They offer plenty of seating and even have a small gift shop that you can browse, hence why I came in the first place lol. Don't use them. They don't deserve One Star. They deserve to be out of business. My car was misdiagnosed. What was a simple repair, turned into $$$$$$$. They will treat you, the Owner, as a No Nothing. They will not ask you for the history or age of parts. They will gleefully do a big "repair" on your vehicle for big $$$$$$ but they will NOT return your vehicle to good working order. The good reviews on this page ? Shifty sales tactics. They will tell you their process is "easy" and will tell you your loan is approved when in fact is hasn't been. Will deliver the vehicle then continue to hassle you for documentation that is either not necessary or should have been asked for in the begging. Other previous bad experiences include car dying on the way home after routine service, tires unbalanced after service, and oil leaking out on the way home after an oil change. Our Volvo XC90 has been giving us problems from day one. The vehicle was a used local trade-in and we were told the vehicle had no issues and had not been in any accidents. After many months of having issues and repairs vehicle will now not even run! Dealership lied to us for we found vehicle had been wrecked and the XC90 had issues from the start that Volvo of Charlottesville could not fix in other words a lemon! Unless you are under new car warranty go somewhere else. You can love your Volvo but you don't have to overpay for repairs. Twice we took car in for regular maintenance and twice we came out with unnecessary repairs. The first time we wanted 65k servicing and we got car back with uncharged AC. It worked great when we took in but mysteriously faltered after pick up. The second time we wanted oil change and bulb replacement and we got leaking power steering pump kick in the teeth. I believe these guys practice predatory maintenance tactics. I specifically asked them to call me on the envelop to approve any repairs and I swear they sought out my wife and pressed her for approval. I think they are strong mechanics but questionable operators. I have washed my hands of them paying 1500 for power steering pump I could have had reman'd for 400, not to mention I could have driven on leaking for years. If you are flush with cash and like to be pampered, by all means continue to go here. If you know a good import car operator please post. read more

I am driving from Short Pump, VA to AZ! However, my precious Toyota Highlander had to be repaired 3 times within State. The last time at Brown's Toyota in Charlottesville. Sadly after spending on all 3 repairs an amount that could have been a nice chunk towards a new used vehicle as I was making my last attempt out of town over Afton Mountain and had to turn back yet again I saw Volvo of Charlottesville that Saturday and stopped spoke and test drove with Ava! I fell in love with my 2009 XC90! I knew it would be a great vehicle! I had to return when the Manager would be in to seal the deal as I had arrived when they were closing. I arrived to speak to the Manager, Joe Lombardo, who immediately diagnosed the issue with my Toyota Highlander without even looking at it, just from listening to me! He was right! My catalytic converter needed replacing! I had suggested this to the other repair shops but no one listened. I was impressed because this time I didn't even say a word he knew immediately! Joe gave me a great deal! Actually more than a great deal he and Daniel Lombardo worked so hard to physically transfer all my belongings over from my Highlander that were packed tightly in my car all the way to the passenger front seat, to the travel box on top of my roof rack, and added a bike rack to the roof of my car as well as they didn't have a hitch to transfer over from my Highlander. They spent at least 5 hours in the heat transferring all my belongings! And to top it off once I arrive where I decide to live out West they will ship my bike rack to me that was on my Highlander that would not fit anywhere in or on top of my vehicle. They went more than the extra mile to help me! I have been loving my drive across country in my new car! It's been more than able to pull the mountains, pull the load in the vehicle, and gets much better gas mileage than my Highlander, and all the fancy bells and whistles on it like the simplest one such as the one that lets you know that someone is in your blind spot on either side has been fantastic when going along all these highways with the truckers and other cars, parking alerts, GPS, auto wipers for rain, auto lights, auto heat/ac, all the helpful things right on the steering wheel such as the radio and the cruise control which is all fantastic! I love this car! This car has made my drive across country much more enjoyable! I will be sending Joe and Daniel pictures of my adventure once I land! Most of what I've seen I take pictures from inside the car! Be it the Buffalo, Elk, Cow, Sprawling Ranges, etc it is all gorgeous and safe from inside my beautiful XC90 from Volvo of Charlottesville and all thanks to Ava, Daniel, Joe, Brenda and all there who do such a great job! Thank you all for giving me the country! I've met so many great people along my journey! People love my car and stop to look at it everywhere I go! The bike on the roof enthralls them all as it looks like a bird flying along the highways and backroads of National Forest with the bike cover I have on it! I've had nothing but issues with the Volvo dealership, and I bought my car brand new from them in 2005. The service department has a gentleman who is the liason between the mechanics and the customer, going over what the mechanics find and what needs to be done. He is an odious individual. He tells you what is going on, expecting you to know all the lingo and what part does what and the like. Not at all friendly with the layman. Then, when you ask questions, he treats you like you are an idiot. To boot, I found out later that a repair that was done to my car two years ago was covered under a recall, and they charged me $1800 for the repair. Finally being fed up with the level of service, I went to another certified Volvo mechanic who told me they should have replaced a certain part when they made that particular repair that was supposedly covered under the recall notice. I was also told that the part they replaced two years ago is failing again, and they need to charge me $400 just to take the part out and diagnose the problem. After which, there would be more in charges for labor and parts. So I went for a second opinion, and found many of the things they said needed replacing is all fine, and they find no need to fix problems that dont exist. Maybe it's because I'm a woman that they think they can pull the wool over my eyes, but if I were a Volvo owner, I'd go elsewhere for service. read more
