Vortex Optics is an experience! You can test out all of the scopes, binoculars, etc. The staff is quick to help with any questions you may have. You can have a cup of coffee and you get a hat (maybe two) with your purchase. Their value and selection is so much better than a big box or Cabela's. The products are a great value for the price. Can you buy better for more money, sure, but why would you, for a 2% improvement in performance, at a 33% increase in price. I have many of their scopes, and they are all excellent! My highest grade scope, a Razor HD AMG, mounted on a Barrett M99, took quite a beating from that monster 50BMG rifle, and Vortex re-tuned it, and upgraded the internal components, all under the VIP Warranty program. Their customer service is also world-class. You get to talk to a real person, from Wisconsin, not some Asian call center. I am an FFL Gunsmith, so I know a little about this stuff, and deal with manufacturers customer service all the time. Most are OK, some are terrible (Glock), and only a few are great (Vortex, Sig Sauer, YHM). If you are just getting started with high end optics, Vortex has a great selection of scopes priced for every budget. When you're ready to start hitting that 600, 800, or 1,000 yard target, Vortex is your best value by far. Can I afford the other stuff, sure, but why would I? Keep up the good work Vortex! read more

I recently had a Gen 1 Razor spotting scope on a hunt and noticed it was dimmer than usual when looking and hard to focus. I called vortex and asked for help. They sent me a prepaid shipping label via email. So I sent it in to be looked over at their expense. 1 week after mailing it I called to check to see if they had figured it out maybe it needed cleaning. Come to find out the customer service rep apologized and said could not be repaired. I was shocked to hear this. He said we sent you a brand new one and it's actually arriving today. When I got home I checked the mail to find out they upgraded me to a Gen 2 Razor spotting scope at no charge. Couldn't be happier. Without question the nicest bunch of folks, amazing products and the best customer service I have ever experienced. Recently, I purchased a Viper PST Gen 2 3-15x44 scope for my son. He could not be happier with the quality and performance. When it arrived, he opened the package quickly and was extremely please to find the included sunshade and bikini lens caps. Only thing was, our German Shepherd puppy also found the caps and proceeded to chew them to bits. I called the Vortex Sales Department to find out if I could purchase another set for my son, as the lens caps do not appear in any online catalog that I could find. After letting Vortex know what had happened and asking to buy replacements, I was told that Vortex would just send me a set at no cost. Very cool. But that's not all, a box arrived a couple of days later with the lens caps, two very nice Vortex trucker/ball caps--matching for me and my son--and a Vortex logo'd rope and canvas frisbee for our puppy, Scout. Would give ZERO stars if I could! I am a retired military FFL dealer. I was wanting to order a few scopes either with my FFL license or my military I.Ds. After speaking with Thomas Foulkrod he left an extremely bad feeling of the entire company by telling me that I am attempting to abuse the military discount when I have served my country. I have been medically retired due to a auto immune disease I received while serving that lists me as service connected. Vortex customer service is out of this world! I sent in my old pair of Vipers (10 years old) to be serviced and was sent back a new pair of HDs! Unfortunately, the diopter didn't function correctly. I notified customer service, was sent a RUSH AIR delivery shipping label and received a new completely functional pair within a few days. I had trouble with my Vortex Crossfire red dot. The brightness of the red dot was not working. I only had 1-6 for brightness of the red dot. I called Vortex customer care service. They sent me a mailing label to send out USPS which took a while to get back. But I finally got my Crossfire red dot back from Vortex. To my surprise I thought I was getting my old Crossfire red dot back fixed, but they sent me a new Crossfire red dot. When Vortex says it's VIP warranty is unconditional promise! They mean it! I will be buying more Vortex products in the future! I'm looking at buying soon a Vortex Strike Eagle! Thank you Vortex for keeping your VIP warranty promise! We all can't afford a Aimpoint, Trigicon or Night Force for civilian use since we don't hump our ARs like our military or law enforcement friends do. Excellent manufacturers can be few and far between in many industries but my experiences with VORTEX OPTICS over several years now has led me to volunteer this recommendation as firearms are a very serious subject and one's life may depend upon it. I provided AAA Judicial Services for 17 years on cases to $10million like the Washington Subway so personal protection is important. VORTEX has been around for years and does things for their customers of their free will, they are not playing games trying to figure out how to avoid helping you or creating such long-winded exclusionary warranties, reaching out for help is futile. These are a group of good natured people that STAND BEHIND THIER PRODUCT and simply work towards trying to help when an issue does arise [which is not very often given the quality of their products]. My most recent experience is best evidence of this philosophy they hold, they had me send in a Red Dot Laser Sight following which they unilaterally sent me a brand new device without regard for what happened, when it happened, why it happened, what the status of the guarantee-Warranty was. They were not making do 40 hours of research to find the purchase receipt, cash register ticket, my date of registration; meaning the things a lot of firms do to avoid helping their customers so they can come with excuses for why they refuse to help you or do anything. In my case, it seemed there was a problem with the battery compartment closure plate and the activator switching mechanism. One time I had lost the shroud cover, they sent me another one. One time there was a batter issue, they sent me several batteries and those are not cheap. I have had technical questions, they had sparks coming off their tennis shoes getting me answers and information. It's an excellent product I rely upon, I have special gun leather made by Nightingale in Ohio to accommodate all the accessories on pistol, a 16 Round, FNX 45 Tactical with the Rail Laser, Red Dot and Muzzle Brake. I have point & shoot, Vortex brings me Aim & Shoot, and the Muzzle Brake reduces blas pressures so I discharge 4-5 Round before a bad guy can get off his second. Vortex provides me an excellent product with a lot of features at the most competitive price out there; and their device has proven itself to be the useful and reliable device I have for the purpose. I know I'm good to go with Vortex and make no mistake about my recommendation. I do not know them or have any interest in the firm, they are simply a company I found when buying a Laser Sight. You will not get a better product for the price, nor find a group of people to better service your needs if the need for services should ever arise. read more
