Mel did my tattoo here and she was great. She did an amazing job and I loved that she was watching master chef junior. I finally found an artist that I want to continue to go to! She did a piece on my boyfriend as well and his came out gorgeous too! Shop was nice. I highly recommend.

Super happy with my fine line tat to commemorate our girls weekend. They were super friendly and helpful and got us in quickly for walk in (pretty sure walk ins are only on certain days but we went on Saturday right after opening and it was super quick). The whole place is very clean and just a great vibe. 3 weeks out and tattoo is healing perfectly with no issues. I love that they email care instructions so you can go back to review if this is a first tattoo for you. Great experience all around.

Popped in Saturday morning to get a walk in appointment for a small tattoo and my daughter wanted her ears double pierced. The piercer was out with a family emergency so my daughter was super bummed. But it was out of their control. I love my little tattoo done by Reese. He was super nice and did a great job!

The studio is run professionally, with a strong sense of customer courtesy, and with a thoughtful sense of safety with respect to Covid-19. They made sure I was not infected, took my temperature, and didn't let me into the waiting area till my appointment was confirmed, and I couldn't be more grateful. I sent Mel a draft of the design I wanted in advance, along with specific pics of Sailor Jerry flash I wanted. It only took Mel 3 drafts till she had a design we agreed upon. She asked about color, explaining Sailor Jerry tattoos typically use a 5 color palette, which I didn't know (so I learned something--hooray). We agreed upon black ink only, and would revisit the color issue once all the black was complete. Being indecisive, this eased my mind a lot. The process itself, the tattooing, was fast. Mel is impressively quick with the needle. She was attentive to my mental state and level of pain, making sure I got some cold water and a Snickers to keep my blood sugar up. We took a couple breaks when necessary, yet she was still done in about 2 hours. Once all the elements were drawn and shaded, she asked about coloring in the stars with yellow. For a sec, I wanted to stick to just black. Then it hit me how much yellow stars would liven up the overall image. Then, getting excited about color, it really hit me how much a few color accents would bring it all to life. We went with 3 colors instead of 5: yellow, blue, and red. It was sparing but really nicely done. This is my 5th tattoo. Every artist I've been to has had their own approach to tattoo care. I like Mel's the most. She applied a breathable bandage similar to tegaderm. I only had to change it out a couple times, keep it on a few days, and once that was over and the bandage was removed, all I have to do is apply a little lotion every now and then. Mel built essentially a frame around a pre-existing tattoo of a ship. The quarter sleeve design gave the ship new life. Instead of a solo ship on my arm, I now have a beautiful, cohesive piece of art. I plan on going back to Mel, no doubt about it.

Totally coolest tattoo place I've been to and they've been voted best tattoo place on the island since they've opened in 2018 and I can totally see why. Went to Von Striga Art Parlor seeking a half sleeve forearm tattoo. The shop was clean and decorated in highly nostalgic 1980's pop-art memorabilia. The woman at the front desk was kind and attentive and promptly introduced us to a tattoo artist "Ricky." Ricky provided examples of his work and addressed every question professionally. His work is A+ and he quoted a reasonable ballpark on the work to be performed. During the session Ricky was fun and knowledgeable and his work was even better than hoped. I found Ricky on Instagram @clowny_daggers when my wife and I were looking for a good shop to get souvenir tattoos for our vacation to Galveston from Fort Worth. We are fairly heavily tattooed people so we know what we are looking for in shops as well as artists. I commented on one of Rickey's photos on Instagram and he quickly messaged me. He was open to all of our ideas when messaging me. When we got to the shop everyone working was extremely friendly and there was a comfortable lounge for waiting that included a beautiful view of the bay. Ricky was AMAZING! He was so friendly so the fact that his work was phenomenal and his pricing was more than fair was a plus in our book. We will Definitely be making the trip back just to be tattooed by him again read more

I got a tatoo behind my ear and on my finger by Lupi. ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS. So bad that I am now getting the Removed. The rose behind ear was supposed to be dainty and thin. The tatoo on my finger is absolutely horrendous. I kept saying to her are you sure it's not going to be that thick I want it like the picture. I walked out as soon as it was done ( I was waiting in my friend)I was so upset. The tattoos are nothing like the picture. I also was never told she was a junior artist. I don't recommend this place or at least a girl named Lupi here read more

