After the hailstorm a month or so ago, I joined the crowd of people trying to get damaged roofs replaced. Hannah was my contact person and she helped me negotiate the world of insurance and roofing from beginning to end. She was always available and responsive to texting. She made many visits to my home to follow up on various details, which is all the more impressive at a time when it seems that everyone in B/CS had hail damage to their roofs. Hannah's knowledge is extensive, and there was no job she wouldn't tackle: climbing all over my roof, checking the stifling hot attic in 100-degree heat, and wearing a face mask during the pandemic. I am incredibly grateful for her taking the lead in negotiating with my insurance company and providing the proof to convince them that my gutters & downspouts were also damaged and should be replaced. She didn't hesitate to return a second time to take more pictures at their request. The day scheduled to replace the roof went so smoothly and quickly it was unbelievable! I returned from an early morning walk to find two trucks already parked on the street at 6:30am. There was a big and clearly very experienced crew who were finished by 11:00am. They did a thorough job of clean-up, including checking for dropped nails and hauling off an old satellite dish they removed, as well as all other trash. Hannah followed up with another nail check and thorough inspection of the entire roof and attic (solar vents were installed). I had to remind them to install the guard I paid for, but fine. The gutters match exactly the color of my exterior walls, and Houser Roofing provided good advice. So far, so good. The vent installation went fine, except they had to come back to install the duct correctly (the first installation was a bit of a fire hazard). But fine, they were graceful about it. The big disaster has been fixing a roof leak. The salesman came up with wild theories about the source. all wrong. It cost me thousands of dollars, with zero results. They came several times, and the last time, they said it was a plumbing issue. A plumber came and disagreed. So this leak has cost me a small fortune over 3-4 years. Finally, I called a local roof company. They found the source of the leak in 5 minutes. I don't want to be too harsh here. Roofing is not an exact science. I talked to the owner, and I don't feel he was there to scam me. It's more incompetence than malfaisance. I seem to be the only one with this experience.
