    Full size cozy bed.

This beautiful piece of land jutting out into the Eastern Bay was my wife's and my home for four days in late August. For my job I had some online training to complete and wanted to get away from the NoVA hustle and bustle to accomplish it. All I was looking for was a balcony overlooking the water and decent WiFI. My wife was interested in interesting landscapes to paint while I was learning. The Inn met all the requirements. Located five miles outside of St Michael's, it seemed a world apart from home despite being just a little more than a two hour drive away. Our room was on the second floor of their newer building, Kemp House, with a view of Kent Island and the main bay not too much farther in the distance. The big ships don't come by the Inn proper but are easily visible going by in the distance. Our room was well equipped with plenty of seating, a desk, iron and board, comfy bed and seating on the balcony. The bed was maybe a full size that we coined the cuddle bed. The WiFi was sketchy but they offered us a hot spot to take to our room which worked great. The rooms don't have a TV which we weren't sure of at first but found enjoyable towards the end of our stay. The property itself affords water views on almost three sides. There is a signed nature walk around the perimeter of the property almost a mile in length. We took morning walks every day before breakfast and saw many osprey flying around often with a fish dangling below for a meal. They have a few sheep in the field and we saw a couple turtles as well. Breakfast is served in the main house and typically consist of a fruit bowl, a casserole dish of French toast, waffles or cinnamon buns and a cooked egg dish. The omelets our first morning were a favorite but they also served an egg pizza and some baked egg dish in a ramekin. Grits/oatmeal and coffee/OJ rounded out the selections. Plenty of inside or outside seating was available. We spent most of our time on property but did venture to nearby St Michael's and Tilghman Island both short drives away. We enjoyed our visit very much and talked about returning in cooler weather to enjoy their fire pits or perhaps main house fireplace.

While exploring St. Michael's and Tighlman Island areas, we wandered down the road to Wades Point Inn on the Bay just to check it out. It's off season so I'm not even sure they had guests staying there, but as we were walking around we were approached by Sherry who couldn't have been more kind. She offered to show us a room, give us a tour of the main house with dining area and library and chat with us about the history of the house. We learned that the house was original to a shipbuilder who built The Pride of Baltimore. What the sail? We had no idea. Being sailors from Baltimore, we found this new tidbit very interesting. The houses and grounds are stunningly beautiful, peaceful and boast of pine trees and water views. A mile long nature trail wraps around the lower part of the 100 acre farm. Sherry provided us a map and brochures and invited us to explore on our own. I was happy to get home and provide a five-star review for a place I haven't even stayed. This review is for the beautiful property and the amazing service and friendliness of Sherry.

Great location right at the bay. Very quite. Rooms were fairly large and nicely decorated. The breakfast food was good, but we missed the personal touch you can find in many B&Bs with the owners or staff. This buffet style did not work for us as well. But please note that the food itself was very good.

Went with my husband, and if you want relaxing and very quiet, this is the place. Hidden down a very long driveway, and then you arrive at the inn. It's an old house built in 1800's and has a ton of history. There's also a new section that was built in the 1990's, which is much more modern. We stayed in the old house, which I do not recommend if you have trouble walking up steps, or are elderly. The floors are so slanted I thought it was going to fall! The rooms are small and you can't lock the door to your bedroom (major fail!), but there's not that many guests so I guess you are all family? We took out the kayaks and used the bikes. This place has the BEST views in all of St Michael, worth the stay just for the view.

If you are looking for a most secluded place as an escape, you probably can't do better than Wades Point inn. It's located on a very private and quiet tip of the bay, about 5 miles from St Michaels. There are several buildings on the extensive grounds, including the older main building, and the newer Kemp guesthouse. We had a room in the Kemp this time with a private balcony. Room's quite nice, more updated although in terms of decor not that different from the main building ones. Aircon works well and is quiet, but not a lot of controls. There is wifi for Kemp but it's slow to the point of being useless. The balcony turned out to be the biggest disappointment (and worst value, considering the almost $300/night room rate). It's right next to the balcony of the next room, a bit offset but no barriers, so not private at all and extremely awkward if the guests in the other room are out there at the same time. It's worse than the common balconies in the main house which are bigger so there is actually more physical distance. There are a few stand alone private balconies in Kemp however so if you want guaranteed privacy be sure to book one of those rooms (or know for sure no one will be on the balcony next to you). Other than the balcony fiasco (and the rainy weather) we had a quiet and relaxed time here - the breakfast is top notch, delicious quiche and waffles (with real whipped cream), served in a most pleasant dining environment - lots of seating inside and out providing plenty of distancing even though there were quite a few other guests during our stay (the grounds and common areas here are the best feature). Due to the weather we didn't get a chance to use the free bikes or kayaks but it's nice to just sit by the water or the lawn or take strolls around - however it's quite buggy this summer and there were horseflies as well as mosquitos so bug spray is a must.

