I went to replace my card and was told by the representative with green hair that the system was down for card production. I waited nearly 30 minutes for the system to be fixed, but it still was in the works. However, Vanessa Akans updated myself and others of the progress while apologizing for any inconvenience. However, I needed to leave for meetings. Vanessa kindly took my contact details and promised to inform me when the system was back up. I kept hanging into the accounts here because you can get a real human on the phone instead of a robot. HOWEVER, they have been going downhill so fast, it's shocking. Between interruptions in online service which has become an ongoing problem, to the SLOW way their mobile deposits work, I'm shopping for another credit union. I don't have a large account, but I deserve better service than they have been providing. It was explained to me that a lot of customers have expressed the same complaints...yet they do not remedy them. So avoid the problems and DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

I have been a member for twenty plus years. This credit union has all but devolved into the worst banking experience of my life! My most recent is an instance of online fraud was reported for an online purchase and no resolution in sight thirty days later. As of this am (10/27/2025) I wasted two hours on hold and no one answered. So, cutting my loses. The sole reason I have not closed my account is due to the reestablshing of checks, inbound rent payments, and mortage payments will be a complete PITA to reestablish for all the parties involved. A recent fraud instance (with another competitor, USAA) resolved my claim in an afternoon with superb customer service in ANOTHER state! The current CEO, Brian Wolfburg is apparently more concerned with Woke, LGBTQ+ issues than his Jacksonville's customer base. Additionally, every subsequent iteration/rollout of their mobile banking has been abysmal - the GUI (interface) is far from user-friendly. I'm truly upset since I convinced my wife to open an account with Vystar and presently shares my dissapointment as well regarding their service, or lack thereof. In closing, I know options for another institution abound. So shop around, I am and look forward to closing this account with Vystar and finding another financial institution that values their customers and provides at the very least, adequate services to their current members. Hopefully the issues I have articulated prompt this Credit Union to tighten/revise their operations - they're wholly unsatisfactory as of this date, 10/27/2025. read more

I have tried to form a relationship; I have pleaded for help and for 3 1/2 years, I was told my account was not able to be viewed online, I have wasted hours/days on the phone, to try and correct the problem; Finally after a Better Business Bureau report was filed, it was fixed. However, the system used is somehow flawed, continuing to not record functions such as set up auto payments, causing issues every month and stress for not knowing if my credit would be destroyed. It was and is a full time job. I have many interactions w/ Vystar and not one took accountability. I would not trust this bank with loans at all, they will ruin your credit if you are not on top of your loan. Pretty hard to do when refused access to your own online account. Do better, Vystar, your treatment was sad, and took a toll on my time that I cannot get back.. Stay away from this institution or you too will experience the lack of concern for your money. read more

VyStar Credit Union - Better Business Bureau Report. - Banks & Credit Unions Near Me - Jacksonville, Florida

I have both a mortgage and a home equity loan at Vystar. The problem started early this month (Mar 2026) when I tried to find my Mar 2 mortgage statement for the payment due on Apr 1 but NO statements were available on my loan page online. I can see a larger than usual loan payment due on Apr 1, but there is NO documentation to explain why the amount increased. I also looked for the annual escrow analysis to see whether it might contain info to explain the higher loan payment due but it was not available either. I have called Vystar Loan Dept twice now, including a chat with a Tech rep. Both missing docs have been generated but they can't be accessed or posted to the online loan page. WHAT? They are aware of the problem and are "working on it" but have NO info as to when I can access my up-to-date loan info. BAD!!! read more

I have been with Vystar Credit Union for over 65 years. That was when they were just a small Bank. My Dad introduced me to this Bank. We loved it so much. We received approved Loans on Mortgages, Cars, Credit Cards, etc. We had Bank Accounts, and also CDs. However, about 6 or 7 months ago I had a fraudulent attack on my credit card and had to get a new card. BUT, I lost all my Rewards which was over 117,000 OMG....and tried to get them transferred back to my New Card with on results with 2 months of trying with many representatives on the phone, emails, texts, and even in person. It is now September2024. In 2023 their online banking was down all summer, today I'm in the hospital I need to zelleoney or at least do a ACH transfer to chase so I can pay my mortgage. BUT NO!!!!!!! ZELLE network is down but this app is not allowing me to set up a ACH with chase. Instead of trying to get better in a hospital I have to deal with an incompetent bank I'n big letters Vystar says we are sorry ZELLE is down system wide but we are working diligently to fix it. But if ZELLE is down would ZELLE be fixing their network. Vystar has their own definition of diligently to them that means 1 to 6 months just like the online outage in 2023. To prove this to myself I ZELLE $1.00 from Chase to Florida Credit Union and guess what that worked. So not only is Vystar is broken they lie! Yeah looking forward to the 1 hour hold time to try to get my mtg money to chase. If I can't I will have to borrow it from my 85 year old Step mom. I hope Vystar burns in hell! The San Marco Vystar branch located on Hendricks Avenue is THE BEST. I always receive outstanding customer service. Mallory Haynes in particular has practically taken me under her wing due to the fact that I am a dummy about bank stuff. However, the entire staff is easily the most professional of all the local branches. I highly recommend going to that branch if you cannot be serviced online or via telephone. My credit union was eaten by vystar. My atm card & online banking were closed with nothing but insurance sales & bs mailers from vystar. No one answers the phones. I couldn't do online banking because I didn't have a vystar account number so I went to Roosevelt branch. When walking in, there were only construction workers. No receptionist or anyone to ask for help. I wondered if they were even open for business. Then in the back I saw a group of people. It was a long line & just ONE unhappy teller ... an unpleasant black man. . After a 20+ min wait, I explained I had been cut off from all access to my funds, needed help & an account number. Well, it was easy to see he wasn't happy with his career choice! . He told me I received a package from vystar. I didn't know anything about any package & told him I didn't get a package. I thought I had all I'd need to get help. Picture id's & statements from my ex bank. No ... he kept telling me that had gotten a package. I tried to tell him what I needed but he clearly didn't care & couldn't get past the NO PACKAGE & help me. He all but called me a liar. I received NO PACKAGE! Finally I got upset & loudly said "I didn't get a package. Does that mean you won't help me?!?" That got the attention of some woman. She came over & told me to go to a different area & get in another line. I realized I was not going to get help from these inept people. I said an unpleasant goodbye and left. I went to a different location and closed all my accounts. Vystar has so many problems. The biggest is that they don't have any idea what they're doing and don't hire competent help. They're gobbling up other banks when they have never been able to handle what they already have. vystar focus is ONLY on getting bigger with ZERO focus on why vystar is there & ZERO helping their customers ... the supposed reason for vystar. I gave up on vystar a bit ago when they screwed up their own banking system. My finances got totally screwed up by vystar incompetence. . Nothing has changed for the good. Vystar has only gotten bigger, more inept and incompetent. They kill the competition so they can treat us like garbage and we have fewer places to go. read more

