Waffle House is a regional breakfast all day diner stable in the south. I kept seeing them throughout my trip. The interior of each restaurant is pretty small with a diner area and a few booths that all sit against the open kitchen concept. The menu is simple and the staff is highly efficient wearing many hats and bearing many responsibilities. Respect! Definitely a no frills meal meant to be a quick and convenient stop or maybe a late night bite. My boyfriend had their All Star Special ($11) with 2 eggs scrambled, bacon, a waffle of your choosing, hashbrowns, and toast. They only have white bread, no alternative. I had a Coffee ($2.50) and their 2 Egg Breakfast and Bacon ($9) meal which I opted for sunny side up and hashbrowns and toast. While I was watching their production I was fairly impressed... until I watched too long. The chef at the egg station was cracking the eggs on the edge of a bowl, which basically causes shell to get into your eggs. It's better to crack eggs on a flat surface. And less impressed by the time the food got to us when my toast and bacon were burnt at some parts. That butter drenched over the eggs. Soooooo unhealthy. To make it worse, there was a BEETLE that crawled out of our pecan waffle. Yikes. We told our waitress and she made us a new one, but the new one was not as crispy and potentially undercooked. Bleh. Over it. I actually enjoy no frills meals but I don't think asking for my food to not be burnt or not have insects crawling out to be asking for too much. I see the potential in these types of chain and I enjoy the ambiance, but my personal experience leaves much to be desired. read more

Clueless server. Ordered a simple egg and bacon breakfast with hash browns. No hash browns, got grits, eggs was good, toast was good. I can't comment on the bacon since it never arrived. Sever acknowledged no bacon at the register, but no action was taken. Full price, no apologies, not even have a nice day. read more

So I used to love coming to this Waffle House! Sad to say I had my first bad experience and will no longer be coming here. So I go in and two seats were available but dirty, I sit to wait for them to wait to clean and have them tell me when to be seated. I wait about 10 minutes no one acknowledges me. So as I'm waiting a family comes in and the lady tells them they can sit in one of the seats and they'll be right over to clean before they sit, I look at the lady still no acknowledgement. Im from the west coast, so this was my first time ever eating at a waffle house. The food was fast and delicious! Very comparable to ihop except for the prices! Waffle house has so much food for around $7 each meal. Shoutout to our server Shelbi, she was super attentive and knowing it was our first time she gave us some recommendations on what to try. Walked in at 8:30 p.m. June 19,2919 The cook was scrubbing the floor ,he stopped to begin fixing my oder . He stepped over to the grill and immediately put on a pair of gloves I had to tell him to wash his hands before putting on the gloves. He stepped to a inaccessible hand sink sink and had to remove dirty containers before using the sink .poor hand washing ,misuse of gloves and a blocked hand sink are all major health code violations. Its waffle house, eat here, the food is great the staff is great. No wait and hot food.

Slow service. Ten minutes after sitting down some one came to offer coffee. Got it refilled ten minutes after I finished breakfast.
