I used to do nothing but brag on Vystar, even wanted it to expand outside of Florida when we left. But, since this last update, which occurred this spring, it has been absolutely horrible. Here it is months later, and although they say online banking is up and running, it is not. Every time I click the login button, it spirals into "System is temporarily unavailable." Information is limited, documentation is a nightmare, and customer service is shotty. Yet it is sending a bunch of emails to invite me to other services. No thank you, Vystar. I will no longer recommend this credit union and am moving my funds. read more

I have been a member for a few years and even stuck with them through the IT upgrade nightmare while all my friends were shaming me for it! Yesterday I visited the branch to finalize some issues with my accounts and to do some work on my auto loan (possibly refi with Vystar) due to the fact that I have Stage 4 metastatic cancer. I sat there for 40 minutes with no one even approaching me - also saw employees standing around "high fiving" and just generally doing not much. I was not alone in the waiting area either! I finally got up and let the "Guard" know to take my name off the list! I then came back to my office to reach out to someone via online chat to get a manager contact info to let them know of my experience. I sat waiting for someone to chat with for 15 minutes!!! REALLY I would encourage anyone considering this Credit Union to look elsewhere. they used to be good - those days are long gone!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I'm a VyStar member now for 19 years and typically receive fantastic service from everyone I come in contact with either in person or on the phone. Unfortunately, that is not how things went yesterday. It was so out of character for VyStar I feel compelled to let you know. I needed to sell my vehicle but I still had a loan on it through VyStar. I wasn't sure of the process so I called the main 800 number and talked with Dawn who was outstanding. She expertly enlightened me on the process of satisfying the loan and obtaining the title for the buyer. She explained that it is not a huge ordeal but something we would do with a special services rep. Dawn answered all my dumb questions and educated me for 15 minutes about what to expect in the branch. I didn't want to screw up the car sale with the buyer or in any way inadvertently walk out of the branch with invalid documentation. I felt confident and knowledgeable now after hearing Dawn's expertise. So I walked into the 103rd St. VyStar branch with the vehicle buyer and explained to Vicky, working the reception desk, what I wanted to do. We had thousands of dollars in cash, we wanted to satisfy the loan, obtain proof of purchase with a bill of sale for the buyer, and expedite the availability of the electronic title to a paper title from the DMV. Vicky explained that could all be done with any of the tellers. I felt like I was getting different information from Vicky than I did over the phone with Dawn. I let Vicky know that my concern with going to the teller window was that they might not be able to do everything for this type of transaction for both the buyer and the seller. Vicky reiterated what she had told me initially and I politely conveyed that wasn't what Dawn explained to me. After 10 minutes, Vicky knew what we needed and said she would go ask a supervisor and I could go have a seat with the buyer. Vicky never took my name or member number but went off to get more information. We patiently waited 15 agonizing minutes for Vicky to come to us in the waiting area with a printed bill of sale document she and her supervisor printed from the DMV website. She explained that the bill of sale document was just for the seller and the buyer and that we could proceed to any teller and get everything else taken care of there. At the teller window, we were warmly greeted by Connie, who asked how she could help. I explained our needs to pay off the loan, initialize the e-title to paper title for the buyer and have proof of the vehicle sale. This is where Connie very nicely said that we needed to go to reception, by the front door, and get put on the list to work with a special services representative because this type of transaction can't be completed at a teller window. I thought back to my call with Dawn and remembered that's exactly what she eloquently told me. Then I realized that's also what I questioned with Vicky when she told me to go to a teller window. I told Connie that when we came into the branch, now nearly a half hour ago, I explained in full detail what we needed today to Vicky at reception. I went on to let Connie know we tried very hard to get put on a list to work with special services as Dawn explained on the phone, but Vicky insisted that everything we needed could be handled at a teller window. Nearly a half hour in the branch now I'm being asked to start at the beginning, go back to the front door and let Vicky at reception know my intentions. It shouldn't be this difficult to find the right representative at VyStar who can help a member. I didn't have to say a word. Connie knew the look on my face said it all. Connie realized that after being in the bank now for almost 30 minutes we had been unnecessarily given the run around and not handled well. Connie was apologetic and immediately went to work getting someone from the other side of the bank, the side we wanted visit. The same non-teller/special services side Dawn told me on the phone we would have to use to complete our needs. The same non-teller side Vicky wouldn't let us visit. Thankfully, Connie and the other representative who came across the credit union to help Connie, were both able to graciously complete our requests at the teller window where we were not supposed to be. Connie even notarized our hand written bill of sale paperwork the buyer requested. The first half hour of my credit union experience is not what I'm used to as an upstanding credit union member of almost 20 years. For Connie to go out of her way and pull in the resources necessary to take care of a member almost makes up the prior 25 minutes of frustration with Vicky. read more

I've been a member since high school and my partner has been a member since 6 yo at Jax Navy Credit Union. It used to be for Navy family only but opened it to anyone that lives in the county. They seem to be pretty conservative with their lending, but never had a problem getting a loan. I've had car loans, personal loans and mortgages with them. I've also used their drive-thru, had a safe deposit box and investments with them. Everyone is helpful and even though they are busy, the wait is usually not too bad. They are my personal banking place of choice. Vystar Credit Union has many branches and ATM's throughout Jacksonville and the surrounding areas, which makes it very convenient. The Fleming Island branch is close and works for me. It's clean, newer, and never disappoints. Try them, you will never go back to a traditional bank again. read more

Notified of a fraud alert. A large sum missing from our account. Spoke with CSR who was friendly, knowledgeable and wouldn't go until all the details were completed. Had the total amount back in our account in less than 24 hours. Don't think a bank could do this. Kudos! ! ! read more

So I became a member of Vystar a few years ago. Brought my business and my personal banking to them. Let me first say, the people at the Fleming Island branch are exceptional. Always friendly, helpful, and seemed very compassionate about my needs. I wasn't very keen on the fact that I couldn't wire from my business account, online. I had to go in, or phone in & email for security. Quite honestly Vystar is not equipped for business issues. So we moved from Florida a year ago, and wiring got even more difficult, and in the overall grand scheme of things. relocating didn't help us with business transactions. My son, who also has a Vystar account recently lost his debit card, and it literally took 10 DAYS to get a new card. THANK GOODNESS I LIVE HERE!! IF I DIDN'T LIVE HERE, HE WOULD HAVE HAD NO GAS, NO FOOD, NOTHING TO LIVE, FOR 10 WHOLE DAYS. THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE! That card should have been EXPEDITED to him, and the representative should have offered that. Sadly, I closed my business account, and still have my personal account, but am not using it as much. I have since moved everything to Chase. I understand Vystar is a Florida bank, but not everyone stays in the same place for decades, so they truly should keep up with the banking industry. Something as simple as online wiring access is very simple, and if Vystar is going to try to bring businesses into their house, they need to keep up. read more