I had the most insensitive, lack of any compassion, and morally corrupt experience with this credit union...and I have never been late on a payment! It was an insurance issue. They weren't willing to work with us at all. They told me they don't send out emails, only physical mail. The amount of money we have to pay to keep our RV (again, of which we've never been late paying on), is obscene and a reminder of the greed that permeates the air. I will never work with this bank again and will never recommend them to anyone! read more

In all honesty from someone who has banked with Vystar since I was a little girl and into my adulthood as this bank turned into "Vystar"; I am leaving this bank. It's crazy to me. I financed my home, had CD's, got my car loan from them but I've reached the tipping point where it isn't smart to stay here. (1). You should know that when you make an appointment to see someone in the branch that the appointment time isn't kept. I was recently told that the appointment time is a time they try to make but if a walk in arrives and is on the list, the walk-in gets seen before you, even if you had an appointment scheduled. Throw in, after the walk-in appt is completed, you are not next because they are quite often understaffed and need to leave the office to help the front desk. 3 hours later after my appointment time, I was seen. Unacceptable. (2). When I met with the person they had to call to ask questions because they did not know the answers or how to complete the financial process. This was shocking. It's the reason I came in to see someone in person. I was paying off large loans and wanted to make sure I got the paperwork (which they said they'd mail and I still haven't received) and paid all hidden fees. * Instead, the person helping tried to convince me not to pay off my loans. I felt like I was sitting in front of the old-timey used car salesman. (3)They are less competitive now with other banks on CD's and interest rates. (4) When I refinanced my home with them years ago, it was not enjoyable and took way too long. (I think I wrote a review about it a while back.) Combine this with the branches that are continuously understaffed and the financial problems a few years ago when we didn't have access to funds digitally and bills weren't paid through our automatic payments set up.... and I'm done. As you can see, I am a creature of habit and want to be loyal but this bank has turned into a horrible version of its former self. read more

I am so frustrated with Vystar and their new mortgage system. First, they transition to a new mortgage system during the mortgage payment due date Dec 1st through Dec 3rd. Who does this during a critical time period. You couldn't make a mortgage payment until Dec 3rd, meanwhile, you are accruing daily compounding interest. So, they had to expect a large call volume, that may have been avoided. Secondly, once payment was made, it showed the incorrect mortgage balance. It literally add 10k to my mortgage balance. So, more calling..It was taken care of after a week. Thirdly, I made a principle only payment 12/14 via online, I chose "principle payment." Well, after a 4 days, I noticed the payment was not applied, but found out, the payment was in a suspended account. I called Vystar mortgage department, and they said they were experiencing high call volumes(I bet you were) the system stated, I can leave a call back number and agent will call me back when it's my turn..So, I pressed the button for a callback and guess what. It hangs up on you. I tried twice just to make sure it wasn't me, nope it hangs up... So, I called back and was on hold for 43 minutes before an agent answered. She said, they didn't know how to apply the funds so they put it into a suspended account even after choosing principal payment only. She stated it will be taken care of the next business day.. Well, it December 24th, and the payment is still in suspension. I have been on hold for over an hour to try and get this resolved again. Meanwhile, Vystar is collecting interest on my money. While on hold, I decided to write this review. Enough is Enough. Who is running this company with such bad decisions? CEO, is this acceptable to you? Vystar Board Members, is this acceptable? Someone wrote me a bounced check that put my account in the negative. Instead of contacting me the closed my checking debit card before I had a chance to collect the funds. I received the missing money from bounced check through cashapp but couldn't deposit it because debit was canceled. This was all in about 5hrs from time account went negative to me trying to replace funds. Bad companies have bad policies. Suspending a debit card for six months on an account that has never been overdraft with no notification! Great job vystar read more

I'm so lucky to have this location on a road that I am driving up and down multiple times weekly! It's fresh and brand new with new features on their ATM at some of the older ones don't have! Their response time on getting the new upgrade on the website and mobile app is crap and unacceptable. There was literally NOTHING wrong with either one and both platforms didn't need to be fixed. Some of us have bills due before the 1st of the month and use online bill pay for paying bills. Their IT Department needs to literally be working 24 hours to get this fixed. They are going to lose lots of customers and $$$$ if this doesn't get resolved ASAP. This has been going on for almost two weeks and the Board of Directors for Vystar need to "light a fire" to the CEO, CIO, CFO, and IT Department. read more
