Dennis and Marlon were so great at our wedding! Our guests kept telling us the DJ was playing amazing hits and they were vibing so well with everything Dennis played. Our ceremony was outdoors, and our guests could perfectly hear everything, from the music to our vows. Though some songs were mixed up for some entrances, it all still worked out and flowed nicely. My wife and I were really lucky to book Premier Entertainment as the DJ service for our wedding. Big thanks go out to Dennis (DJ) and Marlon (Emcee) for making our special day extra fun and memorable! DJ: We first spoke with Dennis over the phone and he went over the services he would provide and answered all the questions we had. We would continue to be in contact via email and eventually set up a meeting in person. For that in-person meeting, my wife (fiance at the time) and I somehow completely forgot about it and didn't realize it until we were contacted by Dennis asking if we were still coming. Dennis was nice enough to wait for us and was so cool during our whole meeting going over what we wanted for our wedding. From that first meeting up to the actual day of the wedding, we had many questions and changes and Dennis had no problem with any of it and handled everything great! He played all the music we requested and the selection of music he chose to play fit perfectly with what we like. Emcee: As for the Marlon, we actually didn't meet him until the day of wedding which was no problem at all. He came up to us and got to know us with a few questions. He really did put in a great effort in learning the pronunciation of some of the names he had to say and believe me when I say that those names were pretty intimidating at first glance. He even said my last name correct on his first try! Marlon got the crowd going when needed and kept it fun the entire night. After the wedding, all our guests were surprised when we told them that we just met him that day because he made it feel like we were old friends. That, for sure, was awesome to hear. Music is a key element into how my husband and I were brought together so it was very important to us that we found a DJ that understood that as well. After the initial DJ we spoke with left us hanging for weeks without any communication and quoting us at a price higher than what they initially quoted it got us a little worried about the way DJs conduct business professionally. However with Dennis at Premier Entertainment, he showed us what it is to be a real DJ and put our hearts and minds at ease that he would make our wedding his top priority. We had met Dennis at a Bridal Show on Valentine's Day and he was very warm and approachable, giving us great insight as to what each package consisted of. Once we signed on with Dennis he sent out a live Google Doc to help us communicate the wedding timeline details and was always available for any questions or suggestions based on his long history DJing. He was able to work in a lot of choice songs from a playlist I sent him and on the wedding day was able to build a set based on what the crowd energy was leaning towards--which was a lot of 90s boy bands..and Justin Bieber. If music is really important for your wedding, hire these guys. Dennis did all of the necessary prep work. After an initial consultation, sometimes you don't hear from the vendor until a couple weeks before the wedding. Not Dennis. Not only did we communicate via a 'working playlist', but Dennis was also involved with our reception site supervisor, our wedding coordinator, and our caterer. We had lots of funky rules and regulations with our venue, but Dennis was on top of it. On the day of, Dennis stayed pretty much true to our playlist. We had a multi-cultural wedding, and Dennis played music that had everyone on the dance floor. I asked for no slow songs, but when the groom asks you to play something, you play it. So, I let that one slide, lol. Marlon was great with emceeing. He did not hog time, trying to make jokes. He was all about the business of getting us to the next part of the night, and ultimately, to open dancing!! I was also grateful that he did not play the entire song for our first dance. It was an afterthought for the hubs and I and we were so happy when the music stopped. (WE ARE SO AWKWARD). I danced all night. Also, can I say how awesome it is to just walk up to the DJ at a place, and ask him to play a song, and he plays it??!! That never happens for me! I think I asked for the wobble, twice, lol. A DJ is more than just someone who plays music during your wedding - they read the guests and make sure everyone has a good time. During the wedding planning process I received a lot of unsolicited but appreciated advice (1) Have an OPEN bar (2) Serve decent food, does not have to be great but also cannot be bad (3) Have a GOOD DJ. A DJ can make or break a wedding. They (along with the wedding planner) run your timeline and get the guests' attention for important events during the reception. So (like many couples) we hit the wedding convention circuit ---- but never found anything we truly liked --- Lets face it... some DJs are wayyy gimmicky even over email. Lucky for us, Dennis was our first and last DJ interview. We definitely didn't want the DJ that was like "heyyyyyy everyboddddyyyyy ! pump your fists" type DJ. We just wanted someone who could mix could music and play what we wanted and not be overly cute or lame and could overall just make a good party! During the wedding planning process -- Dennis was organized and gave us a draft timeline. He had great suggestions and accommodated us when we thought we might need two dance floors (small one for toasts and a large one for dancing). Turns out.. we never used the large one, everyone was having too much fun in the small dance floor. From the moment we walked into our reception at the New Children's Museum and I heard all the familiar songs we had requested I knew it was going to be a GREAT party. The only complaint we had from the guests was that the cake cutting was not announced. Some people heard it and some people didn't but since the cake was all gone when I returned to our dessert area - I think that people figured it out. Also --- pricing. We emailed a LOT of djs. And as much as I wanted to cut costs and save money - there were definitely some inexperienced DJs out there. Premier seemed too good to be true. They were budget friendly and took care of everything --- lights, projector, sound system and of course the experience of working with 250+ guest counts! When you're planning your wedding you usually get caught up in pricing (his pricing was great btw) and details and tend to not think of responsiveness, but I totally got lucky with him because he was so easy to work with. You realize after your wedding is over who was good and who was not so good. Do yourself a favor and use him, it will alleviate a lot of stress, trust me! You're able to choose your involvement level in music choices for your event and if you want to be super involved like my fiance, he makes it really easy. He shared a document that all parties can make edits to at any time. He not only did my music, but also the uplighting and monogram light. I didn't give much thought to this, but it was included in our package so I thought of it as an "extra". Well it actually made our venue, and the lighting was fabulous!!! The MC that Dennis brought was awesome, he kept the party going, chimed in when he needed to, and actually brought a camera and took free photos in addition to our photographer. We didn't even know this came with our package but it was awesome! He captured some really fun candid shots the whole night. Our guests kept commenting on how "nice" our DJ was which I thought was kind of funny, but when you're dealing with a drunken crowd like ours that just goes to show how professional he is! 5 Stars is not enough to describe the amazing experiences we have shared with Dennis and Marlin not once but at 3 of our family events ( 2 Weddings & 1 Quinceañera). These guys truly feel like a part of our family and we will NEVER book anyone else ever again! Their attention to detail with all of the little nuances and questions that I threw at them was great. Even when I had "just one more question" up until the last minute, they answered it quickly and efficiently and came through with every request. Marlin's energy as an MC is unmatched by anyone I have ever seen. He surprised my daughter and I with a last dance at the end of her Quince and even coordinated our guests for a group photo ( something even my photographer didn't think to do). They ebbed and flowed with our guests and matched music that made everyone happy. Not an easy thing to do with a room filled with various ages requesting everything from rock and roll to salsa to panic at the disco. My wife and I were 100% satisfied with our experience with Dennis and his MC, Marlen. Dennis DJ'ed for us on our wedding day June 21st, 2015 and everything went flawless. The sound system was clear and crisp and the music selection was spot on. We couldn't be happier. The MC was great, polite, and charming. Dennis really showed that he cared about our wedding as if it was his own. He texted/called/skyped/emailed us to remind that we needed some song selections for our timeline. He also gave us suggestions on things he experienced from DJing at Scripps Seaside Forum - such as seating arrangements for the ceremony. Little details like that goes a long way.
