Parking: Free limited parking directly across the street(arrive super early) pay for parking on-site $20-30 possibly more or less. No street parking at all It used to be called Stockbridge Amphitheater just in case you hear ppl still referring to it by that name. This is a really nice medium sized venue. They do offer various types of seating reserved General Admission, Hightop tables, Box sections, VIP Seating which is the closest to the stage with tables. The venue does a security search through metal detectors, be mindful of policy on bag sizes, cooler sizes & allowed vs unallowed items. Dont be the person to have throw something out or walk back to your car. This is a heads up. The venue also allow you to bring coolers with food & drinks. They do have vendors who will be selling food, sometimes they have food trucks as well. In addition they have bar that serves alcoholic beverages. Overall, its a nice venue, with a nice set up, the staff are friendly, if you are able go to the box office on certain days to purchase tix, it will save you on those high Ticketmaster fees as they do charge a very smaller fee. Be prepared for a small walk if you dont park in the limited free parking or pay the fee to park at the venue. Also, some business also offer fee parking in the area and that also is a walk. The sound system is good. I have seen several artist who come & walk through the audience as they perform. It is a rain or shine venue, however, if its thunderstorms or lightning they will stop the performances & see how to proceed. If they have to reschedule you will be able to use the same tix for the rescheduled date. I will keep going back to Stockbridge Amphitheater as it is well worth the price of tix, the distance which is 30-45 min from College Park Area which is next to the airport (just to give you an idea). We went to Vystar Amphitheater in Stockbridge to see Trey Songz, and this was actually my first outdoor concert, so I was excited for the whole experience. It was HOT, but I was there with my girls, the energy was good, and once the concert really got going we had a great time. The biggest downside was the rain situation. At one point we found some empty covered seats because it was raining and nobody was sitting there, so we stayed there for a while instead of getting soaked. Toward the end of the concert, a security guard singled us out and called police over to make us go back to our original seats in the rain. What made it frustrating was that the covered seats were completely empty, and even the officer seemed confused about why it was being made into such a big issue. That definitely put a weird little cloud over the night. Trey Songz also came out later than expected, which was a little annoying, especially after sitting outside in the heat waiting. But despite all of that, we still had FUN. The music, being outside under the night sky, and just having a girls' night made it worth it. I'd definitely come back for another concert, but I'd probably be a lot more prepared for the weather next time. Overall, fun venue and a really good night, but the security experience could've been handled way better. read more

Went to Bobby Brown stood in scorching heat while security Entrance was operational. Due to the excessive wait my sister who is a 22 yr Marine began to feel faint. Rather than continue i addressed her heat stroke and we left venue to obtain cooler environment. Spoke with Miranda Smith. Unsympathetically she said there was no REFUND OR OTHER COMPENSATION THAT WOULD BE OFFERED. I wonder if their Mayor could assist with this DIASTER. read more

This was my first time going to Vystar Stockbridge Amphitheater. We went to see an artist named Ledisi. I have been in Stockbridge many times and never noticed they had a music venue as nice as this place. We purchased 3 VIP tickets at a table in front of the stage. We were entitled to entering the venue through a special entrance near the side of the stage. There was no wait compared to the line at the regular entrance. Once the usher showed us our seats we settled in and set up our table. There was a couple already sitting there and it was plenty of room to share the table. The venue did not allow you to bring your own soft drinks or alcoholic beverages, however you could bring your own food. As part of our package we were entitled to a free pic on the red carpet. That was cute. The venue was a hit with us as a group. The sound was excellent and the vibe was amazing. read more

Uncovered venue so best case scenario in summer is oppressive heat or rain. "Threat of lightening?" You may see 1/3 of a show or no show at all! TICKETS Save fees by buying directly from the box office, open weekends. Ticket prices increase closer to the event. PARKING/Rules Want good parking? Prepay only and it sells out. Orange lot ($43) near City Hall. Blue ($23) near the amphitheater. Website mentions free school parking but the lots I saw charged what they wanted. Coolers allowed (no glass). Website says no umbrellas & clear bags only. Patrons with umbrellas and non-clear bags were admitted. No reentry. PROS Short security lines and clear views with inclined seats and a large screen. $$$ VIP tables in front include valet parking but you have to look up to see the stage. Friendly staff will guide you to your seat. Possibly no more free ponchos "due to China." MAJOR CON NO rain but Mayor Ford announced he was stopping the concert due to the "threat of lightening." Only 1 of 6 artists gave a full performance before we were evacuated. He had the luxury of waiting at the venue. Even after it stopped raining, he said the show couldn't continue until the "lightening cleared" but didn't say how that would be communicated. One attendee said "if you hear music and see crowds entering" it's resumed. Another said this is a regular occurrence. She sits in her car until 11pm and if it hasn't continued she knows it will be rescheduled. After we hiked to the car it rained then stopped, then sprinkled. After an hour we walked back assuming the show would resume. It didn't. We waited longer but after seeing lightening we left, assuming the concert would be rescheduled. The next day I looked for the new date. Our plans were ruined but a makeup show was better than nothing. VyStar posted on Facebook that the concert had resumed at 9:37 pm, 7 minutes after we left. Technically, they can wait until 10:30 and have a 30 minute show, VyStar will not issue a refund. Patrons who returned complained the show was rushed. Artists only got to perform 2 to 3 songs each because the city requires events to end by 11pm. They paid full price for 1/4 of a show. We paid for nothing! COMMON SENSE ALTERNATIVES 1. Cover the amphitheater like Mable House. 2. Honor their "Rain or Shine" policy allowing the show to go on. There was no emergency so patrons should be able to decide whether to stay. 3. Communicate updates via text, email or say "check Facebook." 4. Reschedule or refund tickets. They didn't because they don't care. SUM Don't pay full price for an abbreviated show and risk getting soaked or kicked out due to threats of lightening. Avoid VyStar Stockbridge Amphitheater! Patronize a covered venue. Or at least one that respects customers enough to refund or reschedule when the show is stopped and patrons are forced to evacuate. read more

