I was in need of a cut as my current stylist is out on maternity leave and due to the fact that AARP recommended this place for a Senior discount haircut. I will be coming back and booking with Roy. He is an excellent master barber and really knows how to deal with kids. For the first time ever I was able to leave my toddler in the barber chair. At other shops I've had to sit with him and hold a tablet or a phone. Roy put on some cartoons, talked it up with my son, I gave my kid a sucker and he was fine. Terrible management. The owning group is only interested in billing. To my understanding this is at least the second owner. The current wants seems to be completely hands-off. V's was terrible in the past with having front office staff. It is even worse. With the current management you will rarely if ever get a phone call answered. I scheduled a 3:30 appointment with Bruce. He came highly recommended, and I scheduled the appointment since I had to take work time in my day. I couldn't sit around waiting as a walk-in. When I arrived, there were two barbers. One checked me in and told me Bruce was in the back but would be out shortly. The other was working on a customer. After fifteen minutes of waiting, I left. I told the barber that Bruce could find my contact info in the appointment and to have him call me when he could schedule and keep an appointment. At that point in time, the other barber finished his customer walked to the register and threw on a condescending, sarcastic demeanor. "I'm Bruce." I spent fifteen minutes waiting for a barber who was allegedly in the back, while he was right there...but just couldn't be bothered to acknowledge me--not even a "I'm with someone. I'll be with you in a few." 15 minutes late. If I'd been 15 minutes late, I'd have been pushed to the back of the line and treated like a walk-in....which I would up being treated like anyway. Hard pass. Don't clown your customers, Bruce--not when there are plenty of barbers looking for loyal customers who tip. read more

Should have rated this place in blades, not stars. I felt like I was commanded to do things. I got several cuts while being shaved. I was supposed to get face massage (prepaid by my wife), and I didn't even get that service. After an hour long incomplete shave, I didn't feel like asking either. Felt like there should be a medic on standby, while getting your shaving done. One star is for a reasonable hair cut. Facial was a big joke too. I felt like the barber had issues touching my face for facial, she applied cream in isolated patches and put hot towels 3 different times. I came two weeks ago and got a decent cut. (No appointment- just walked in Sunday afternoon. $21+ $4 tip. ) I went back on Thursday last to get my cut trimmed up. ($17+$3 tip.)The woman who originally cut my hair was busy- so I got Bruce. All Bruce had to do was trim around my neckline and blend it in. It's simple really- especially for a guy who "specializes in fades". I specifically told him that I didn't want a full fade and that I was growing out the top of my hair. I asked him to "skin the sides and back" showing him with two fingers what I wanted. He said "and just blend it it to the top" and I said yes. I also told him not to trim the sides and that I was growing it longer for a combover. During the cut he pulled out a comb and started trimming the sides!!! I told him "I'm growing that out , remember?" He said "No uh there's a line I gotta get." He was real quick with the mirror and I didn't look too hard- it was when my kids laughed at home that I realized something was wrong. Left to right the blend is splotchy and crooked. Front to back both sides of my head are uneven. I was so angry that I thought I'd cool off for a few days before writing the review- but I'm not cooled off. I'm still furious, so here is my review. Hey Bruce: It's not hard really: just keep your eyes open when you're cutting someone. Take a look at what you've cut. Don't send your customer walk off looking like he's got a blind barber. Normally I do appointments and always go to Will. He does an amazing job on my hair. Today I did a walk in with me and my son and got Roy. No complaints on my haircut. I normally go for a medium length professional look and it was fine. However, my son wanted a very close, tight fade and it came out looking awesome. My son was very happy with the new look. Gave me railroad tracks on the side of my head, parted my hair wrong and cut it so it looks like I have constant sleepy head with the hair he left just standing straight up, and also, when lining the back up my head up, they made it very crooked. This place is great! I've been looking for a friendly place to get a nice looking haircut for my three year old son and V's Barbershop is our new favorite place! The atmosphere is awesome, feels like a high-end men's salon but with barbershop prices. Each comfy looking leather chair had it's own tv - they even changed the channel from ESPN to Disney, which was a big plus in my son's book. The barbers were all friendly and attentive. Went to V's for a cut based on other reviews. On my first visit I walked in with no appointment and they were booked so I decided to try another day. The second time I called and talked to Pete and he had an avaiable spot that day so I took it. He listened to my needs and gave me a great cut. I have thinning hair and a receding hairline so let's say I have special needs when it comes to my hair and Pete did a fantastic job. Needless to say Pete is my new barber. Went just before Christmas and the experience was really terrible. The guy who cut my hair was super sloppy and cut the front in all different lengths that looks terrible even a couple weeks later. After the haircut I tried to get it fixed with a different barbor from the shop, but they said I had to see the same person and he was booked until after Christmas. Not wanting a bad haircut for Christmas I asked for a refund so I could try and see someone else, which the manager agreed to, however the staff made a big deal about it when I went to go pick up the check. Excellent experience. This place is top shelf, the upper echelon of men's haircuts. I have been to great clips and super cuts and they were ok but that is like comparing little league baseball to the major leagues. I scheduled an appointment with Sam after reading several positive reviews online. Sam is a real professional. It is like an artist except his medium is hair instead of paint. He took his time and made sure I was happy by asking several times during the haircut (after doing the sides , after doing the back and after doing the top) if I liked it or wanted it shorter. He was very friendly throughout. The icing on the cake was the straight razor shave on the bake of the neck followed up with a hot towel draped over the back of the head while getting a shoulder massage like a prize fighter. I normally would laugh at such a thing thinking what would I want that done for? But I must say it was nice and relaxing. I highly recommend this place and Sam. Everyone wished me a nice day as I walked out. If you have a special event to attend and you want to look your best for it, hit this place before you go to your event.
