Hadn't be to the WH in months. My chicken and eggs were perfectly cooked as ordered. Sweet Tee was extra sweet. Staff was great. There wasn't any drama going on and I ate and went home to crash. All in all it was a routine WH RUN This is three days later and this visit was awful. Different cook who sneezed, wiped her nose, adjusted her hair and was going to proceed to cook?! Oh nooo. I watched a budding romance from a male customer and a server with amusement until he played heavy metal music on the jukebox. In addition the staff were having petty conversations in between throwing shade at each other. That means it was an uncomfortable situation to try and ignore. Waffle was good but everything else was crap. Grits were lumpy and cold. Butter just sat there and didn't melt. I asked for soft scrambled eggs and got semi cooked ones. Chicken was good but then as I was wrapping up a sandwich for my dogs I find hair on my toast. If I see this crew again I will promptly turn around and leave. I'm hoping I get home before throwing up even though I only ate 1/4 or less of the meal. read more

Was not busy when we walked in, no clean tables.... No wait staff actually working.... Tables needed cleaning... we did get a table, by stand there waiting....... The person they have busing tables makes more of a mess than cleans the tables. I ordered 2 eggs, bacon, grilled Texas toast and light hash browns. Everything was fine except for my bacon .... The service was horrible. We sat for at least 10 min without being acknowledged. When we finally waved down a server she seemed annoyed at having to wait on us. After taking our order our drinks were never refilled. They brought out part of our order & said my waffle would be right out. It never came. I said nevermind the waffle & heard the cook say it "got too dark so she threw it away" - why wouldn't you make another one? I don't expect Michelin Star service at Waffle House, but I also don't want the servers to be pissed off that I'm there. read more

Strange situation where I came in overnight for a bite and was barely noticed but my gosh it's not even that full. Either the cook ain't paying attention or the grill needs cleaning but I'm not sure how some of my food is this dark!!! I'm getting frustrated with the customer service and the inconsistent staff stuff. New manager seems to be doing well and the customers notice. We're wanting workers that aren't going to smart off on us. I asked the lady to please give me a coffee refill and she snatched the cup and mumbled something under her breathe. She brings back the coffee and grabs my food and can't even make eye contact or conversation without complaining. Food preparation needs help and whoever that greeter is, the slender Caucasian female is not doing a good job at all.

Alice and a darker complexion lady was there this morning. For some reason neither of them seemed like they really want to be there I had to be to work and was hoping to get something quick. Alice is serving me and my buddy. How slow can someone move and some of the food is cold but didn't complain but I noticed that. The workers seem to not understand what it means to work especially since customers are actually paying for the service. Really getting tired of poor customer service and it doesn't make sense to speak to the supervisor because that guy just doesn't seem to care. One of me and my husbands favorite places to eat breakfast food any time of the day! My go to meal is always the All star special, with a pecan and brown sugar waffle!!! So delicious!! While visiting Alabama I quickly realized that Waffle House is a southern staple. There wasn't a major street you turned down that didn't have a WH glistening with all its delicious might. And let me tell you, it was surely worth a visit. Service is glorious here! The waitresses serve you from behind a large counter that spreads across all booths. Our waitress was plenty friendly and was even economical suggesting ways we could take advantage of the many specials while still getting everything our little heart desired. I settle upon a waffle, some eggs and hash browns. This place is big on the pork so they didn't have chicken sausage but I was full off what I ordered. The waffle, possibly the best part of the meal was super buttery, thin enough to infuse wonderfully with the syrup without getting too soggy, and of course more than enough to devour. You can order the waffle with all types of options, pecans/strawberries etc., but the plain Jane waffle was yummy enough without all the extras. Hash browns can be ordered the same way with a variety of toppings but I choose to get those as is and they were amazing, nice level of salt and crispiness! You can't really mess up eggs and WH didn't disappoint! Above all else the food is super affordable. Certainly a must try if you are visiting and a great place to take tourist. There were quite a bit of patrons so I am sure it's fairly popular for the locals. read more

Pros: Its Waffle House. Decent drunk people food. Our waitress was awesome and very professional and accommodating. The booths are bigger than most and there is tons of space to sit at the counter and very clean. Strong coffee with hairy legs. Cons: There were tons of employees standing around doing nothing other than expressing common teen angst. The ones were working were working very hard. Most were taking up counter space eating and hooping and yelling where even our waitress had to tap them on the shoulder to reel them in. I ordered Steak and Eggs where the eggs sat on the grill long and came out in a solid lump and the steak was cold and raw in the middle and had to be sent back. When our waitress brought it back she did make sure it was edible this time. Conclusion: Be drunk first. It will help. Otherwise, just get the coffee and sit in the back. read more

