We were looking for a DJ when we happened to stumble upon Leon (DJ Leon de La $co) when we were guests for our friend's wedding in LA. We hired him a couple weeks after hearing him play for the first time and we couldn't have been happier with that choice! He is professional and really understood the mood we wanted to achieve. We met with him via video chat and my (now) husband and I felt comfortable giving him the freedom with choosing music on top of the ones we had consolidated. After submitting an inquiry, we received a neat price breakdown PDF which outlined the package pricing for their different tiers of DJ/MC services. After reviewing their DJ profiles, we knew we had to go with Leon Lee (aka DJ Leon de La $co) because his music taste and vibes were exactly what we were looking for. We couldn't have been happier with our choice to have Leon be our DJ/MC for our wedding in San Diego. He brought the BEST energy and vibes to the party. Personally as I'm on the shyer/introverted side I was anxious about the dance floor leading up to the wedding but Leon's professionalism and experience really shined, because it was a massive success! Leon worked his magic and even some of our shyest friends were on the dance floor dancing and singing the night away. We loved that he was also familiar with k-pop and j-pop. We worked with DJ Leon Lee and he was AWESOME! He was so attentive throughout the entire process and really leaned into our song requests. Prior to the wedding, we had met with Leon and I really appreciated how thoughtful he was in ensuring we had all the right music selected. My (now) husband and I have a very WIDE palette of music tastes with no one pattern that we wanted to play throughout the ceremony, cocktail, reception and open dancing. Leon was able to fuse the varying genres together effortlessly, from hip/hop/soul/r&b, to neosoul, pop, rock, indie, jazz, classical, k-pop, chinese classics, Y2K, 90's throwbacks, movie soundtracks, the pokemon theme song........ etc. Honestly our playlist was so random and he made it work so well!! We hired DJ Leon Lee (aka DJ Leon de La $co) for our wedding in the SD area and bottom line: he did a fantastic job. While planning the wedding, we'd read advice from a wedding planner to invest in the right DJ as a top priority, since music is a powerful yet often overlooked way to create the right atmosphere throughout the day. I'm really glad we took that advice! We chose Leon because he mentioned in his bio something along the lines of really enjoying mixing genres to create a fun and dynamic setlist. This really hit home for us since we love a bunch of different genres, from oldies to K-pop to Y2K throwbacks to Reggaeton & more. During the planning session, we knew we were in good hands because he picked up on our preferences quickly while being very collaborative, offering his expertise when called for. He also took the time to pronounce all our names correctly, which we really appreciated. The ceremony music brought on lots of tears & emotion, the music throughout dinner/cocktails made everyone feel upbeat and lively, and it all flowed seamlessly without any hiccups. Apparently there was one little electrical mishap from the venue (not Vox's fault) but Leon ran over to resolve it quickly to keep the party going. I didn't even notice at all until a few people mentioned it after. He was a great MC and did an awesome job keeping the crowd organized through different parts of the event. The dancing was EPIC. During and after the event, I had a ton of people come up to me to praise his DJing and ask us who he was / where we found him. We gave him a direction for songs and genres, but gave him a lot of wiggle room on songs/flow/timing, telling him to use his discretion to switch it up if the party seemed like it was slowing down. He absolutely killed it - the party never slowed down! I somehow ended up with a mic toward the end of the night and shouted "give it up for DJ Leon!!" to which everyone in the venue started screaming and cheering. My friends warmed up to him so much that a few of them even dragged him onto the dance floor to join us for a song or two (sorry Leon, they're too much sometimes lol). In all, I think we all danced for ~3 hours, and there was never a moment when the dance floor was empty (exactly what I was hoping for). While there is so much that goes into creating a fun and joyous atmosphere for your wedding (the open bar certainly also helped), having a professional DJ who can expertly set the tone is a core tool to really elevate the moments throughout your day. Planning: Leon was exceptional throughout the planning process, when we met with him everything went seamlessly and was honestly one of the most frictionless portions of our wedding planning. The rundown he gave us of every single portion he'd be covering, what