Very interesting concepts especially with the cute animal shaped to-go bottles for the drinks. The egg waffles menu also showed off various ways to play up the fun with flavor combos. If only they use the extra effort toward perfecting the basic recipes... I had the most basic: honey egg waffles. Not sure why honey was needed here when they could've used all eggs to make it eggy and fragrant! When I bit into my honey egg waffles, I knew the batter was overly wet as the waffle would stick to my teeth. Just not what your typical Hong Kong egg waffles should be. Shame. The drinks are the same way. My HK style milk tea was fine but nothing to write home about. It didn't have that wow factor where after the first one, you immediately wanted a second one because it's so strong and you don't even care if you can't sleep that night! Hubby's Oolong Tea Cheese Latte was plain weird. Well, he only had himself to blame for ordering it, but why put a subpar drink on the menu? Staff was friendly and you can tell they were trying really hard to sell products (such as convincing me to get the ice cream loaded egg waffles).

My review is based off the drinks alone, and I'll update it when I get the bubble waffles. I love a good yogurt drink and this was pretty refreshing for the string of warm weather we had last week! It definitely called for boba. The lychee flavor was good but the yogurt drink itself could have been stronger as it tasted water down. I've had better yogurt drinks elsewhere where that strong yakult flavor punches through your taste buds. It was lacking both tartness and sweetness of the yogurt. It was average but I've had better.

Vibes are chill and the music is great. Decor is pretty unassuming except for the hype bears. Staff seems like all friends with one another, which is great, but comes with a balance of doing things efficiently too. I think creating some sort of system would be good. I could tell other patrons were being annoyed of them forgetting to complete an order or having group orders come out sporadically. I ordered the OG or Happy Milk Tea, large, half sugar and less ice. It tasted on the light side, more ice than what is usually in less ice and they didn't offer the price of the bear mug (which I was looking for but I didn't know you were supposed to ask).

This place is as the name says... a TRAP! Honestly the tea might be good, but don't fall for the same mistake I made. DO NOT get the bear. No matter how cute you might the the picture might be, I am here to tell you it's not worth it. It costs $15 to get the bear when a normal cup costs $5. They also didn't have any large straws for me and instead of being any help just said sorry... I had to ask for a cup and pour my drink into the $5 cup. I should have just gotten the $5 cup to begin with! I asked someone else about their experience and they said the large straw barley worked anyways, so it's not like that would have even fixed it. I might be bitter from this horrible experience but the boba wasn't even good. It lacked flavors and the texture was so off. The milk tea was okay at best. Feel free to try this spot out, but do not get that bear.

If I could I will give this for 0 star. The drink is tastes like water. I will never come back!!

Wanted to give this place a better review considering we drove out of the way to try this spot based off the reviews. But it was not worth the hype. Walked in the door to blaring music and children running behind the counter... there was also a huge group of guys outside the shop smoking weed and the door to the shop was propped open so the entire boba store smelled of it. The drinks were okay, nothing stood out. The guy who took our order was friendly and answered any questions. But other than that, save your money and go to a different boba place.

I very much enjoyed my experience at Trap Tea. I love a good coconut milk tea and they delivered. It was sweet; but I saw that you can order it with 75%, 50%, or 25% sweetness which is an awesome option. I would probably get it a touch less sweet in the future but to be honest I wasn't mad about how I ordered mine this time! It was a dessert for me afterall. Gotta get the bear at least one time and take a pic for the gram (instagram) was it worth it- probably not but I got my photo so who cares. I'm guessing not a lot of people get it; because the straw is not sized correctly from drinking out of the bear. Notice the picture of my holding it; you can't even see the straw. Makes getting boba with every sip very difficult. I would probably invest in some proper sized straws for these drinks. If someone is shelling out $15 for a plastic bear- the least you can do is serve them this fun option with a straw that fits. Just saying. Provably my main complaint here. Loved the boba, it was soft and delicious, just how I like it. I prefer a soft and fluffy boba and theirs was top notch. They also do bubble waffles here which I refrained from this time, but will be back to try. And I will update the review to include those when I do!

Maybe my expectations were just too high, but I was disappointed in general with this experience. The tea was ok, it for the location and price I probably won't make another trip back as there are far more tea places with a better ambiance. The staff I personally wouldn't call them friendly nor were they really helpful. Like I said I was probably too hyped for it....

This is the second establishment I've been to running on the trap house theme. The other was a cookie spot. I'm looking for a boba spot in Denver that does good blended drinks. I thought I was going to find that here. I didn't. They have milk tea, slushy drinks, ice cream but no blended drinks. I tried their house tea and the fruity pebble egg waffle, and it was a 3/5. It's just not what I was looking for. I wish I had asked for a second scoop of ice cream for the egg waffle. They use whip cream as a filler, I would have def rather paid for another scoop. I'm sure that this is the place to get a milk tea tho. It was packed when I went. So if you're into that this is it.

I've always wanted to try this place out, but never really needed to since my go-to boba place is so close to home, but when I had a craving for boba and my usual place was already closed for the night, I ventured out to try Trap Tea. It didn't disappoint. I usually stick with my taro milk tea and this place had a really good one. I tried a plain honey egg waffle and it was also super yummy. Hot, not too sweet, and perfectly crispy. Everyone there is super friendly and the service is super quick. They were cranking out milk teas one after another. Really enjoyed it. I recommend if you're in the neighborhood.

While he wanted us that the peppercorn sauce may numb our tongues, I think that got lost in translation! Our other choices were a salty sauce (described as a brown sauce that isn't that salty really) and a sweet and sour sauce. We could get it as a soup or stir fry. We wanted stir fry. The beef was tender and juicy and cooked perfectly as was the bok choy in the stir fry. The noodles were silky and soft, with a great mouth feel. The peppercorn sauce left our tongues numb though and we could NOT figure out what was going on because we didn't pick that up in the convo when we ordered! I finally asked the waitress who gave us the whole reason behind the untraditional and traditional sauce options! She said that when COVID hit, mostly Americans ordered and they adapted a sweet and sour sauce for them that they love. When things opened back up, they went back to peppercorn sauce because the Chinese like it and it is traditionally served near the Guangzhou province. It all made sense! She said next time, we could try the salty sauce, which I will. It sounds great and I love these noodles. They make their tea strong and it is awesome. We had a black tea and a jasmine cold tea. I had been here once before and taken my mother. She was treated so sweetly by the lady who works there and it made her experience extra enjoyable. I wish I knew her name, but she is a lovely woman who cares about her customers. The staff is nice and helpful. Sometimes things get a bit lost in translation. The ambiance is lacking as it is more of a fast food-looking place, but don't let that stop you from going! Last trip, I had dumplings and noodles that rocked my world. I was so happy! The one bad thing about this place is the sewage smell from the building both times I have visited. I hate it because they can't do anything about it! It isn't their fault and shouldn't keep you from delicious noodles, but it is very noticeable when you walk in. The bathrooms are down a back hall in this strip center so if you have an elderly visitor, it is kind of a walk to get to them. Heads up.
