The service here is horrible - often you wait forever for the front desk staff to even recognize you. Getting an emergency visit is IMPOSSIBLE - even though they advertise "during business day we can handle most emergencies"....this is absolutely NOT TRUE. If you are 5 min late for an appointment they refuse to see you - however, when you show up 5 min early - you are not seen for at least an hour after your appointment. I really believe this vet clinic feels you should be grateful for the subpar service they provide as there are not a lot of other options in the area. read more

East Central was by far the worst vet clinic I have ever experienced. We had a dog who was reactive because he was very scared of going to the vet. The doctor at East Central wouldn't give my dog vaccines, even with my dog muzzled because he was afraid of my dog! We tried 3 different appointments (my son even went to a visit and held my dog while he was muzzled so it was easier for the vet) and the doctor was "too scared" to give my dog a shot at all 3 appts. We ended up taking our dog elsewhere for his vaccines and she got them done in a matter of minutes. Even when my dog was a puppy at his first visit at roughly 8 weeks old, the vet was scared of him. He told us he's more of a cat person! I understand that reactive dogs can be intimidating however, don't be a vet if you're afraid of animals! It was absolutely ridiculous. When we had to put our dog down, ECV was pretty cold about the entire situation, and it took over a month to get our pets ashes back!! I had to call them several times to follow up and get updated because ECV staff did not communicate. The entire experience with ECV was nothing but negative. I wouldn't bring my pets there if I was paid to do so. read more

I hadn't taken my cats there for years, as they are strictly indoor pets with no issues. I recently acquired my daughter's senior dog and called to make an appointment, only to find out they had "deactivated " me and would not reactivate me. Nowhere in their policies do they mention deactivation without notice after a certain period of time. I am extremely disappointed. The three stars are for quality of care only. read more

We've been taking our animals here for 5 years. Tonight we had an appointment to get our dog his annual checkup. The appointment was for 7:20. I was 11 minutes late(we thought it was 7:40. Our mistake). When I got there the receptionist was doing something on the computer so I waited. When I told her i was there for the appointment she excused herself and went in the back. She came out after a couple of minutes and said they have a 10 minute late policy. I said I was only 11 minutes late and she said technically you were 12 minutes late. They would not take my dog in. The parking lot was empty!! I would not recommend this place to anyone. I have always thought they were overpriced anyway. read more

In the past, my rabbit has been treated for an eye ulcer, a urinary tract infection, and a spay surgery. Doctor Poost is VERY knowledgeable and comfortable with rabbits, and I would recommend her and her staff to anyone who needs rabbit or other animal care. Absolutely best vet clinic I have found in MN. Dr. Olson is so intelligent and caring. She referred us to the U of M vet emergency and they told us exactly what she thought my dog had (prostate cancer). She even followed up with us throughout this ordeal and reassured us that we made the best decision for our dog jack (although we made the choice at the emergency). This is an excellent veterinary clinic. They are puppy- and breeder-friendly. They can usually get you in for timely appointments, and if you have something urgent they will drop everything to accommodate you. At the same time, I have never had to spend more than five minutes in the waiting room. They go above and beyond, offering services that many places do not. I am fortunate to have such a well-equipped veterinary clinic so far from the cities. Except for the U, I won't go anywhere else, and recommend it to friends and new puppy owners in the area. read more

Wasn't concerned about helping my dog as it was 3 hours from closing and they didn't have time to look at him and at least give him pain meds for a protruding eyeball so I could drive to the nearest emergency vet. When I asked why they couldn't at least give him pain meds, they asked me if I couldn't afford the emergency vet clinic and if that's why I was demanding at just pain meds. Money had nothing to do with it, I was standing in their office with a dog in much pain. Very rude, disrespectful, judgemental and definitely didn't have my dogs best interest at heart. Money shouldn't have even been brought up while standing at their front desk with my dog crying in pain. read more

They were very helpful and kind when taking care of our Yorkie there. She was unfortunately euthanasized there, and they were very nice about it. The only down side was they were unable to help with my pet rabbit, as I do not think they specialize in small animals. read more

ECV is awesome! I can't say enough good things about the staff and clinicians. They have always been able to help us no matter what the issue and I find their staff extremely caring. You can tell they all really love what they do. I especially appreciate Dr. Byers getting back to us so quickly and being willing to help us over the phone. They are the BEST!!! read more
