I arrived prior to check-in with the intent to check my bags and explore the city. They informed me that they we working on the room and it would be ready in about 20 minutes. They called me after about 20 minutes and escorted me up to my room and gave me a room overview. I was also provided with a check-in gift, a green ceramic pinecone.
This happened to be New Years Eve and we were invited to the rooftop to view the fireworks and were provided with complimentary champagne. The firework show was amazing!
The property is considered an upscale property and has both a restaurant and a bar. The Spanish Steps and Piazza Spagna is a 10 minute walk; the Trevi Fountain is about a 15 minute walk; and the Pantheon is about a 20 minute walk.
The room is small but the bathroom is one of the nicest hotel bathrooms that I've seen with marble floors and walls with the floors using the herringbone design. The only issue is that the shower door doesn't have a handle on the inside to be able to close the door so water escapes into the bathroom.
The room climate control worked good and most of the lights worked but there was a burned out bulb directly above the bar area. The room is dimly lit and could use more light.
I ate at the restaurant for breakfast twice and for dinner once. The restaurant serves good food. The staff here is wonderful in all aspects, front desk, restaurant, concierge and bell staff.
One issue that I had is that I was billed a second time after check-out. After inquiring about this, I was told the room was missing two items. After receiving the description of these items, we had never seen these in the room at any point. I suspect that they may not have inventoried while preparing our room after arrival. They ended up removing the charges but I would encourage you to photograph above and below the bar to to counter any of these potential issues. Four stars! read more