Went to see the O'Jays, the Whispers & Johnny Gill last night. It's an absolutely beautiful theater and there's literally not a bad seat in the house. However, they need to clean up their check in process! The check they do for glass in coolers causes a complete bottleneck....unnecessary bottleneck at that! The restroom was pretty decently maintained. The vendors prices were astronomical, and I'm not a cheap person, but $18 for two Italian ices was a bit much! But to the show....William Palmer, Jr. did a phenomenal job hosting the show & keeping attendees engaged during the intermissions! J. Gill's show was aight at best! He came out, cursing up a storm talking about how hot it was, but then ended his show with a complete gospel show! And I have nothing against gospel music. Trust me. I love me some gospel music, but whatever Johnny Gill was paid, he should get most of it to Dottie Peoples because she did more thing and then he did. I have never seen the whispers, and when I tell you, they did a phenomenal show. It was really a great show. It was very energetic, very entertaining and just overall great and the sound was absolutely phenomenal! Now, the mighty mighty O'Jays! They shut that thing down last night. That is such a professionally done show. I was just really glad to be able to see them. They sound just as good as they did. 40 years ago! I am so glad that I got the opportunity to see them because I've never seen them perform live! So many of their hits were played in my household pretty much every Saturday morning as we were doing our chores! I am really grateful that I was able to take my Mom to see the show read more

First time at this venue and it was amazing! Very well laid out, nice view from all seats and many options ( stadium seating, tables, cocktail tables, lawn seats etc). I was here to see the Isley Brothers and After 7. Parking wasn't the easiest, but there are many local parking lots (school, church, closed businesses near by). The only downside of the venue is concessions. I stood in line for 35 minutes just to purchase water. There has to be better methods of running concessions. Additionally, they were running out of food items. 30 minutes after the show started a manager walked up to cashiers and announced "no more nachos & no more chili fries...SMH! Security, police & event staff was attentive, but not invasive. They were very helpful and allowed patrons to have fun. Overall, I give it 4 stars. It would be 5 stars, but there has to be extreme improvement in concessions. Did I mention the line for alcohol was even longer than food and beverage!? read more

I have been to The Stockbridge Amphitheater 4 times this summer and I love it!! Not only do you get to see awesome performers but some of the shows are free!! One of the concerts I saw was on the 4 of July it was free and it was Tamar Braxton, Case, and a few local bands. They have a variety of food trucks cause you're going to get hungry. We got there around 1pm to get our tickets because even though it was free you still had to have tickets for seating purposes. I caught another free show on Juneteenth. I paid for Fantasia/Joe then my last show was Cameo and The Zapp Band! They allow a small cooler for outside food and beverages which is great! Alcoholic beverages allowed in your cooler as well. Tip: I have been caught in the rain and they gave us ponchos and I've experienced extreme heat as well no umbrellas are allowed so I had a small portable fan and I did come with my own poncho. The show must go on!! Overall DJ kept us lit Our host Palmer Williams Jr. is hilarious and we have a great time! I even took my kids to a show! Check out my pics and vids! My husband and I went to see Kem & Leela James last night, July 14, 2024, and both artists were amazing!!!!!!! The venue is nice and we great seats!! That being said, the event staff were not helpful or accommodating! We drove more than 40 mins from our home in Newton County, GA to the Amphitheater located in Henry County, GA. I needed to use the restroom prior to the start of the event, we arrived at 6pm and the event did not start until 8pm. The weather outside was extremely hot 105 degrees in the sun, the theater is open. We walked up to the check -in points and asked if there was a restroom available and we were told the only one available was inside the theater and once we entered, we would not be allowed re-entry. I could not believe that we were expected to surrender our tickets to use the restrooms and wait another two hours in the blazing sun for the concert to start! The city of Stockbridge, GA needs to do better!! How do you not accommodate paying customers?! The only person trying to help was a Police Officer who suggested we ask one of the event staff, which we did, and they flat out turned us away unless we gave them a ticket to enter! We had to drive to a nearby dollar tree to find a public restroom. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen! People who are disabled or have medical issues should not be subjected to this lack of compassion. I wasn't trying to steal or enter illegally, my husband offered to wait outside for me if one of the ladies had offered to escort me to the restroom, but that never happened! We have already purchased tickets to see Babyface & Avery Sunshine in August, and I am seriously considering selling the tickets due to this issue! read more

Nice venue with an assortment of great artists performing. You can bring your own cooler, drinks, and food as well. Just be prepared to go through a security check. The venue sells alcohol and I believe there was food for sale as well. Also, I would suggest getting pre-paid parking online prior to your event, as the venue has limited parking available onsite. Not a fan. The parking situation was a nightmare. Different lots charging different rates. Try to get there early so you can parking the designated lot in the Amphitheatre. They do not allow bottles which is fine but this should have been written on the tickets. Many patrons had to get out of line and run back to their cars . Perfect combination of live music real singing dancing and laughter at an intimate venue just 15 minutes from home! This was our first time there but it will not be our last! My first visit and I enjoyed En Vogue and Patti LaBelle. The only complaint I have is a group of people started a third line after arriving late due to rain and security allowed it after we stood in line in rain and some of them were able to get in before us because they just wanted to get people in so the show could get started. Not our issue! Better logistics due to rain delays is needed. I would visit again! Great to have events on the Southside! read more