Went here to get ears pierced, and the cashier was super duper friendly!! Also everything is super decorated. If you're a fan of video games like Overwatch and Legend of Zelda, you'll love the posters and banners. They also play video game music over the speakers, which is pleasant. The piercing went without any issues. Julian was super patient, waited for revisions, no rush, and walked through the entire process calmly! Heard a lotta horror stories of other piercings, so this was a relief when it went by without a hitch. One hundred percent worth it C: read more

Can't recommend this place enough! Was in Galveston for the weekend and decided to get a tattoo impulsively. I had checked out two other studios on the island closer to the beach, one looked too sketch and the other was full of artists that were too jaded to give me the time of day. Quite the opposite here! The place itself is so nice, open, and airy, very clean, and had some pretty bomb decor. The chick at the front desk was inviting, my artist Marina was super cool and incredibly talented, I felt comfortable and happy with the result, basically an overall wonderful and easy experience. Went with my friends when they were getting a tattoo. Very friendly, quality work and fast service. Also, it was closing time and we were waiting on an Uber and they actually waited outside with us until our Uber arrived which they didn't have to do. Very nice and clean place. I've gotten 2 tattoos within a month here. Not only do I love the location (it's clean, modern, professional and really comfortable), but the work is great, too. I was tattooed by Lupi on both occasions; she's absolutely wonderful and regularly checks in to see how you're handling the process. On one occasion she played music and the other Criminal Minds was playing, and she has a super light hand too so her work doesn't come with unnecessary pain. She's considered an apprentice under CK but her work is wonderful and she 100% knows what shes doing. She did a great job picking out the best colors for my skin tone with my sword so I trusted her to come back again for my second tattoo which was a memorial piece. Her prices were beyond fair; I tip heavy when I go because her prices and work are so good! l definitely will be returning for way more from her! read more

My first time ever having a female artist and I really felt like she listened to what I was saying and didn't make me feel silly cause I wanted a small dainty girl tattoo. I should have posted this months ago. In October 2019 I was vacationing in Galveston and received a tattoo at this shop. Robert Jaggers built on my rough sketch and made the most gorgeous ink for me. My "tin maiden" was to celebrate my heart transplant and I couldn't be happier. He's a great artist and has a gentle touch. read more

The best tattoo I can get over there, they are very deaf friendly which they was able to find a way to communicate with me as I'm communicating with them. They're both crusty, bloody , swollen, red and have little lumps filled with puss in them on it .They always hurt too sadly. I haven't been able to enjoy them and i took care of them with the certain type of spray you need everyday. I'm having to take them out because of fearing i may loose a boob... My friend also is having issues with her nose ring and having a puss like bubble near her nose and she said she complains of it too. I just wouldn't recommend going there as i'm not sure it's safe ...

I've gotta go to the dr now and possibly talk to an attorney for abuse. The ink is hardly under the skin and once the rest of the ink comes out, I'll have a cut in my skin which will have to scar up. We went to the shop to get a simple tattoo seen in photo below, tattooer laid a stencil, completely blew the lines out and we left knowing it was bad but not realizing just how terrible it would end up. The guy needs to go mow lawns or something not put crappy tattoo's on people to walk around with for the rest of their lives... or maybe go trace things on a piece of paper for practice first. I initially respected ownership for at-least refunding the money but now he's upset that I left this bad review. Crazy to be upset with a customer for leaving a legitimate bad review and not your staff member who did the work, right? Last thing I'll say, maybe get rid of the guy immediately if you have any sense and don't want a bad look for the shop? Word travels fast around here. The reality is he doesn't give quality tattoo's so that is completely on ownership whether or not they decide to allow it at this point.

I've followed tattoo artist, Jeanna, from the last place she worked and I'm so happy I did. She's personable and funny and makes hours of sitting in the chair go by fast. The tattoo I'm getting has many different elements and she's taken the time to make sure and get the composition and feel right. She's the first artist to ask me what it was about the subject that I liked and worked that in to the art. I'm so excited to wear her work. The shop itself is super clean and modern. And everyone I've met that works there has been so friendly and made me feel comfortable. And that's saying a lot for an anxiety ridden old woman like me. 5 out of 5. I was horrifically nervous about getting my tattoo. Jeanna made me feel so comfortable, not only prior to, but during the process. When it was time for my next session, she politely turned me down due to me not being healed enough. That really made know she cared, more about my well-being over money.
