Great Salon, very clean staff are always friendly and attentive. I have had trouble finding good consistency in hairstylists since I moved here from New York. I visit about every 3 months for cut and color. Erin does a great job color matching and consistently giving me the color I want. All of the girls in the shop are very talented. Update: Erin removed me from messaging them on their Facebook Page. This is how they handle their costumers. They destroyed my hair and don't want to own up to it. I scheduled my appt. for 01-29-18 at 10:30 with the notion that I was getting what I had asked for when I had scheduled with them. Wrong. I had a lady named Heather doing my hair. I showed her the picture of what I was wanting and she said no problem. She asked me if I needed anything and I told her that I just had to be out by 3 p.m. because I work 2nd shift and live 40 minutes from the Salon and needed time to get home still. She again said no problem. She told me it would be best if I had a Malibu because I had my hair colored about 4 months ago (the first time I ever have) She goes to take me to the sink but stops because the sink was dirty and needed to be cleaned. Dirty sinks right when they open? So are they not cleaning up properly? Right before she started putting color in my hair I asked her if she wanted to have the picture stay up on my phone for reference and she said no that she knew what I wanted. Throughout the process she talks to me about myself and I tell her I'm a single mom and that my birthday is coming up that's why I wanted to take the time to get my hair done how I wanted. Little did I know she wasn't really listening to me. As she was applying the color she kept stopping to change the music on her phone. She asked what I listened to. I told her whatever would make her work best was fine with me. I tried to check the time with the only clock they had in the upper section but of course it wasnt working. She ran out of dark color and went back for more. When she came back she made the entire bottom of my hair black, which I would later find out was a completely different color then what she was using throughout. And she didnt even use foils for that. So I had black colored hair just laying on the back of my neck. She was rushing it. When she goes to wash my hair out she tells me she has to make sure the black doesn't bleed with the blonde and that hopefully the "Hair Gods" are with us. So I trusted she knew what she was doing. As she was washing my hair out she asked what my boyfriend would think. I don't have a boyfriend. And if she was actually listening to me she would have known that. At this time it was 3:00 p.m. the time I had asked to be done and out of there for work. The time she said would not be a problem. Nervous, she started to blow dry my hair. She asked if I liked it. I told her it was different. Define different? Like nothing like the picture I asked for. Instead of blonde on top and black underneath I got silver on top with a lot of bluish throughout with black under that. So instead of having mainly blonde I had mainly a dark blue color. She asked to do my eye brows and style my hair. I told her that I had to leave 30 minutes ago and that I didn't want any of that. Again not listening. She takes me over and takes their photo for their FB page which they shine a bright light inches from your head as you face their wall. I go to pay and rush to my car. Its already past 3:30, and my hair is nothing like I asked. It is literally silver with a dark blue throughout and dark black underneath. I end up calling into work that night because I knew I couldn't get to work on time now and frankly my hair was completely ruined. When i got home i had black stained on the back of my neck and ear where she didnt wash me off all the way. I called them back that day and got Erin, the oh so proud owner. I tell her I'm not sure why its silver and blue and not blonde and black like i wanted . She tells me to wash it a couple times. Complete no regards for my concern. Very rushed phone call. I ended up going to another salon and they did their best to fix it for me. It wasn't till after I left a bad review that Erin called me again. I requested a partial refund for all the money I had to spend to fix their mistake and got no response back. The Volume Salon is nothing but a make shift, photo shopped, uncaring and over priced salon that doesn't value their costumers real concerns only thier own fake image. Will never be back. I had a Brazilian blowout that i was assured would last about 3 months ..spent lots of money on it and 4 weeks later, its gone! And no, I do not wash my hair excessively. Came in for a root touch up. Mariah was at best marginally nice to me. She only did my crown and not even a week later, my grey hair is showing through and my roots were not done as I had requested. The worst situation was Erin's attitude to my complaint. She said it was a "misunderstanding"... agreed to fix my hair then had her receptionist call me to change the date. My family and I were back in Ohio visiting last weekend and I was pleased to be able to make an appointment for a haircut at Volume. I was lucky enough to be paired with stylist Taylor. She was excellent- gave me a thorough consultation and went above and beyond to deliver the haircut I've been hoping for! As a fellow stylist it is not often that I get to be the client but I felt completely comfortable in Taylor's hands! She was professional, stylish, and gave excellent suggestions. I'm not one to style or color my hair and as much as Volume is deeply talented in this area, they also do cuts for guys who just want to look nice but keep it