I have been eyeing The Sen for a minute and my friend surprised me on our way to a festival that she needed to go there again. I had the mango osmanthus coconut which is made of mango puree, fresh mango osmanthus slush, coconut, grapefruit, lemon zest and crystal boba. It sounds a lot but let me tell you, all these ingredients work so well together. Its refreshing, tropical, herbal ish, a little sour and the perfect sweetness all in one. I hope that they keep this drink on their permanent menu. They have definitely created a zen like space with how they decorated their space as well. Look, I am no expert at Matcha... But I've had my fair share of ceremonial grade, and standard coffeehouse Matcha. And I think I have explored quite a lot of of the best matcha places in Denver. But the Matcha I had the other day at this adorable little tea house has me SHOOK! First of all the staff is so sweet and friendly. They were super busy and handled it with the most calm, graceful energy! I ordered the matcha coconut cloud and holy cow! The earthiness of the Matcha comes through and isn't buried by the sweetness of the coconut water or the fresh little pieces of young coconut. I met my sister and niece for a girl's weekend in Denver. Thanks to my fellow Yelpers for the rave recommendation and high marks. It did not disappoint and was exactly what we needed on a 95 degree day. My sister ordered a Pandan Latte which was sweet, nutty, and delicious. My niece and I shared a raspberry lemonade which was super sweet (almost too sweet) but so refreshing and the Mango Yogurt smoothie. We wanted the Pina YoColada but they were out and weren't mad about it. Imagine if a sweet fresh mango had a baby with an ice cold yakult. That's what the smoothie was in a cup. I'd highly recommend this place. There's lots of seating inside, tables outside to share with Little Man next door, and so many drink options to choose from on the menu. The parking was excellent with plenty of available spaces and a convenient location to start the day. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the staff. Even though the restaurant was busy. we never felt rushed to place our order. They gave us plenty of time to look over the menu and even recommended some of their favorite items which we appreciated. Our food and drinks arrived quickly and the service was efficient throughout our visit. The matcha was delicious and our favorite part was the wide variety of flavors they offered. It's one of those unfortunate incident turned right experience for me at The Sen! The menu here would take a moment to understand. It's not a straight up boba place so make sure you ask to add boba if you want them. They do offer sweetness and ice adjustments as well. After a while studying their menu, I still couldn't make up my mind. Suddenly I saw a few featured specials on a mini board and decided on the Triple Matcha Tiramisu. Only to be told later that they were out of the tiramisu! (In the mean time, I learned they do offer alternative milk such as oat and almond). I had to pick something else quickly and saw on the top of the featured specials menu a Roasted Coconut Water with Matcha Cold Foam. Asked for that with Oatmilk but they said the cold form was already made with whipped cream and the base is not milk, but coconut water! It turned out to be surprisingly good! I didn't even have to stir much and the cold foam would meld with the sweetened coconut water super well. The coconut pieces at the bottom are good too. I was too consumed with my drink to try everyone else's. Might have to come back and try some more. But I'm afraid I'll have to always get the Coconut Water with Matcha Cold Foam! Hopefully it becomes their staple. To our pleasant surprise, we ran into some friends after the order, everybody must love this place! The Sen is a new favorite staple of mines. I'm super glad that there is a boba shop that is owned and operated by Viets because it provides a different type of drink other boba shops don't offer. Our first time here, we ordered an ube drink and some milk tea. Honestly, those drinks were okay and didn't stand out. It made it hard to justify the 30 min drive. But we listened to our friends recommendation and what was impressive was the drink called The Sen. This is their signature drink and I highly recommend you come for this! It is a milk tea but it has a nutty flavor because it's been roasted with brown rice. You can only find this drink here so I might as well get something special and unique you can't find anywhere else. Their matcha selection is also pretty incredible. They have very expensive matcha to affordable matcha. You can make different matcha lattes such as strawberry. The matcha would be another option I recommend. When you go in, there's a menu on the counter and then the big menu is just different matcha. If you get the chance to speak with the owner, he is really passionate and excited about the matcha options they have. Hands down my absolute favorite matcha in Colorado! This spot has a wide variety of drinks to choose from, a friendly staff that greets everyone as they walk in and makes excellent recommendations and explains any questions you may have. My first time, I probably spent a full five minutes at the register talking to the server, asking what they recommended, the difference between their matcha options, etc. and they did not rush me or get irritated that I had so many questions. They explain that you can customize everything from which matcha powder to use, to sweetness level to milk alternative. Their service was so great that I ordered a matcha drink to have there and then ordered a different tea drink to go as I left. I really