all our options were, and his opinions on what would go best were perfect. When we wanted to change something, we would update him and he'd respond immediately. Ceremony/MC: During our ceremony and reception, Leon hit every queue and timing perfectly. He was wonderful and polite with all of our guests, really professional. When we last minute had to delay our first dance, he took that in stride and adjusted perfectly. He was so easy to work with, he worked well with my wedding coordinator to meet the wedding timeline, and he played all the songs my guests and I requested. Not only did he take the time to get to know us before our wedding, but we were provided with forms and suggestions that made the entire DJ experience so seamless and easy. We even put Caleb on the spot asking him to do a "game" for us at the wedding which he had mentioned was his first time doing anything like that but it could not have been more well executed. Overall Caleb was everything and more than we could have asked for on our special day and with Caleb and Vox DJ's we got so much more. I got married this past summer and, while I let my wife do most of the planning, I was adamant that I CHOOSE the DJ. I am extremely picky about music and even pickier about DJ's. An MC/DJ can really make or break your wedding reception. It's the difference between a total rager that no one will ever forget and a blah blah cookie cutter playlist that everyone always hears and no one dances to. To me, you really need a DJ who can play to the room. Someone who has a good sense of who is at the party and what will get them moving and enjoying themselves. Too many times I've seen DJ's playing to the youngest (with raunchy rap or EDM) or oldest people in the room with tired, cliche wedding anthems to the total neglect of everyone else. Rare is someone who *gets* how to play to everyones tastes at just the right moments. Well, I can proudly and enthusiastically say I knew EXACTLY who I'd be hiring for the job. I met one of the DJ's at my cousin's wedding and he freaking ROCKED the house. Not only with music but with awesome MC'ing. I knew immediately (even though I wasn't engaged yet) that this is who I'd be having at my wedding. Fast forward 3 years, I called Vox, secured their british DJ rob. And just like I'd hoped, he absolutely killed it. He was totally on top of every detail, coordinated with the band, made it so easy and stress-free for me. The entire process for booking and working with VOX DJs was extremely easy and straight forward. My venue required that I booked a DJ from their preferred list and VOX DJs was on the list - upon perusing their site I noticed that they had a roster of DJs serving various so cal locations. I received a response fairly soon after putting in an inquiry and had requested a bilingual (English/Vietnamese DJ MC) for my wedding. The response I received was that there were only 4 DJ MCs that were actually approved by my venue to play/perform there - so I reached out to my venue to see if they'd make an exception. The venue agreed to the exception - unfortunately a few months before the wedding date, the DJ MC was no longer available - but VOX DJs was able to quickly help me find a solution and booked a separate bilingual MC Khanh and approved venue DJ Christian Manzo. Both were amazing to work with and very communicative. They made sure that mine and Scott's requests or preferences were fulfilled. We did one in person meeting with Khanh and follow up emails to ensure our timelines/any announcements, etc that she needed to make were correct and in order. We completed a preference sheet with music selections, etc and sent to Christian, then did a facetime meeting with him reviewing our selections and any other preferences. Khanh made sure to communicate with Christian so they would be on the same page - the wedding day was fantastic, and everyone raved about Khanh and Christian. Khanh perfectly announced the wedding party, family members and any activities that we were doing in Vietnamese and English with seamless transitions (my family members couldn't stop raving about her). Christian had the best music selection and had everyone dancing throughout the evening. We are so grateful for them both - their expertise, professionalism but also own personalities. On 6/1/19 my wife and I hired DJ Obi Whan to DJ our wedding. Prior to the wedding we met with Kevin and went over song selection, important people and the itinerary for the day. On the day of our wedding Kevin was on time, went over last minute details with our day of coordinator as well as checked in with both me and my wife as the day progressed. Once the reception was going and the dancing started he kept the party going, he got everyone out on the dance floor, hit all our favorite songs, at one point I even saw him out dancing with everyone.