simple. Unprofessional, rude, and shady management. I went to get a cut and color only to end up with nothing close to what I asked for. I spent 6 1/2 hours the first day then gave the stylist a second chance to fix it and spent another 6 hours the next day. Still the look was not produced and now my hair is fried and completely damaged. At this point I spoke with the owners and requested a refund. I was very upset that I spend do much time and money (145 dollars and 13 hours) to end up with damaged hair that i can barely comb through. Initially the owner Erin agreed on a refund and said she would send it in the mail. After several weeks of not receiving the check I attempted to contact them again. I was rudely ignored and given the run around for weeks upon weeks being told the management was busy. Nor did they have the decency to respond to a phone call. I spoke to the stylist directly and asked about the delay and she she she paid the owners back the money in full and was under the impression the check was sent. To make the situation worse I seen the photo of my hair that the stylist took on their company's Instagram page. I was fumigated that they would have the audacity to advertise my hair after they had extremely messed it up. Not to mention I never gave permission for my photo to be posted. When I asked for the photo to be taken down, I could not believe their reactions. They deleted my comments, blocked me off their page, and still kept up the picture. It was not officially taken off their site until a week later when I proposed legal actions. I eventually got in contact with the owner, Chad, due to my persistence for they would not reciprocate a call for over a month at this point. When I did I expressed my frustration with their unprofessionalism. I was given the same lousy excuse that the check was in the mail. I addressed the fact that I wanted my picture down and he had the nerve to try to justify it by saying it's at the discretion of their facility whether they post a picture. Finally, when I proposed legal actions he became angered and told me he was cancelling my check. He was also upset that I wrote a critical review on their Facebook page. He mentioned that that they have too many good reviews to entertain the negative feedback. The irony of this is when I looked at the "good reviews" I find the owner himself writing their company a 5 star review as if he was a customer. P The funny part is its a month and a couple weeks since this experience and the so called "cancelled check" has still not been received. This solidifies that they never intended to mail out my refund.I find their interest business to be completely unprofessional. I am continuing to take legal actions at this point. I spent a lot of time and money to be treated poorly by a business that has no ethics. If you agree on a refund to an unpleased client then you you stick to your word. My best advise is beware the management has poor standard of pleasing their clients. They could care less if their clients walk away happy or not. I advise people to choose another salon. I have been to the Volume Salon several times. The employees are always extremely friendly and the ambiance is really sweet. I just had my hair trimmed by Mariah. She is very sweet and made sure I was comfortable as I sat while she trimmed and talked with me. Mariah is usually the one that I see because I love her personality and she gives me great advice on how to manage my hair and what products work best. I waited to post a review to give the dust some time to settle, but unfortunately, 3 weeks later, I still have unattractive, orange hair and hopefully this will help someone else. I was really excited to try this salon based on the great photos posted on Facebook. Several of the pictures showed a look that was exactly what I wanted so I booked with one of the recommended stylists without hesitation. In hindsight, it seems only the success stories are posted and my stylist never offered to take a photo of the mess I was left with. Can't say I blame her. I'm certainly in no hurry to have my picture taken right now either. The salon is beautiful and well decorated and my stylist was waiting at the door for me, which was nice to not have to wait. We discussed what I wanted and I showed her some pictures of what I was looking for and one photo of what I absolutely DID NOT want so there would be no misunderstanding. After 4 hours, it would be difficult to decipher the color I ended up with from the DO NOT WANT photo. My hair was orange. While the stylist agreed it was a "little warm", she blamed my hair and previous color for the mess. She did agree to try again a week later and offered to only charge for the product to fix the problem. A week later I sat for 3 more hours and ended up with a slightly lighter, pumpkin, type orange this time. She told me it would take 2-3 more times to achieve the cool blonde I asked for. I've colored my hair for years and have always achieved a cool, platinum blonde color in one session. My hair can be difficult to lift - which I mentioned to her - but it can be done and with very minimal damage to my hair. However, it does require heat to truly lift and this was never done. At this point, I have over $150 and 7 hours invested in orange hair. Going back to this salon would just be a further waste of time and money so I guess I'm just going to wait until my regular stylist gets back from maternity leave to get it done right. I really had high hopes of finding a salon that was close to home with a lot of new talent, but sadly, it was just a lesson in being loyal to a good stylist - no matter how far you have to drive to see them. read more

