I got on to the Vons app and order groceries because I am disabled. I spent $100 to have all of my groceries delivered and then they delivered it to the neighbor's house around the corner didn't even check the address. My milk sat outside of the neighbor's house for at least 30 minutes along with my yogurt and butter. I called Vons and they told me I needed to call doordash. I called doordash and they said I needed to call Vons. My neighbor didn't want to answer the door. It took me another 30 minutes to get my groceries from them and then I had to carry them home. Talk about a blast from the past! This location has obviously been skipped over for any renovations for decades & is very dated. Come to relive the nostalgia of childhood grocery shopping trips. We stopped by for a few things on a visit to the area thinking it would be the typical Vons/Safeway set up. It's a small parking lot & small store, but we found basic items. Holy hot tub time machine! This Vons is a real relic of the past. If you're looking for a classic grocery store, with a heavy dose of nostalgia this is your place. We ran into Vons to grab a case of seltzers for a birthday party. Stepping into the store I was instantly transported to my childhood grocery shopping with my mom. From the laminate tile floors, to the aisle markers - this is truly a classic. Their alcohol section was quite limited. But that's to be expected in this rather small Vons. Customer Service was impeccable. I was greeted, asked for assistance, and treated well during my checkout. Perfect management, honestly. I hate going to this Vons. It's my local neighborhood grocery story and I only go here when I need 1 or 2 things. Aside of it being over priced, The cashiers, not all of them, but some of them have a terrible attitude and are just blatantly rude. I use to pass it off as they are young people. But that really isn't an excuse. From the looks of this Vons , I'm pretty sure customer service training is not available. New ownership is in desperate need and complete new hires as well. 4/5 stars because every time we come here it seems there is either a homeless person asking for money, police cars, or people shouting at each other in the parking lot. This is the closest grocery story to my aunt's house, so when we need something, this is where we end up. We shop at Von's in the city we live in but our store is very different than this store. Von's always has the items we need so that's a plus. read more

The customer service is non-existent. Today, I went to Vons because I need to gallons of water. When I placed my water jugs on the conveyor belt, the cashier was chatting with the customer in front of me, being very friendly with them. When that customer walked away, thing immediately changed. I was not greeted AT ALL. The cashier, Tessa, rang up my water, grabbed the receipt, held it out to me, and said "Here". THAT'S IT!! She was obviously too busy chatting with two other employees to give customer service. I honestly received the impression that I was an interruption to her conversation. Please Vons, whatever you do, please don't remodel this place at all costs!! I know it sounds silly but I come to this specific location from a long L.A. drive just to admire the way the interior looks!! I just LOVE the vintage and retro look this store has. The nostalgia it gives off cannot compare to those of other stores. Literally I think this and Vons #2386 are the only 2 remaining vons with this retro interior look. Unfortunately this is the only vons in town this is probably my least favorite grocery store, I wish this vons would get remodeled it's so small and really needs to be upgraded. Part of Safeway stores and so we used our safeway card also. Visiting from the bay we were all excited when our groceries were bagged in plastic bags lol. Prices were decent just like Safeways in the bay. However selection was somewhat limited as we were looking for fresh baked french roll. They had some but defin not fresh baked like daily. Rude cashier. I tried to use their sale paper for the buy 4 items get sell price. I couldn't find a item,I asked a young work,he said to ask the cashier. When I was checking out,I asked the cashier about the sugar which is one of the 4 items i needed to get the sell price, She said they were out,I'll give you a raincheck. And you only have 2 items of the 4, I said but your out of sugar,that's not my fault, she said nasty, it's not my fault either, I said so I get the price?, She said no! Then I said but I have the coffee creamer that included in the 4 items on page 6. She said no.then the manager at the next register said is there a problem,I showed him the paper then he told her to give me the price,and I said I'll Buy another egg that makes 4 . Last time I went to this store, a guy was stabbed right in front of the store, the police blocked my car in Andi had to wait for them to get done to get my car out so I could leave.the only reason I went back to this store is because my work have me a gift card. Very rude staff. On a non-busy night, I went to the express lane, the only light on, to pay my groceries. The gal on the express items cashier gave me a smarty, irritated response, "This is only for few items. You should go there", while pointing at the other cashier that wasn't there before and light was off. I told her that her lane is the only one on. She said, "That's fine!" in a manner that conveys irritability. She was really bitchy while scanning my items. She didn't even look at me in the eye and kept silent with a frown on her face like she had the right to be mad. There wasn't a long line of people. Give me a break! A lot of negative experiences I've had before and after that. The last experience I had was when I was looking for an item. The gal was talking and talking to her co worker how she will take her time putting items on the counter. Ive waited for their conversation to be finished before I asked NICELY if they have some of those Mexican spice that you put on pretty much any fruit. I have looked everywhere before asking. I just want to know if it's hidden somewhere. The gal responded, "I don't know. I don't even like spicy stuff", and then walked away before I could reply. It's not about her, it's what I need to buy on that store. I'm really upset how ghetto attitude and how much they have subzero customer service. Managers at this location seem to think very highly of themselves, seeing as how they will loudly proclaim their position at Vons in stores other than Vons. This location also seems to only ever employee a single checker at any given time. Went in last Halloween (big day for buying liquor and candy and such) and there was literally 1 associate checking, took 10+ minutes to purchase a single bottle of alcohol and bottle of water. I don't blame the associate at all, I blame the poor management of this store. read more

This is by far the worst Vons I have ever been to. I just recently moved to the area and the Vons on Main Street is the closest to my home. I was hoping for it to be my "go to" grocery store. But every time I go there I end up having to go somewhere else to get everything. It's a small run down store that needs a major facelift. Yesterday was the last straw for me. I had a craving for spaghetti and had everything I needed at home except ground beef so I thought I'd just run to this Vons since it's the closest. Can you believe they had NO ground beef? None. I asked the guy behind the meat counter if they had some in back thinking maybe they had a special and just hadn't had chance to restock. He told me that their meat grinder was broke and it had been putting metal fragments in the meat so they decided to stop using it. "Ya think?" He also said as far as he knew there were no plans in the near future to replace the grinder. I have no complaints about the staff. They seem friendly enough but it's hard to find someone to help you if you can't find something. read more

So I went to get some shopping done since I didn't wanted to drive all the way to Arroyo Grande I stop really quick to there bakery to buy some food. And they had 2 people one lady and gentlemen he was really help full all the way but the older lady she was rude as hell. I usually shop here because of the convince of being so close to my job. Another main reason why I shop here is because this place is one of the few places that on occasion carry the horizon gallon milk me and my family drink. Majority of the time they carry It but it's either expired or about to expire within 1 to 2 days. Last week I went in, I was excited cause I saw from a far that they had the milk but to come to realize that the milk that they had on the shelf had been expired for about a week. When we tell them that it's expired they don't remove it from the shelf right away. So peeps just check ur milk before u buy it from here. read more
