If you want absolute quiet and a nice place to relax, this park might just be for you…read more While you won't find sandy beaches and a roped off swim area, you will find: -Quiet places to set up day camp with LOTS of space between you and others -A very quiet lake (it gets a bit more noisy on weekends, but still nothing compared to Lake Belton. The "beach" is made up of large white limestone rocks which can make it tricky to set up for the day, but this is what keeps most other people out. :) Bring your own shade as there are NO large trees or shaded picnic areas. A beach umbrella can be set up near the water and a pop-up shade tent can be set up-at a level picnic table. There is a small, brick-sided restroom house on the premises. The best part about this park? IT'S FREE! There is no fee for using the lake area or the boat ramp. But, shhhhh! Don't tell everyone. :)

There are pavilions available and plenty of areas to sit down. The parking are was really good. There are several jungle gyms for the kiddos. I do hope this issue is addressed as several men came out of the bathrooms with sheets and backpacks and the aroma of marijuana all through the park was overwhelming.

Only thing that was kinda worth it was this gray cat that was kinda cute who followed us around wanting to play and be scratched until he decided to not play anymore and bit my daughters hand lol Anyways these are 3 of the nicer sculptures. It is also dog friendly. Pretty much dirt trails, so after rains, it can get muddy, but we are in Texas, so that only happens occasionally. You can get several miles in on the various trails. Others are friendly and willing to point you in the right direction. I've been here a couple of times now and enjoyed both times. I do recommend hiking with someone else in case of emergencies. You never know when you might come across a snake, so be safe!

The atmosphere is peaceful and serene. There is something about walking through nature while deer frolic along side you.... Go with a friend, go with a pet, or go alone, either way it's a great place to get fresh air, exercise and mental clarity.

The outdoor space consists of a baseball field, plenty of parking spots, activities for the chilens to play, grass, and trees. Nothing more, nothing less. I had to create my own path of a trail by scaling up and down the parking lot. Park maintenance does a good job of keeping the place clean. They are out every morning picking up trash and debris. The park is sandwiched between a house on the right and mobile homes on the left. Don't expect too much from this park. Very basic and minimalist if that's your thing. If you are looking for more, Killeen or Georgetown has parks with walking trails.

It's a historical area that also has a butterfly garden with various flowers. There were countless monarch butterflies here on our visit. The park is pretty small and will take maybe 20 minutes to look at but it's nice to see a part of history. Take the extra time to go to the historical society nearby.

There are numerous signs and plaques describing the former school and the ruins are picturesque. It's worth the 10 to 20 minutes to walk around if you're nearby.
