We had a family reunion (10 people) in a corner of Sea Grove park in Del Mar on Sunday. An Epic Events coordinator showed up and said they had the entire park for a wedding and made us leave. I just got off the phone with Del Mar City Hall and they confirmed that was a lie. We've lived in Del Mar for 12 years, often enjoy public weddings (L'Auberge does them VERY well in the park) and give them plenty of space and deference. We had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Secret Garden in November 2025 with Epic Events for 175 people. We cannot express enough our deep gratitude to the entire Epic Events team who made our dream wedding come to life. Laura, Drew, Kendra, Mary and the entire Epic Events team were there every step of the way coordinating and offering advice based on their past experiences. On the day of, the team kept the event running smoothly and did so many things behind the scenes that I know we weren't even aware of. (And that's how it should be!) The champagne cart was a great addition for guests to enjoy a drink before the ceremony. Epic Events thought of all the details and added extra decorations to the memory table and sweetheart table for us. Our photographers Kristina, Tammy, Jessica and videographer Brian were very professional and put everyone at ease. Brian even brought his drone for some overhead shots. The sneak peak was provided very quickly after the wedding with 50+ photos that all looked amazing. It's worth noting that it's only possible to take romantics photos at The Inn if you have someone you know staying at The Inn. Our phenomenal DJ recommended by the venue, DJ Chris Freeman, kept the dance floor going the entire night and was able to put together a great playlist after a conversation with us about our favorite songs and preferences. He also transitioned between songs very well. Jerri, our florist recommended by the venue, out did herself with the stunning white, green, and blue theme. I fell in love with Hidden Chateau for our venue but I REALLY FELL IN LOVE the day of our wedding. Epic Events did SUCH an amazing job organizing and decorating and really made my vision come to life. We worked with Epic at their Secret Garden venue for our wedding and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. They provided basically all the services and vendors we needed, and everyone we spoke with - Mary in particular - was so helpful. There were no horror stories about hidden charges - it was truly such a positive experience from start to finish. Our photographers and videographer were so wonderful - Ella, Tammy, and Kolya. You end up spending a fair amount of time with the photography and videography team during the day, and they made it such a pleasant experience. Neither myself nor my husband are particularly comfortable in front of a camera and they gave us excellent instruction. We had our wedding at the Secret Garden at Rancho Santa Fe in January! Overall, I want to say that the entire Epic Events team is amazing! I loved working with all of them - Laura, Mary, Kristina, Brian, and others. I know they're super busy with many people's weddings, but they really make you feel like you're ~special~. Coordination - We did our initial planning with Mary, and then Laura handled all of the final coordinating. The day before the wedding, I dropped off all of the decor and was STRESSING so hard about how everything would turn out. I had provided some instructions, but was worried that I didn't give enough direction. The next day, I showed up to a beautifully decorated venue. It was so much more better than what I had envisioned. Laura did an amazing job of handling everything, and made it so easy for me to just enjoy my wedding day! Photography / Videography - Our communication started off with Allie, who did a great job of walking us through and building out our timeline. Our photographer ended up being Kristina and our videographer was Brian. They're literally THE BEST. They made us feel really comfortable while shooting, and made the entire process so easy. We've gotten our sneak peeks and teaser video back (with a super fast turnaround), and I am so so happy with how everything has turned out so far. DJ/Music - DJ Big Willie Style was great! I am kind of a control freak, so I still ended up making playlists for everything, but told him that he could deviate from the list to better suit the crowd. He did a much better job of playing to the crowd's vibe than I could have. Our friends and family aren't huge dancers, but he managed to have a good number of people dancing throughout the night. I also want to add that I live in Boston, so I was communicating with the team primarily through email/zoom calls. The Secret Garden is a stunning venue (both outdoors and in!) with an incredibly kind, detail-oriented, and down-to-earth team. My husband and I just celebrated our wedding there in February 2023 and, from start to finish, we could not have been happier with our experience. The venue itself is spacious, but feels peaceful and intimate. We held our wedding ceremony in the garden, which