeed, there are some lovely libations to choose from. Imagine the richest, most decadent Royal Milk Tea you've tasted (stop drooling, that's just nasty) and multiply it by twenty. Why yes, you've got Hokkaido Milk Tea. Despite being named for the northern Japanese island (home of the cows providing that extra-creamy milk), this is in fact a much-loved beverage in Taiwan too. You can also get super-healthy with Misugaru - traditionally made with a blend of ground beans and grains, it'll fill you right up. Or how about a seasonal special with melon or strawberry? And those are just a few for you to consider. But having titillated you about Volcano's drink roster, I suppose I should discuss their snack array a bit too. This is still being refined somewhat, but an always popular choice are the spiced fried offerings of chicken and squid (in the latter case, sometimes they have the rings, sometimes they have the balls... you get the idea). You can have both of these in mild, medium and hot versions, but I should let you know in advance that even the mild rendition has a bit of a kick (you're welcome!). Either way they'll crackle satisfyingly before melting in your mouth. Or how about some puffy-squishy sweet potato fries? Then again, if you want to think outside the plate, why not try Shao Xian Cao - warm grass jelly with toppings like Hong Dou (red beans), Lu Hui (aloe chunks), taro pudding (you can get all these in your drinks too!). I only popped in quickly on my way home from work. The interior was very cute, and had a soft homey vibe. The staff was nice and quick with recommendations, which was nice! I haven't had any boba in years. Service was also super fast, but I was also the only customer in the place. They have a lot of topping options, including the popping boba that I can't seem to find many places. The popcorn chicken is also super good, IMO! The only reason I give it four stars is I did use the restroom, which I believe is shared by the whole building, and it was...not good. Dirty, and it smelled like sewage, and the locks were broken on both stalls. Not necessarily Volcanos fault as the restroom is, again, shared by the building but still kind of a bad experience just in that aspect. read more
