It was not an emergency call. We had called another company for a seemingly different issue and left them the same message. When MCE called around 7:30/8 am on Monday, they asked if we could pay them that day. Hubby said yes and they showed up not long after that. The guy was here for maybe 20 minutes. He checked a plug and said it was loose. Did NOT even fix it. Checked another plug, said it was ok. Checked our breaker box, said it was fine and then LEFT. He didn't even have my hubby sign anything regarding the "work" he'd done. Not long later, we got a bill for $217.18!!!! $175 of it was for LABOR?!?!? The words RIP OFF totally suit our experience. I called them to find out what the "service" guy was charging us for. MCE was not clear about anything other than the mileage. They reduced the bill to $162.50 ... still a RIP OFF, but I was done dealing with them and decided to be a crusader for good and warn other unsuspecting families away from these crooks.

As soon as we did that, all the outlets on the entire backside of the house went dead. We tried going through the electrical panel, flipping switches on and off, but really didn't know what we were doing. Nothing worked. I called around to 4 different electricians and they were either unavailable or couldn't fit us in until mid-next week. I stumbled upon Tommy Gunn Electric and rang them up. Although he couldn't schedule us in until August, Tommy tried to help on the phone anyway.
