I did business with VyStar for about sixteen years or so. I also had a Jax Fed account as well. It became increasingly hard to juggle between the two Credit Unions. So, I made the choice, for convenience sake to go with Jax Fed, since one branch was located in the Federal Building. I really do believe that Vystar has any Credit Inion in Jax beat. I miss Vystar and regret my choice to leave them. Maybe some, I'll switch back. I miss using the lock boxes for jewelry and important papers, etc. VYSTAR ROCKS! read more

Customer service from phone to in person is way off they charge you for new cards when it was shut off due to fraud which wasn't told me, other wise I would have had it mailed to me. Teller was extremely short and rude with me when I asked when that changed or why and just said that's the policy do you want one or not ... place was busy due to it being a sat but I did not take more time than he needed I asked while he was issuing me a card I said hello he didn't respond I said thank you he said nth just rude Between this and the multiple shut downs of the online banking and trying to get a hold of customer service I will be pulling my accounts from here read more

I was told to call the phone number to resolve my issue with being on hold 5 hours and then 1 hour 45 minutes. Just tried using the new web site the say is working and their home page sends you to because they have not created a home page. Now the site they send you to does not work at all. I have nothing but a spinning circle. When I try to call they say they are having high call clout and cannot take my call. So now they have taken away all possible way for me to get help without going an sitting in the bank. Yes this is progress for the worlds worst credit union. My wife refused to move to a credible credit union even though VyStar cannot give me access to my accounts outside going to a branch. They have taken banking back 30 years. read more

They should just take the drive thru atm out at this location. I can count on two fingers the times I've actually been able to use the drive thru atm with success in the last year. I come the same time every month and it's always unavailable. Walk up usually works but I don't always feel comfortable getting out of my car in the early morning darkness. We have been members going back to the 1970s. I have to say it's a love / hate relationship. Their rates and fees are good. Their systems and customer service are not so good. I believe they tried to grow too fast and didn't focus on the customer experience. They lack training in some cases and don't seem to have the proper staffing to handle their enormous growth. If you complain you will get an unsympathetic response - in my experience anyway. Their systems are often buggy with lots of errors and outages and their security protocols are infuriating for the real customer who has to deal with ridiculous challenge questions that are not answerable! It seems like you are assumed to be a bad guy until you prove otherwise. Which is fine but having to answer the last dollar amount of your recent debit transaction is a ridiculous approach to proving identity. Do they assume everyone has that info memorized? They handled my fraud case really well recently so kudos for that. But I think they need to understand that their customers don't have all day to handle simple matters. Whether on phone hold or waiting in the parking lot of the local branch for a text telling you that you can come in. And yes some simple things can be handled via the phone or via the banking app - but if you are unlucky enough to need a real person to help you - the waits are ridiculously long. Especially now with the covid protocol. Luckily we only need their help once or twice a year! read more

Poor training. People don't know how to do their job. Give you wrong information. Tho are very complacent.

Mobile banking and bill pay are not good. If you are not paying a nationally known company it can take over a week for Vystar to actually send the payment. This delay forces you to send in payments a week to 10 days BEFORE the due date in order to not be late on a payment. Considering these payments are to a company that accepts ach payments it is inexcusable. I've always supported credit unions but for an organization this big to use such an archaic system has me looking for another place to do my banking. read more

Terrible!!! Stay away if you are a business. Let me start by saying this is a business account. Not personal. On this account our average daily balance is over 100K. There is approx 6-12 transactions on any one day. On 4/26/2018 I go to Lowes to pickup my online order that I used my debit card attached to my "corporate" account. It was declined. Know that there is plenty of money I call the fraud protection line. I get one of the most ignorant people I have dealt with. Knowing this is a 3rd party I hold no ill feelings to vystar at this point. After rudely being asked multiple verification questions (I completely understand the need) and me not knowing the answer to the amounts of my last 3 transactions im getting a little aggrevated. Who knows the exact dollar amount of their last transactions when there is approx 12 per day spread out over 3 employees. So I call the office, get that info and move on to the next questions, after about 10 more minutes, this is where it gets REALLY GOOD..... The person on the phone tells me OK, we have to call the number on your account. Of course this will be a business number that rings the office. I explain that I am standing in Lowes and I will not be able to answer that call but someone at the office will surely pickup. She states that it has to be me that answers that call. Now, if this isnt making sense, imagine that you are in a different city on corporate business and this lock gets put on your account and you need to eat. Because you are not at your office to answer that call, there is nothing they can do although I just answered more questions than when I was in school. She would not release the hold on my card and when I explained my scenario, she states "It is what it is" I cant do anything else for you. So I walked away empty handed. If you have a business, under no circumstance should you consider Vystar. You will regret it at some point. The reason the fraud lock was put on my account, get this........I purchased lunch at the Loop in Jacksonville but then ordered an online order from Lowes which was processed out of North Carolina. She stated it was suspicious. Come on, give me a break. Lowes is a nationwide company. Their online orders much be processed in North Carolina. It just goes to show you that because WE the customer are limited in our liability that Vystar will do everything they can to not have to be liable for fraud even if it means leaving you out on the side of the road someone out of gas and cant get fuel with your debit card because you arent at your office to answer the phone and tell you "it is what it is" and give you no other alternative. As soon as all of our checks clear, we will be pulling every single dime and closing our account read more

If you live in Oakleaf or Arygle area and have Vystar - this is your place. The service inside from reps to there drive-thru made my transition from Japan back to the States non the less perfect. I've worked with a rep for the past 2 days and she was amazing and let me email files I needed to do and followed up with me and made sure it was perfect for what I needed and gave me more information that I was interested in (loans, car loans, etc). I went in today to pay for a credit card and the desk clerk was very friendly and helpful and engaged in conversation while finishing my transaction. Made me felt welcome. read more

Without going into story I will simply say that after wasting a LOT of time with multiple (6 to be exact) different customer representatives I got nowhere but beyond frustrated. Only one of the six actually knew the company policies. That's just the beginning. Needless to say I will not be doing business with Vystar Credit Union and I don't recommend them. read more

This is my bank! They are always willing to help me. The guy there named Mike is so helpful he help me set up my account and my three daughters account. They have this awesome change machine in there you just put your money in the change machine and deposit in your account no issues. Very convenient location and they have a drive-through! Bank of America next-door only has ATMs and a lobby bummer. read more

This has been my bank since the 80's when it was Jax Navy, always had great customer service and friendly tellers. In the past year they have fallen short of what I expect out of a credit union. The web site is very unstable and the mobile banking almost never works. When you go to use the mobile ap you are required to authenticate your account with either a call or text. I opt for the text; but never get a text. I travel a bit and need to have access to my account. Another inconvenience I have had lately, Some years back I opened a secure credit card to boost my credit score to purchase a home, rarely ever used the card and now have excellent credit, so I closed the card. They had a hold on $400.00 and advised me it would take 30 days to remove the hold, understandable. On Monday of this week I called, as it had more than 30 days, and was told they were putting in the paper to release the funds. It is Thursday and funds still on hold, I called and was advised they took a week to put in the cancel request so it won't be till 16th of this month. That is 41 days, I do not know what is going on with the management; but it seems very out of control. I bank with several other banks and never have issues, I only keep them for the availability of a branch to go to, maybe it is time to remove my money, transfer the loan I have with them and part ways! read more

Listen.... I've banked with VyStar for almost 10 years and have never had a negative experience at ANY other location. I dread coming to this VyStar because they are always understaffed and the staff they do have are very negative. I love VyStar but this location is the worst. I really really cannot express how unusual it is to receive this type of treatment from a VyStar facility. 0/10 would not recommend. read more