Best views and sunsets, delicious breakfast, fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding, hammocks, tons of lounge chairs by the water and under the trees for shade. Wine and champagne glasses available for bring your own spirits, fun games to play on site, private dock. Relaxing and peaceful. A much needed retreat. Thank you.

If you want a beautiful B & B with million dollar views this is the place. My wife discovered the Wades Point Inn about 8 years ago and took me there for my birthday and we have been back every year since. We book one of their cottages on the ground floor. They all have a small deck, perfect for my morning coffee. One step down and you're on a nicely manicured lawn with water on all three sides (it is on a point). Beautiful views of the Chesapeake left, right and center. The main house is beautiful and well kept. In the back, on the water is a very large sun room where you have breakfast. The breakfasts are not the gourmet experiences that we're used to. They have eggs, pastries, juices and coffee set out buffet style. They they serve you sausage or specially prepared eggs. It's all very nice but not the big production that gives B & B's half of their name. The property is about 15 minutes from the town of St. Michael where there are plenty of restaurants and shops, etc. It sits down a country lane which ends in their driveway. In total, it's about half a mile or more from the road. In addition to the Chesapeake, they have a walking path with a small pond. Frogs, turtles and deer abound. If you're looking for a quiet, restful stay I can highly recommend this property.

Perfect destination for a three sisters long week end getaway. Expansive lawns, chairs, chaise lounges and hammocks to relax in, mellow atmosphere, friendly staff, jaw-dropping water views and activities to keep you busy(kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, bikes, fishing poles/nets, floating lounge chairs, croquet, frisbees)...or, just do nothing but read, rest, walk (there is a nature trail that winds around the pond, farm area, family burial grounds, and along the water), watch shooting stars at night, dance and sing (we did ALL of the above), and enjoy a sumptuous and filling breakfast that exudes hospitality and attention to detail. We were in the farm house and loved it. This place is like paradise to me.

Stunning MDES property! Great place to stay to go off the grid. The room was clean and comfortable. We just wanted to lay around all day and night. We managed to walk the trail around the property and we weren't disappointed. We saw cranes and different birds rabbits and all sorts of waterfowl. The staff here are wonderful and accommodating. The only negative was for a bed and breakfast the breakfast part left MUCH to be desired. The food was not good at all. I've lived by the saying keep it simple stupid K.I.S.S. just make toast, bacon, scrambled eggs and sausage with OJ. We got Eggs Benedict with crab meat that was gross and the egg was a hockey puck covered in a gross sauce. We drank our coffee and left. With that being said please know that we would return and recommend this establishment. It's Sooo beautiful just be sure to bring a cooler for snacks and eat out for breakfast.

They may have a problem. That would be making us leave. This place is, without question, my favorite place. My gosh, there aren't enough adjectives to describe how wonderful this place is. The views, staff... Oh, for crying out loud, just stay here and enjoy this for yourself. I know I'll be back again (If they can ever get me to leave. Lol)

This property is beyond words, amazing. A full 180 degree view of the Chesapeake Bay. Not overly crowded, tbis multiple acre Bed & Breakfast is quiet, calming, and peaceful. The breakfast is all home made like biscuits sausage and gravy, French toast, fruit, grits, oatmeal, etc. the nature walk around the whole property is gorgeous. A lot of wild life like eagles, osprey, deer, rabbits, etc. Bonus: they have a cute beagle that roams the property named Rosie snd she's so sweet. Can't say enough about this charming bit of history.

