I worked hard to put together a comprehensive proposal for an LED lighting upgrade for a potential client. After a couple of months I was able to get a hold of the owner to ask how things were going with the project and how he felt about our proposal. I was told at that time that he had been told by his electrician (HFR Electric) that he had a bad experience with our company. He went on to say, telling the owner that if he were to purchase lamps from our company he would have to find another electrician. Our company has absolutely no history of doing business with HFR... ever. I made 3 calls to the company to speak with the owner. 3 times I got his secretary and I explained why I was calling. I wanted to understand why he had such bad things to say about our company. Perhaps it was just a case of mistaken identity and we could get things straightened out. None of those calls were returned. I am now inclined to think that HFR was looking to procure, and then sell, the lighting to the client himself. This leads me to believe that HFR was more interested in pulling a bit more profit out his project by purchasing the lamps and selling them to the company himself. My company represents over 50 manufacturers directly, there is no middle man. This says that HFR is willing to do just about anything to increase their own profit, even if it means taking advantage of a client and stepping on the reputation of another company.
