This is a great place to hold an event, party or wedding. This is a former hub for streetcars back in the day but has now been turned into an event space. Interior brick walls, high ceilings and open floor plan allows the venue to become accommodating to almost any kind of event. It has that vintage but industrial kind of ceiling. There are a lot of great photo ops in here. There are also photos/info on the walls that tells the history of this place.

The space is a reclaimed TTC barn and has five 'barns' each labeled with giant steel numbers. First is the artist live-work space, 2 is the event space where you will find the market on Saturdays in the winter and various other community events, 3 is the community theatre, 4 is The Stop greenhouse and kitchen, and 5 is the open air barn. There is also a children's playground on the east side of the building, an open field that becomes an ice rink in the winter on the south end, an off-leash dog park at the south-west corner, beach volleyball court on the west side, and plenty of benches and picnic tables scattered throughout. Some additional notes: ** The Market ** During the cold months it is indoors and runs 8 a.m. - noon. It gets crowded by 11 and goodies like cinnamon buns don't last until then. Bring cash, your own bags and if you're really good, your own travel-mug for the wonderful Kurtis coffee. Interesting vendors include the venison guy, sweet potato man, Mennonite meat lady, knife sharpening guy, tofu dude, the fungi, and the freshwater fish people. In the warmer months it is outdoors and runs a bit later until 1 I think (it is still indoors as I write this so I'm not sure). The vendors are spread out over the walkways under their tents. Half the fun is stopping to chat with neighbours so check your usual Toronto sidewalk pace as you might get stuck behind a stroller and wagon jam. There are several vegetable vendors that also sell organic and heirloom variety seeds and seedlings in the spring. Too bad last summer was so cold and rainy - even so the purple tomatoes I planted were wonderful! ** The Dogpark ** It has weird hours and no commercial dog walkers are allowed. It is closed everyday between noon-3 p.m. and opens later in the morning on Sunday. I'll take a picture of the sign next time I'm there because it's confusing. There is a human + dog drinking fountain but the city doesn't turn on the water until mid-May so bring water for your pooches. Best doggy party times (as with most parks I'm sure) are from 5 - 7 p.m. There might be a morning party but I'm never up early enough to find out.

The drive thru is roughly 30 minutes however if you stop over to take photos at the haunted house and pick up some candy the entire drive thru experience might take an hour. The weather was perfect that evening so we had the windows down to take photos and videos. It was a fun little drive thru and a good way to get into the Halloween spirit.

Check-in and badge pickup were easy, and everything was clearly organized with signs showing where the lines began and how to move through ticket scanning and up the escalators. The event map helped a lot, and vendors were easy to find. There was a great mix of food, drinks, desserts, chocolates, warm meals, and even merchandise, plus short chef demos and fun bartending classes happening throughout the festival. The venue itself handled the crowd well, and the aisles were clearly marked, which made walking around comfortable. It was nice to see live chef presentations where they explained dishes step by step. Parking is available in both the North Building and South Building garages, which is convenient, but it is on the expensive side.

Got in lots of steps, including 25 mins walk each way to and from the venue; a good way to work off 5% of the calories I consumed! Near the centre of the hall, there are a few stand-up tables and a DJ. Near the front of the hall, there are many tables. There are cooking demonstrations by renowned chefs. I've been to this arena a few times during university when friends would rent the ice. So, if your…read morequestion is: can I rent the ice? The answer is yes. The ice is nice. They do a decent job of taking care of it here. I also know that the ice gets rented out a lot of school hockey games and practices, both varsity and intramural, and it seems like the right kind of venue for that stuff. It's not a pro rink by any stretch, but it's the kind of rink you'd go to for a house league game when you're 10. Like most rinks of this caliber, if you're not on the ice, you're probably freezing your but off sitting in the stands. But there's a good sheltered area (right at the entrance) where you can watch a game without fear of frostbite. You should also be aware that the rink is not located in the best area. It's a bit sketch around there, but not so sketch that you need to bring a baseball bat for protection. Your hockey stick will do just fine.

Having moved back to Toronto recently, I thought it would be great to join to meet other young professionals, and we did. This is the perfect place to meet new people over a bottle of wine, or bring old friend by to help you enjoy one, or two or three. The price for a locker is reasonable given i can store a 10$ bottle of wine that i would normally pay 50$+ for at a restaurant, so two bottles of wine per month i and i consider that i saved money (contrary to some of the other comments below), plus got all the other bonus' i mentioned. I found other members to be very nice and approachable. Its located in a quiet nook of DT Toronto (east end) which makes it hassle-free: no gridlock, plenty of cheap parking, no line ups no blaring music you cant stand (as opposed to the King West scene). The VC quickly became our "go-to" place and we enjoy the classy atmosphere. We have also booked the private dining room to host an event (birthday). The food provided by Andrew the chef was not only amazingly delicious, but well priced, you cant get a meal like that for the value any where else in T.O... Whether you may be looking for wine storage, a place to meet people, a place to hang out after work/weekends, or a place to host corporate events, I think that this place caters to all and the proprietors to a great job in running the place.

Its exactly opposite now. For the smallest locker it costs ~$95/month to rent, (they charge you a 3% credit card fee) and there is a one time "initiation fee" of ~$75 as well. The location being on the east end near financial district is not ideal either. The number of corporate events have increased dramatically. Most weeknights esp. Wed, Thurs and Fri you would have some bank or financial institution having a client session in the lounge (note the lounge is not too big) and you would be expected to keep your voices down (or keep your little session with your friends to a minimum) because "there is an event going on". The whole premise of paying a premium for a private member's only club space is lost in my opinion. Secondly, when it started the owners (Andrew and Costa), were a lot more humble and nice which has again dramatically changed after the "success" of this place. They are planning to open a couple other locations as they see this as more of a money making business machine now (nothing wrong with that) vs. what they sold me on - a small family owned type wine club where you would feel personally connected and welcomed. Completely commercial outfit now. Its a great place if you want to hobnob with suits and old men.