Clean...staff was friendly...though one woman had some BIG hair and didn't have on a hairnet... Irritated me but at least she was NICE. Went a long way. You really need to think about who you allow to represent your brand. The manager who was on duty April 2nd 2022 late night was absolutely horrible. He actually threatened to call the cops on us for trespassing yeah trespassing for sitting inside waiting on our order. So apparently he had an issue with the waitress about how she was calling orders and starts fussing at her he proceeds to go outside for an extended period of time with his slides and socks on comes back saying we have to get out and wait outside for our food after all ready being there for over 20 mins.. We are like why we have been sitting here the whole time and our food was on the grill almost ready so he calls the cops saying we are trespassing.. Never in my life have I been treated so disrespectfully by an establishment. How disgusting he was and came back didn't wash his hands but ready to call cops you should be ashamed !! This location for Waffle House in Hueytown is the worst place to eat in Alabama. The manager doesn't think about the whole. Cause the music is overwhelming. Music in eating establishments should be background music. The only reason I ever come here is because my husband likes there breakfast menu. Mostly I would insest on Cracker Barrel, Jack's or McDonald's. Would eat here more often if not for these reasons given. read more

Just plan "Horrible" 1. At 1:30am I tried calling to place a pickup order, after about 10 attempts and no one answering I decided to go on and order their. 2. I get there at 2:00am restaurant and it's no even half full. I stood up at the bar for 35 min before my order was even taken. 3. After my order was taken I sat and waited another 40 minutes, stood up to see what was the hold up to find out that they hadn't even begun to prepare my order. I went here because I have been craving a steak for some weeks now. When I got here it was only the cook and the cashier. The cashier was nice and very polite, very humble and sweet but the cook was rude as hell!!! I order two t- bones and hash browns smothered, covered, and chunked. The t- bones were fine but my hash browns weren't as I ordered. So I told the cashier about it and she gave it back to the cook and said they were suppose tot be smothered, covered and chunked, he lets out a huge sign! Yesterday, my coworker/friend & I decided to have lunch here since I was craving an omelet. BIG mistake! After entering the restaurant we immediately noticed that there were no empty tables & the ones that were hadn't been cleaned. It appeared that there were at least 6 or more people on staff just standing around. After about 2-3 minutes, an employee finally yelled "oh, y'all can just have a seat where you want". My friend & I looked at one another confused & scanned the restaurant once more before sitting at a booth covered with dirty dishes. Moments later a seemingly overworked waitress came over apologetically cleaning our table. She was very nice & our food was decent but I can't get over how unprofessional her colleagues were. There were 3 people standing around laughing out loud, hugging each other & being silly at the grill while our waitress tried to address what seemed to be every customer in the restaurant. The other 3 just stood around whispering & eyeballing us all. Someone should've been helping the lone waitress especially since nobody else was doing anything. Teamwork makes the dream work. They could all use some more training in that area as well as customer service training. My suggestion to the manager would be to fire them all & keep our waitress. read more

We visit the Waffle House often, tonight was the worst. We were not acknowledged. Only one waitress was working the whole place which was full. She was very apologetic but was so far in the weeds She was struggling. The cook told her that she was trying to do everything but no one else was helping. One of the waffles was almost black but we didn't want to make our whole group wait when the waitress offered to send it back. I young waitress really tried. i love waffle house to pieces but tonight was not great at all. first, we had to wait to be seated (even though there were hardly anyone there) all because they were apparently too lazy to clean up after people who had left. they finally decided to clean somewhere off for us and then serve us. no one was friendly the whole time we were waited on. deja (our server) couldn't look more thrilled to be there (insert sarcasm). after people who showed up later than we did got their food we finally got our food, my order was 90% wrong. and my girlfriends eggs were poorly cooked. inedible. we basically paid for two whole sorry excuses for meals. they ought to wait until i get in contact with their management bc i am unHAPPY with my service today. i felt cheated, my girlfriend felt cheated, and it was a complete waste of my money. you'd think people who receive a paycheck for their job would at least try and do it right. i hope someone important sees this. btw don't come here on weeknights. that's when the sorry people's shifts are apparently. read more