I will never go back. We were the only clients in the store, bur neither one of our stylists was paying any attention. My friend got half her faced dyed (not an exaggeration) because the stylist was half-assing the whole process, and neither one of our colors came out ANYTHING like what we asked for. Not even in the same ballpark! I also tried to compliment the owner on her hair while I was there but she gave me the biggest side eye and didn't even say anything. Then I asked my stylist to diffuse my hair (I have curly hair) and I left with the worst my hair as ever looked. Then when I got home I realized she forgot to do my roots so I had patches of bleach blonde throughout my naturally dark roots. My friend was told her color was permanent, but it almost completely washed out in 2 weeks! She also had her hair bleached so it was just this patchy mess of...I don't even know what. The huge price you pay if for how trendy the store is but it stops there. Last time I had any color done to my hair I had it done at great clips and they did 100% better, so go there an save yourself the money. read more

The customer service is horrible! The other day I saw a beautiful silver hair color posted on their Facebook page by their stylist named Taylor. I instantly loved it. I called the Salon and told them I saw their photo and I wanted the same thing. I believe it was Erin, who I talked to on the phone, asked me what my hair color and length was and I told her it was brown and medium-long length. We set up an appointment and she estimated it would be $120. I was incredibly excited for the next few days. I arrived at the salon for my appointment and immediately I noticed how rude some of the workers are. Taylor was at the desk, asked my name, and asked me what I wanted. I told her I talked to someone on the phone about the silver color, the $120, etc. She looked annoyed from the start. She looked at me and said there wasn't anyway that I could get the silver color because my hair is too dark. I told her, alright, that is okay and I can understand that, can we do a dirty blonde or something? She said no. She told me she wasn't sure how my hair would turn out in one session of trying to go blonde. I asked, well, would it be gold or chrome or orange or what? She said "I don't know". I said $120 is a lot of money for something that unsure. There was a lot of miscommunication. My partner who I brought with me chuckled under his breath and she turned over to him and said nastily "what are you laughing at?" At this point, I am in such disbelief at how rude she is. I wish I would have known that that particular color was going to take multiple sessions each costing roughly $100. They didn't tell me on the phone that brown hair would need multiple sessions. I understand that seeing it in person is different but it isn't even dark brown. I believe it was Erin who came out and talked to me and said "I never said it would take one session." Well, she never said it would take multiple and she told me $120, she knew I had long brown hair before I came in. I said there is no way I can pay so much money for my hair and I wish I would have known all of this sooner. They were so rude to me. I got out of the chair and told him I was going home and she said "it'll be the same price anywhere else and if you do it yourself you will fry your hair" I left, very upset. Taylor had an attitude that just blew me away. Every little thing she said she mine as well should have rolled her eyes and said whatever. My partner was very upset at how they treated me. This was supposed to be my birthday present. I was in the car and told him I wanted to find another salon. We went to smart style and they were so kind and patient and polite. I have beautiful light blonde hair now- and it isn't fried. I ended up paying $100 and a $15 tip that was well deserved. I will NEVER go to Volume EVER again! We visited Volume The Salon for the 1st time yesterday and were very happy with our services. I booked at the salon because I saw online that they used Olaplaex which helps your hair retain color longer & bonds the fibers in your hair to protect your hair & keep it looking healthy. I went in with my 16 year old daughter. I got a color & cut & daughter got a cut. Erin was our stylist & I showed her a picture on Pinterest of what color I was looking for & was really pleased with the end result. I also told her I wanted to keep my length but wanted a style and she gave me some side swept bangs with layers angled to my face & it feels like she listened and did not take any length off as I'd asked. My daughter got several inches off and a "Carrie Underwood Side Swept Bang" She said that this was the 1st time she left a salon and liked the cut without having to go home and play with it till she liked it. The salon is super cute & very modern looking. Erin was super easy to talk to and we just really had a good experience. We'll definitely be going back. read more

Love this salon. Everyone is super sweet, professional, and will work with you to get the look you are wanting. Their price point is perfect, and they know what they are doing. Volume also specializes in more "modern" hair trends; such as ombré, baylayage, and Brazillian Blowout. So if you are looking for a salon I would definately give Volume a try. read more

Came in to see Kayla asking for some highlights. My apt was at 10am she didn't get me in until 10:40 I was not even upset about that part. I waited there for 6 hours while she worked on my hair and other peoples. When you set an apt you expect that apt to be yours. She turned my hair orange and asked why I didn't like It I told her she needed to fix it. The owner put another color over top. It was going on 6 hrs that I had been there I said wash this out I'm leaving without even having a cut, dry and style and she charged me even though I hated my hair and I left with it wet. I came home dryed my hair and it still looked like shit so I had to go buy dark box color just to fix it. SO PISSED worst hair experience I have ever had at a Salon. read more

I only came to the salon because my stylist became an employee there. But after going there for over a year I started to enjoy the environment. The place is clean and decorated very nicely. My stylist went on maternity leave and so I was not in there that entire time she was out. When she came back I had an appointment and noticed they had all new stylists and they were all straight out of hair school. The next time I came in (4 weeks later) those new stylists were all gone and she had a new group of stylists. The last time I was in there for an appointment, a girl was in there TRYING to get an ombré. I had to ask my stylist what the girl got and she said an ombré. It wasn't close to an ombré. It honestly looked like someone tried to do an ombré with a box color. The stylist had to redo her hair and still charged her almost $200 when she was done. After going there for some time I started to see true colors of management. I would say stylists as well but they never stayed long enough. The salon is run by a woman but her boyfriend acts like he does and degrades the women in there. The boyfriend is supposed to be the marketing manager and advertises the girls with racial remarks thinking it's good for them but really bites the girls in the butt and they have no access to change it. My stylist has decided to go out on her own and I am glad because the environment in this salon has become horrible and unwelcoming.