Whenever I visit a place with multiple friends, I like to get a sense of their experience as well before I write my review. We all agreed Wades Point Inn deserves 5 stars!!! Groupon was running a great promotion for Wades Point Inn. My friends and I found it difficult to book any hotels/B&B's in or near St. Michael's that would allow three people to a room at a reasonable price. Wades Point Inn was extremely flexible and accommodating and allowed us to add an additional person for a $20 surcharge and to upgrade the room to an upstairs room with two queen beds for a $25 surcharge. We were very pleased with the overall price which ended up being $67/pp after taxes. What a steal! Wades Point Inn is conveniently located 7 miles from St. Michaels in a serene and peaceful location, situated on the water with beautiful scenery. We arrived on an overcast Sunday and had the entire grounds to ourselves for the most part. We ran into one couple, but other than that, the hotel was deserted, which contributed greatly to the serenity. I highly suggest booking this B&B on an off-day if you are looking forward to some quiet time. The grounds and room are extremely quaint and relaxing. In a way, I felt like it could be the backdrop for the Dirty Dancing movie. This is also a great place for kids to run around. There is tons of plush greenery. Wades Point Inn consists of a large house where check-in and breakfast took place, and then several other houses or garden style rooms. We stayed in room 423 which we loved. The room provided a respite for us with calming paint colors, bird pictures, and soft bedding (the Comphy brand sheets were to die for! As soon as I slipped under the covers, it was an "OMG-I-am-never-moving" moment). The room had a small kitchenette and dining table. We also had a balcony overlooking the water. The shower pressure was great in this room. Adding to the home- feeling was a gaggle of baby birds nesting above the door. At night-time when we first witnessed it, it gave us a scare because all we saw were some huge black wings hovering over the nest, but by morning it was the cutest site - 4 little baby birds chirping away... I did not expect much from the breakfast spread based on the other reviews, but ended up being pleasantly surprised. My friends look displeased at first but by the end we all thought breakfast was delicious. Breakfast consisted of eggs, bacon, grits, biscuits, fruit salad, granola, strawberry shortbread, coffee, orange juice etc. The granola was delicious. It was some sort of apple cinnamon concoction. We also thought the grits were the best we have ever had; fluffy like mashed potatoes with a cheesy taste. We sat on the screened in porch/patio and listened to and watched the rain during breakfast. In a close-by room there are books, magazines and board games if you want to relax after breakfast. My only complaint about Wades Point Inn is with regards to check-in and check-out. Don't expect much in the way of service. During check-in, the new staff person kept taking phone calls instead of checking me in. Even when I was next in line, she would take a new phone call in front of me instead of putting the call on hold. The phone calls were not short. Also there was no one available to check us out. I just left my key on the front desk. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. One night felt like a month away. So worth it! I also have to say I enjoyed reading the funny and priceless comments left by the owner in response to complaints on Trip Advisor. Sassy!

Before we left I planned a surprise sailing cruise for my fiancé and Aida left a sweet note about the gift from me and vouchers for complimentary gelato around the corner for us. She is so accommodating even when a few little things didn't go as planned for us. (Car trouble, weather... not her doing at all but she made them easier to manage.) She has great suggestions for what to do in St. Michael's. Breakfast was set up beautifully in the morning and cooked to order. Portions were huge if you wanted them. We are lighter eaters and once I told her that she gave us perfect smaller portions, but if you want a big breakfast you will not be disappointed here. The inn only has about eight rooms, and each is different. Ours was very comfortable with flowers, art and antiques wherever I looked. There's central air and the softest towels I think I've ever used. She lets you keep stuff in the fridge and even said we could use her laundry when my fiancé sat on something and messed up his pants. We had leftovers when we needed to leave and she gave us a styrofoam cooler to take with us... that will be used a lot this summer, I'm sure. The location is walking distance to most things in town, so while there is off street parking, we walked most of the time. You can't go wrong here with Aida's Victoriana Inn! Note, though, a lot of businesses and restaurants in town are operating at partial capacity or reduced hours, or are closed due to Covid 19. This has nothing to do with the Victoriana Inn, but it is worth calling ahead if you have specific things you want to do while in town to make sure they're available. We had to shift some dining plans but it was a last minute getaway and we didn't care all that much. It a worked out but if you have your heart set on something, check in advance to make sure you'll be able to do it.

The main building is cute, with a lovely sundry shop and the hotel's restaurant, Ruse. We stayed in the building across the street. The room was fine, albeit small. We noticed the vents were dirty and the filters needed cleaning, so even though everything else appeared clean, who knows what else they are missing. The bed and pillows were soft and comfortable. I appreciated the snacks and water. There was no sound proofing in the building, as I could hear doors slamming and conversations all night. And, a staff member walked into our room as we were getting settled. I definitely used my door jammer/alarm that night, because that was not good. The door didn't have an internal latch, peep hole, or do not disturb sign. However, this building was only accessible by keycard, which was good. Breakfast is included. There are pastry, granola, and yogurt options, plus coffee (they use Ceremony) and juice. I loved the savory biscuit, but get there early for that. I'd return, though I'd book a better room class than standard king, and perhaps that would improve my experience. However, my partner would not return. I hope they act upon their areas of improvement.

The Log Canoe Inn gave us a historical perspective of where we are, with a great view too! If we are able to get in later this year, we will stay there again.