love that you're able to select which matcha powder you want in your drink so that it can accompany the flavors perfectly. Since it's on the other side of town from me, I try to stop in when I'm at the office since it's close by there. I cannot recommend this place enough! Give their matchas a try, especially the black sesame. And if you're open to a unique, tangy drink try their salted plum! So so good! Came here en route to an event because it sounded interesting - glad we stopped in! It's location is easy to find with some other tasty treats nearby and plenty of parking. Liked the vibes inside, though do wish the plants weren't fake. All the seats were super comfy and there was plenty of seating/table variety depending on who you came with. Ample outlets for working, too. We came with a stroller and had no issue navigating it and parking at a table. Eclectic menu ranging from Vietnamese coffee with ube foam (what I got, would absolutely recommend), sesame foam, many different varieties of matcha lattes, sparkling tea refreshers, to milk tea - my husband got "The Sen" which was also a winner. Prices felt fair and staff was friendly and helpful if you were undecided. Plenty of foot traffic and they kept up. Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because they only have single use disposable cups - for the crafted drinks and water. I really value the option for reusable wares when dining in. The service was excellent, everyone was friendly, and the boba pearls were soft. The ambience was great as well! That said, I was a bit disappointed with the overall flavor of the drink. A new tea house down the street from my house in the heart of DTC? Heck yes!! Had it not been one of my good Yelp friends who told me about The Sen's grand opening this weekend (3/14 and 3/15 of 2025), I wouldn't have known about the existence of this new kid on the block. I guess I wasn't paying attention to the happenings in my side of town? I need to be more near-sighted!! I showed up to it (the grand opening) 30 minutes before its open time of 11am thinking that there would be a long line. Nope, no line whatsoever (yay!). Hence I returned to it at/around 10:52am. One of the workers had just come to the door to turn on the "OPEN" sign while I was busy taking some photos of the exterior. It was still before 11am so as a politeness, I popped my head at the door and I asked the same lady, "Are you guys open?" I heard a cheerful "Yes" from her. I then proceeded to the ordering counter with much anticipation. I was the first customer for the day but it didn't take too long before a slew of another customers (in a group) showed up. I realized that I had very little time to ask the lady questions and place my order. For this weekend's grand opening, they are/were doing buy one (any drink) get one (a free milk tea) deal which I completely forgot about. When I placed my order (a Vietnamese coffee and a pork bun) she asked which milk tea I wanted. I didn't need two drinks but since it was free, I went for it. What I got me (once again) are: the Vietnamese (iced) coffee with black sesame foam, the Bao bun, and the Taro milk tea. -Vietnamese coffee with black sesame: The black sesame foam is/was the absolute game changer. This truly elevated the whole drink. Wow, I am a fan of this foam now. I'm not much of sweet coffee drinks but the sweetness was just right. -Bao bun: This is a must order item if you need a little savory included in your morning routine. A cloud like fluffy thing outside was still emitting a steam when I cut into it. And what's inside were perfectly placed hard-boiled egg with pork sausage and ground pork meat. I don't eat a lot of buns but this is by far one of the best buns I've had in years. -Taro milk tea: Was rich and luxurious indeed. The unique taro flavor does not escape your taste buds throughout your drinking experience. Its creamy consistency is very addictive. Tasted truly authentic. My late morning was elevated. The Sen reminds me of cafes found in Asia so ou would say the aestethic is pretty spot on. We came here on a Sunday morning and it was empty with a few people coming in while we were leaving. I got the Black Sesame Foam Vietnamese Coffee, they let me try a sample before hand which I appreciated. They premake the Vietnamese Coffee so if you want it less sweet, that's a no go but still, it was tasty. We also split a pork and hardboiled egg bao, the taste was spot on and even reminded me of Taiwan! Prices are compared to what you would get at Starbucks. The space is incredibly clean, bright and welcoming. The employees are very attentive there and patient when you're trying to choose one of the many drinks they have to offer. They make every drink with the utmost care and want each customer to be happy with their order. The next time I go back, I will most likely get traditional Boba. They have food to eat. Your traditional baked goods and some Asian staples. I really would like to try the pork buns. There are other drinks, besides tea and coffee being sold, which I would like to try in the future. The menu was a bit confusing at first because I thought we had to choose. Nope. All the ingredients are included in one big bao! We came to check out the grand opening of a new tea shop in the DTC and got to try a few different drinks. The taro milk tea was delicious and hit the spot. Also, my daughter loved the mango smoothie. The interior looks straight out of an Instagram profile and I saw several people with laptops doing some work while enjoying their beverages. I can imagine the after-school rush is pretty popular as well. I wish they opened earlier in the morning so you could get your caffeine fix earlier in the day.
