We came in for the 4th anniversary sale-- me, hubby, & daughter home from college all got the Volcano pedis, $269.20 + tip, $20 for each person($60). The service FANTASTIC! Not happy we didn't get to pick a card at the end. We saw other people do it. As repeat customers who spend real money, that's insulting. Either make the card draw for everyone or don't do it at all. I have always loved Ms. Ann and never had any problems with this establishment until recently. I went in because I needed my left great toe fixed after receiving a gel pedicure that started peeling the very next day. I was told to wait for additional staff and ended up waiting over an hour. During that time, four different people told me someone would be back to help me, but no one ever returned. When I finally approached the counter and asked to speak with the manager, I was told there was no manager on site. I was very disappointed with the customer service and lack of communication. I've been coming to VSL nail salon since they opened over 2 years ago. I've used several nail techs, but Peter is my go-to guy. He knows exactly how I like my nails and they look perfect every time I leave. The pedicure chairs are to die for. They massage and have heat. What else could you possibly want with such relaxing experience? Oh wait, a glass of wine? You can have that too. The techs will serve you a complimentary beverage, be it soda, water, or wine. The salon is beautifully decorated in upscale marble. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. There are also some new services here that I haven't tried.. yet. Lash extensions and eyebrows. The technician did a sloppy job on my nails. I went back to get them fixed, she saw me there and didn't even bother to ask what was wrong. The woman who ended up fixing my 2 nails was RUDE!! All of my nails needed to be fixed but I didn't ever bother as I didn't want to deal with anymore attitude. I spent almost $70 just to get my nails done and for them to look sloppy is 100% unacceptable. The rude service was also unacceptable and unnecessary. I could perhaps deal with the rude service if my nails weren't jacked up or dealt with my nails been jacked up if the service was good but to have to deal with both was too much. I will not be returning and do not recommend. read more

I enjoyed my visit to this salon with my sister and brother as we were preparing for a destination wedding in Mexico. We chill out in the massage chairs while we had pedicures. The space was clean and comfortable. The nail technician was a gentleman and thoughtful. read more

I've been here twice now and I will never come back to this location. What I believe to be the manager is kind and always walking around which was slightly reassuring but even with him present the other employees seem to be slacking. If you HAVE TO go here GO TO A MAN !! Each experience I've had with a female has been a negative one ! They rush, are rude, did not do the full extent of the service that I paid for and acted as if it was the worst thing ever when I asked for simple things, that shouldn't have to be asked for. I was polite the entire time and they didn't seem too concerned with the fact that they were in my face being disrespectful. Little did they know I could understand their conversation. Today I got a gel pedicure and this woman did not wear gloves, did not pay attention to details, had an attitude problem, did not clean under the nails until I asked and still did not do it well or do all of the toes, did not make the shapes even, and more! She blamed the fact that my French tip big toes were uneven due to my nail shape... She was the one who cut them unevenly, the least one could do to correct it is paint the white line even. She had lazy energy and one she started on my hands she was more of the same. She did not soak my hands in hot water, she did not let them soak long enough, and once she began to cut my cuticles she was rushing and cutting abruptly. She cut too far on some and hurt me. Once I had had enough I told her to stop mid service and left to pay. She was rude at the check out and the price I paid only made me more unhappy because it was not for a good service! Simply put don't go here, don't got to a woman, don't go to HER especially, and good luck. read more

Me and my boyfriend WANTED classic manicures. But they keep pressuring me to try to get a gel manicure (which is $20 more). I told the man that was doing my nails no and he kept asking over and over after I said no. My boyfriend on the other hand, who only was supposed to get a classic manicure with clear coat, but was given a gel clear coat without being asked. When we went to check out they charged us 50% more than the total was supposed to be because of this. The worker never told him the total price, until he noticed himself when he put his card in. He then asked the worker why was the price so high and she didn't respond. The manager then came over, to ask what was wrong. He explained the issue and she didn't want to correct it at first, until he told her a few times that he was never asked about gel. She then said she would void the transaction and then preceded to ring us up for the correct amount, we are not sure when we should get the refund. The manicures were good, the manager was good, but the communication made everything fall apart. read more

Ive been to VSL in Bartlett before and I love their work ususually . However, I received a gift card from them today, I assume if you spend over i certain amount you get to pick one. The front desk lady said they range from $5-$100. I had asked them to see how much was on the one i picked and when he checked it he said $270!!! He held on to my card and called another lady up to the register and she said NO THATS NOT RIGHT. They changed my gift card to 5$!!!!!! Handed it back to me and said it only has $5 on it. I was pissed bc technically that was MY GIFT CARD!! Mind you i spent $360 total bc I paid for 4 people. I asked a police officer that just happened to be in the area what my options were legally and he said that's a civil matter and "that nail salon gets calls on them to us all the time, just yesterday another lady called"!!! I recently started looking for new nail shop's in Memphis, TN. I've been going to the same nail tech for 7 years or more but fortunately for her she found true love, married, moved away but it's VERY UNFORTUNATE for me! These past few months have been AWFUL, but my latest experience with VSL( Stage Rd.) was good the first time, second time not so good. Third time, I thought I had found my new place but today I go in for the same service, dip, mani, and pedi. Things was going great until it came time to paint my toes, the color I chose. The tech got up and porred (Alikin - nail polish removal) in the polish! For those of you that pay for the ( Gel polish) on your toes, because it lasts longer ( Extra $20 to $25 on your bill ) ! Thats the illusion that's created, if they STOP diluting the regular nail polish with the "Alikin" which is mint to thin or dissolve something, then it would last longer without chipping or fading, especially if it's a good product! So, in other words they're padding their pockets with that practice $$$$$. But running a bill up for the hard working customer! A VERY DISHONEST PRACTICE!!! And they should be ashamed but they're NOT, that's about 90% of the nail shop's here! But they will say, " Oh, its because it's thick so we have to thin it out" ! Well, they're thinning the color as well !!! Just open a NEW BOTTLE, and STOP stretching the use until its ineffective !!!! read more

I never write reviews let alone create a whole new review page for a company but this time it's 100% worth it. My Mother is a nail technician of 33 years and while I've gone to many salons I never found anyone who did a proper manicure without cutting the skin instead of just the cuticle. Cutting off the skin creates hangnails so I would always get the nail service without the cleanup then go home and do it myself. I finally found the greatest nail tech alive! Kim did my mani/pedi and a review is not praise enough! I told her she can never retire and can never leave VSL because she has a customer for life! Love my nails! read more

I sat in a chair for about 20 minutes and they did not put water in the tub to soak me fee. I chose the deluxe pedicure, $58 it probably took her 25 minutes. My wait time was longer than the actual pedicure. If you pay cash you are supposed to get a 30% discount my total was supposed to be $40.6, with tax $44.36. She charged me $47.
