I asked about extra services and was told that since it was going to be such a busy weekend that he wouldn't need anything, and she talked me out of the extras. When I picked him up, I was shocked at how badly he smelled of urine. There is no doubt that they just left him to lay in his own urine the whole time I was gone. The smell was so bad that I had to drive home with the windows down and then took him straight into the shower when we arrived. I don't know if he got any attention or if he was actually let out at all. The urine smell suggests that he wasn't. They could have done so much better. I would not recommend that anyone leave their pets here.

Pete and Karen are old school (older) and do not use computers etc. Everything is done pen and paper. They are the most honest people I have met and the love their job. Pete is a talker but he would give you the shirt off his back and he LOVES LOVES LOVES animals. We have 3 King Charles and they absolutely love going their. Pete and Karen also groom our dogs and they are amazing with the care they give them as one of ours is very special needs and they take their time with him I would leave my pets there without question!!

we adopted from Ruff Start back in October. from the get go, communication was great with Ruff…read moreStart and with our dog's foster. we had some logistical issues (planned trip) and were able to work with them to accommodate us. there was an issue with getting her rabies tag and vax certificate, but that was on the vet (they forgot to send it). one of the post adoption people at Ruff Start did all the leg work and we had the tag/certificate with a few days. i'd definitely adopt from them again and encourage you to look at their available animals list if you are thinking of adding a furry member to your household! one thing to note: they do not keep animals at their facility. all dogs are fostered.

Couldn't think of a better way to spend a few hours on a Christmas Day. Scheduling our visit was a breeze and the drive to the place is easy and just one hour away from Minneapolis. From the very first moment you can tell Jack and his brother are very passionate about Siberian huskies and related topics and have lots of cool stories from their lives with these beautiful dogs. There are about 15 gorgeous huskies on their land. Even though there wasn't a ton of snow in December, they did everything possible to make sure we were having a great time with the dogs. We would definitely recommend this place and it's perfect for groups, families, couples, and everyone who likes outdoorsy adventures and isn't afraid of cold weather :)

They took us for one short loop and thats it. We drove over an hour to ride on a sled pulled by dogs who seemed exhausted. The trail was super slushy. We had reservations so they knew customers were coming. If your dogs cant pull through mushy snow then groom your trails. The dogs stopped multiple times. It was bizarre. The slow stop and go ride was only about 7 minutes. Umm really? Subpar experience for sure.

A few days later we got approved, and we told that they were waiting to hear back from the foster for more information about her and to schedule a time to meet. We were very excited to meet her and have a new addition to our family. We didn't hear anything for a week and then she was removed from the website. I had to reach out and ask what was going on as there was no communication. Turns out that AFTER we were told we could adopt her, the foster decided to keep her. While I'm glad the she found her forever home, it was very heartbreaking, such a letdown and a giant waste of time. This experience definitely rubbed me the wrong way.