was absolutely beautiful. Our guests also enjoyed exploring, taking photos, and playing lawn games on the grounds during cocktail hour. The indoor reception space is also ample and lovely, particularly once decorated and filled with loved ones. The fact that the Secret Garden has both an indoor and covered, outdoor patio on the property also provided reassurance that our wedding day wouldn't have to be compromised in the event of rainy weather. The wedding package offered by the Secret Garden is pretty much all-inclusive and top notch in terms of quality and care. The caterer, photographer, DJ, bartender, service staff, as well as the wedding coordination team took time to understand our vision for our wedding day, offered thoughtful and creative ideas, and went above and beyond to make the planning process as well as our big day went off without a hitch. In the months leading up to our wedding, friends and family would often ask us if we were feeling stressed by the wedding preparations. Our answer was always a grateful "No- not at all!" because of how seamlessly the Secret Garden/Epic Events team managed the entire process. We just wanted to say thank you so much for making our wedding a smashing success! You took such great care of us for the past year and everything went off without a hitch. Mary, Kimberly, Bianca, Kendra, you all did such amazing work and we couldn't have asked for a better team. We're really and truly blessed. We recently had our wedding of ~80 guests at Lot 8 in San Diego, which is managed by Epic Events. It was a huge success due to all the help and planning that came from the whole coordination team at Epic, especially Mary, Kimberly, Kendra, and Bianca. Special shoutout also to Joel and Giovanni who helped prep and clean up on the day of! We originally reached out over a year ago and visited Lot 8 in person to go over the space and review the possible options for our wedding. Kendra helped go over all the key points of the wedding package that included the venue rental, photography, DJ, and event/day-of coordination. There were a lot of items that were available to use for free or rent, which was really convenient and reduced the stress of finding lots of commonly needed things like centerpieces, tables/chairs, some signage materials, canopy, etc. Mary, in addition to generally staying on top of everything, was able to help put us in contact with their photographers and DJ, which helped reduce the stress of finding and vetting these services for ourselves (which can be challenging and time consuming). The photography part of the package included an engagement shoot in addition to the wedding day-of. We had regular email communication over the course of several months while we were finding outside vendors for food and entertainment, in addition to in-person coordination meetings 6 and 1 month out to go deep into the weeds of planning and make sure that all the small details were accounted for. The excellent communication was critical for staying organized and keeping stress to a minimum, as well as for making last minute changes like renting a big tent only a few days beforehand in case of rain. Kimberly our day-of coordinator, with help from Bianca, was a huge help in helping us establish exactly how we wanted the day to go and bring our vision to life. Kimberly was super attentive the day-of and took care of all the logistics with vendors arriving and leaving. She made sure we were having fun and also helped a bunch with set up and take down. Epic was great! My fiancé and I hired them for our wedding at the Kona Kai Resort and Spa. We were originally planning to get married September 2020, but with Covid we decided to postpone to September 2021. Epic was flexible and allowed us to to change our date without fuss, which we really appreciated. Epic provided the coordinator, florist, DJ, and photographer. It was very convenient for us because we didn't have to run around looking for vendors. Every vendor they provided was great. Jasmine, our coordinator, did a fantastic job the day of the wedding. The florist nailed our vision. Our wedding flowers were perfect. Ruben, our DJ and MC did an amazing job with music and announcements. And Kristina our main photographer was incredible. Our first look photos turned out perfect. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. I dinged one star because we did have a few communications issues. It was hard to get responses to questions from our florist after our initial meeting. It was eventually resolved, but after waiting for a few weeks. Photography - Ashley and Allie, you two are ROCKSTARS! Taking photos all day can be overwhelming, but these two made it so comfortable and enjoyable. We received sneak peeks 2 weeks after our wedding, and they turned out amazing! We can't wait to see the rest :) DJ - DJ Shaun Blaze kept the party going all night, and that's exactly what we wanted! He worked with our playlists (I was pretty particular) and he nailed it. Coordination - Epic provides a month-of and day-of coordinator. Jennifer Hahn, the lead