Rudest man ever...wanted a credit card number before he even looked at refrigerator that isn't even a year old. When I said I would give him my card, if needed, after he looked at it...he said he was taking me off his list and hung up on me. Completely unprofessional and totally classless. The owner of this company called me to set up an appointment to look at my Speed Queen washer. The place of purchase put in a service order and Volunteer is who the service dept. chose. Jerry,the owner,called at 7 AM and I asked if could call back later as we were still asleep. He hung up on me. I called him back an hour later and told him my husband worked 2nd and that's Why I asked him to call back. He told me to find somebody else to fix my washer and hung up on me again. I called him back and he wouldn't answer. He lied to whoever he spoke with at the place of purchase and told them I cursed him out for calling that early. They told me that wasn't the first complaint they've had about him and that he owns the company and doesn't have to answer to anyone. They also said he's a good repairman. That being said I don't care how good he is I will not let someone that treats his customers like that anywhere near my home. He is definitely the rudest and most childish "professional " I've ever encountered. He's an older "gentleman" that should know better and he Is a liar who won't own his behavior. read more

Jerry was wonderful at Volunteer Appliance. This is my 2nd time using Volunteer Appliance. Quick response time to my phone calls. The heating element was out on my dryer and was on back order. He quickly ordered it through Speed Queen and had it expedited to my house. I called him when I received it and he had the part installed in less than 24 hours from the time I called him. BE AWARE! GET THE FULL COST OF REPAIR UP FRONT so you can decide it your appliance repair is worth the repair cost. Jerry and son came to verify our plumbers report that our Electrolux washer was leaking. Jerry was here 20-minutes and verified I needed a new valve. He told me he would also install a new dryer hose as mine had ripped when his son pulled the stack our from the wall. He told me he would be back with part in 3 days and that my bill was $505. I thought that was a little steep but thought everything has gone up! He said part was very expensive. When he returned 4 days later and installed the part (40 min) he told me I owed him another $450!!!!!! I rejected his charge reminding him that I had already paid him $505. He said that was just for the part and service call. So my total bill was $955. I told him I could buy a NEW Electrolux washer for $1056. I told him He should have told me the COMPLETE COST UP FRONT ( but then I wouldn't have needed a repair)! 100% I would have bought a new washer since mine was 8 years old. His reply was "Hun I didn't know you wanted a new washer". He reduced the second charge from $450 to $250 after I flipped out. His bill claims the part was $350 but in fact I have found the original part can be purchased from Electrolux for $89.95. Jerry's business practices are unscrupulous and cannot ever recommend him to anyone. read more

Jerry called for my service request from speed queen on my dryer told him the problem. He said he would order the parts. I simply told him that this was the third time and I was told last time if it happened again, they would replace it immediately. He went from being nice to being very rude and said he would just cancel the parts. I told him I didn't want him to cancel the parts that I would get with speed queen and if they wanted to cancel it, they could he proceeded to tell me that they wouldn't have to cancel it because he was going to and then he hung up on me. I then left a review on Google saying the same thing and he responded saying that I used foul language towards him which never happened. All of our calls were recorded. This man is very rude and does not need to be in the customer service business. I will be contacting speed queen I don't know why they have this company as one of the repair companies, his reviews are terrible read more

Horrendous!! I was scheduled for a call through a manufacturer and when I called to confirm the appointment he said it would be 4 days later than I was told. He then told me he couldn't help me and cancelled my appointment and hung up. I am not sure how they stay in business... read more

This is the place to go for repairs...if you want to be treated like crap! How are these morons even still in business? I've been having problems with my new refrigerator since I bought it a few months ago; someone from Lowe's came to look at it and told me the freezer door needs to be replaced. Whirlpool said they'd send out someone to repair it, but the customer service rep told me they'd probably take the cheapest way out. That they did - they just replaced the gasket - and within two weeks I was back to where I started. I called Whirlpool and this time they assigned this place rather than the original one. I wondered why, but with the holidays upon us, I didn't much care - I just want my freezer fixed! I got an email with details as to when the appointment would be, and called Volunteer the day before to confirm. The person I spoke to said he didn't have the schedule and said they'd call me the next day. I didn't get a call, so I called them again, explained what they were supposed to do and why, and the jerk hung up on me! I called Whirlpool back, and told them what happened. The customer service rep tried to set up a new appointment with Volunteer - and this idiot hung up on her as well! I would NEVER do business with these a-holes; in fact, I requested that the woman I spoke to at Whirlpool notify management of how totally rude, obnoxious, and unreliable Volunteer is. Very rude from the first call. They were supposed to come out for the oven repair but called the day before to say they were ordering the part and would have it in 2 days. Rescheduled the repair for a week later. When I called that day to get the time frame, I got their answering machine. Jerry called back to say the part wasn't in. When I reminded him that he'd said it would there in 2 days, he told me to find another repair place and hung up on me. Don't bother with this place. I wasted almost 3 weeks and now I will not have an oven for Thanksgiving. read more

I will never use, nor recommend, Volunteer Appliance. Paid $125 for a service call, they said it was a splutch I needed for my washing machine but it is on backorder. I finally found the part and called them to put it on; in the meantime I have been without a washer for 6 weeks! Owner was extremely rude and didn't show up when he said he would. My husband called and he yelled at him saying it would be at least another 2 weeks. We called another place and when they came out to install the splutch, found out that was not the part I needed...I needed a motor!!! Volunteer Appliance did not even diagnose it correctly!!! This new guy got my motor and installed it the next day!!! I have vowed to let everybody know about how horrible they treat their customers...he never once apologized for their mistake but instead responded to my email in an unprofessional way! Customer service will make or break a company and he needs to rethink how they treat people! read more

Don't use this company. Worst appliance repair service I have ever seen. You should also ask for another service provider if they are assigned your warranty work. Technician was polite but not knowledgeable enough to repair my refrigerator. The next company doing the work diagnosed the issue within 5 mins (broken fan). Office (manager) was rude and simply told me to call another company when I asked about my repair. read more

Grumpy old man needs to give it up. Meanwhile, he's sucking on the Frigidaire teat as their "preferred service provider." Collecting payments for service call after service call and doing not a damn thing but creating problems. He offers NO service, can't seem to fix an appliance. "Must be electrical" is all he can offer while pretending to test voltage, etc. Unfortunately due to this genius, I had to pay an electrician to tell me the asshole is an idiot then Frigidaire had to send a competent service rep to change the heating element. Which is the one thing I asked Volunteer to check. Sucks being smarter than the one getting paid to fix things. Use ANY other appliance repair service.