We loved our stay and even if the weather didn't hold up, our room was perfect. Especially loved…read morethe extra amenities such as cotton pads and Qtips of which I forgot to bring. Our first overnight visit to St. Michaels, a friend suggested this B&B for our stay. I sent email…read moreto inquire about reservations and got a call within an hour to talk through it and book. I suggest just calling vs trying to work it out over email...there's plenty to consider when renting here...which building, which room, etc. The website does a good job describing things but no substitute for talking with someone there who knows... Our Chesapeake Room was in the main building, second floor. This is an expansive room with romantic appeal. Street noise minimal, footsteps from the third floor not so much, it is what it is, didn't bother us. Large flat screen TV, jacuzzi tub (if that is your thing) and a shower w/o curtain, doors or wall, inside the jacuzzi. Keurig coffee machine worked well. Bed was comfy. Situated in the heart of the business district and just a couple of minutes walk to the harbor. We ate and drank on the water, Foxy's Harbor Grille, walked over to the Harbor Inn for a drink then finished at Ava's back on Talbot St. Morning breakfast was delicious. I had the sausage benny. The breakfast room was not open to the public and it is small. The Inn schedules your breakfast visit for this reason and I can imagine it might get crazy if it is open to the public at the same time. I don't how know how this is managed but it did not affect us. All in all a great visit. Just be reminded that the Inn has multiple buildings and room options. Do some research and then talk to them to sort out your preferences and expectations.

Was not worth the money spent. Low budget room. Breakfast was good but guest room was not…read morecomfortable at all.

My wife and I were looking for a weekend getaway in St. Michaels and we ended up picking this…read morebeautiful B&B, which is within walking distance of downtown St. Michaels. The owner, Janet, was very helpful both before us picking this B&B and during our entire stay. Our stay was from Fri-Sun in the middle of winter and we wound up being the only guests in the house that weekend, which was nice for us. Upon arrival, Janet takes you into the beautifully decorated parlor room where you fill out forms for when and what you want for breakfast each morning. She had a different menu for each day of our stay. She then gave us a tour of the home while taking us to our room, the Harrison room, which was located on the 2nd floor. There are only three guest rooms, two of which are located at the 2nd floor and the other on the 3rd floor. Janet has done a wonderful job of decorating this very old home and we enjoyed our stay in the lovely and comfortable Harrison room. The room is equipped with a queen sized bed, a sitting area, fireplace, HDTV, coffee maker, and a private bathroom. The wood burning fireplace was all set, so all we had to do was light it. Being the middle of winter, we lit the fire each night. The bathroom sink is small, but there is a built-in open medicine cabinet where you can store your toiletry items. Close the bathroom door and flip on the heater, and the bathroom will be nice and toasty for yourself! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed each of our breakfasts. Both days, we started with fresh fruit, which came with a little scoop of raspberry sherbet. Our first breakfast consisted of french toast with sausage on the side and on the second morning, we had waffles with bananas. You have your choice of coffee, teas, and juices. She also has an assortment of DaVinci syrups to add to your coffee if you like. Breakfast was always ready at the time we specified each morning, and we got to enjoy our breakfast while sitting next to a roaring fire. The dining room consists of one round table, so you would be potentially eating with others if other guests picked a breakfast time the same or close to what you picked. Free WiFi is provided, but I found it to be slow much of the time. I think the issue had to do with where the access point is located. I had a fairly weak WiFi signal from the room on the second floor, but things improved somewhat when I sat in the parlor room. Ultimately it wasn't a real big deal for me as my device had a cellular signal and I wound up using that most of the time. The B&B is located just off a side street in downtown St. Michaels and we simply walked into town to go shopping. You are also very close to the Maritime Museum. Only street parking is available around the house. Being the dead of winter, we had no difficulty parking. I would say watch out for the no parking signs as I accidentally wound up illegally parking the first night. Fortunately a neighbor told me before a cop discovered it! This B&B accepts cash or check only and you do have to pay 50% at the time of reservation. I would have preferred that credit cards were accepted. In summary, Dr. Dodson house provided my wife and I and very relaxing weekend getaway with delicious breakfasts, and this is exactly what we were looking for. If we ever find ourselves back in St. Michaels, we will definitely look to see if there is availability at Dr. Dodson's house!!

Janet was most accommodating and runs a top notch operation. The rooms were clean, well decorated, and comfortable. Despite being a historic home, the Dr. Dodson House has all the modern conveniences one would expect (free WiFi, central air, flat screen TV with plenty of channels, modern bathroom). The breakfasts were a particular highlight and the perfect way to fuel up for a day of exploring St. Michaels. Would definitely return in the future.