photographer does amazing work. I can't believe how good she made us look in the photos I've seen so far and I can't wait to see the rest. Jerri, the florist, created the most beautiful florals for the wedding. I was so in love with all of the bouquets, boutonnieres, and arrangements. It was truly beautiful and she is so creative--I loved it. The bartenders were also so great and took care of us all night. It was such a fun time! I can't say enough about how great the entire wedding was and how thankful my husband and I are for how everything turned out. My wife and I got married at the Secret Garden at Rancho Santa Fe on 11/16/2018. Where do I begin...This entire team was amazing from the first meeting we had with them, to the end of our EPIC wedding night. This team of professionals knows exactly what they're doing. They each are dedicated to providing their customers with a personalized and one of a kind experience. Christian and Julie are a dynamic duo and their experience in the wedding industry is obvious and much appreciated. To say that they went above and beyond for us would be an understatement. Haley is incredible, funny and extremely hardworking. She is a true allstar and made sure every detail was taken care of and that no question went answered. She has a true passion for what she does and was an absolute dream to work with. DJ Dan was spot on with his skills. He played what we wanted, how we wanted (mother / son, father / daughter), and improvised on the rest of the music like a champ. The dancing didn't stop all night. Jen was such a blessing throughout the entire wedding planning process. She listened to exactly what we wanted and didn't want and made getting photographed seamless and comfortable. She is beyond sweet, extremely talented and so flexible. She took three days of out of her life to ensure that nothing was missed from each of celebrations. Jerri was so genuine, kind and easy to work with. She also possesses a true passion for what she does and words could not describe how beautiful our floral arrangements and decor were. She made our wedding vision come alive. The entire Epic Events team at the Secret Garden at Rancho Santa Fe are amazing people, professionals and artists. ALERT - this group is impossible to work with, they do NOT return emails or calls. I guess business is so good for them that they can turn away business. I was looking for a venue for an upcoming company milestone event, I contacted Epic Events and made contact with Julie on 2/25, since then I have left numerous voice mails and sent emails for interest in this venue...CRICKETS from Julie! I called and spoke with a Mary and she had zero answers and kept giving me empty apologies. When this call ended I realized I could not give them my business due to the unacceptable lack of communication and attitude. There are so many other great venues in San Diego who are happy to accommodate you and at the very least they would return calls. I am surprised with the positive reviews only bc I can't even get a call back to discuss my event, let alone book an event to be able to even leave a positive review. I am happy for the people it worked out for, but for me, NO WAY!!! I believe some staff training in working with the public is needed here. Good luck should you hire Epic Events. read more

I just wanted to update my review after our wedding. I absolutely love the team at Epic Events Group. Our wedding day was the most perfect day we could have ever imagined. Everything went smoothly and if anything did go wrong, we had no idea. This company has such a professional team and they knew exactly what we wanted for the big day. Jerri (florist) created such beautiful arrangements for the big day and just from a one in person meeting and one last phone meeting, she created exactly what we were envisioning. It was so perfect! She really used the Secret Garden venue well and I kept hearing how dreamy everything looked. Jennifer (photographer) captured so many wonderful pictures and she just outdid herself with the lovely photos of the day. They are so great it is hard for us to choose which ones to frame! Daniel was an awesome DJ! We chose most of the music of course, but he timed everything perfectly and even gave us a playlist to help us remember the day. We have listened to it many times! Dana was our coordinator for the day. I was afraid I (the bride) would overwhelm her with my wedding day jitters, but she was able to get all the decorations and everything I had been discussing with her set up exactly how we hoped. She was lovely when it came to rounding family and friends up for the rehearsal and never stopped smiling. She was such a lovely and warm person to work with for such a stressful time. Christian and Julie have such an amazing team and they are both the sweetest people as well. They sent us emails checking in to see if everything was going well and even thanked us again after the wedding day. Epic Events Group truly cares about their clients and they made the whole wedding planning process feel like a fun adventure like it should be.
