I ordered for our group of five to make things easier on the server, but the experience was frustrating from start to finish. We were the only customers in the restaurant for most of our visit, yet the service was still incredibly disorganized. Our waitress messed up our order when first it writing down and then repeatedly came back to ask questions about items we had already ordered, including whether we wanted eggs on a BACON EGG CHEESESTEAK SANDWICH, which was confusing since it's part of the menu item itself. Things got even worse when our TEXAS BACON CHEESESTEAK MELT arrived without the bacon. When I pointed it out, she asked if we had wanted bacon and seemed very confused to as why. I had to explain that "BACON" is literally in the name of the sandwich and shown in the menu photo. She also forgot to bring us utensils, so we had to ask another employee for them. Unfortunately, no other staff member stepped in to help despite the repeated mistakes. Overall, the service was disorganized and disappointing, especially considering we were the only table there for most of our meal. It made for a very poor dining experience. read more

In all honesty, the food was outstanding. However, the service was mediocre at best and since I had plenty of time to look around while waiting for refills, etc. It is impossible to miss the filthy floors in the prep area. The caked on food around the prep and cooking area. The baked on grease and dried food caked around the edges of the cooking grill. Waffle House....shame shame shame! My waitress, Angela W, was great. She was polite and promptly took my order and served my food. The atmosphere was the worst ever. The bathrooms were smelly disgusting! The a/c hasn't worked in at least 3 years as best I can recall. The 2 fans placed around the restaurant do t suffice in nearly 100 degree weather. This business is in a high traffic locale. Why can't they replace the a/c?!?! No concern for customers let alone employees. The owner should be fined daily u til this is resolved. It's so sad to see businesses come into the city and take take take but not give anything back. At least consider your employees. read more

First trip to Mississippi and a friend told us we needed to eat a waffle house for an "authentic experience". We arrived in Vicksburg late after a long drive through the delta, so we decided to try this waffle house that is open 24 hours. We had a great experience. It's not the cleanest restaurants I have eaten at but the food was cheap and actually quite tasty. We were the only tourists in the place late at night, everyone else was a local and they all knew each other and the waitresses and the cook. They made us feel so welcome! Half the restaurant's table were roped off due to covid, but the waitress immediately wiped down a table for us when we walked in. The cook came over and recommended we try the hash browns scattered all the way. I had never heard of this dish. (If you are not from that area, hash browns scattered all the way are hash browns with gravy, onions, chili, tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms and cheese) Not healthy but delicious! We also had grits and chicken and sandwiches, and they were ok. Very friendly and quick service. Refilled our water glasses several times without us having to ask. Naturally lots of free parking. Remember the good ol' days when every restaurant had smoking and all the tables were dirty and the waitresses didn't say hello to you and there was a cricket in the ceiling and the food sucked? Go to this Waffle House and be brought back in time. The only reason four instead of five stars is my napkin dispenser had waffle batter on it. How this happened I have no idea. We were staying up the hill at the Best Western, after two weeks in the car I did not want to drive anymore and I would have eaten anywhere. I had those expectations. So it is the last day of Feb and their famous Walt's soup sold between Oct. - April is already out of season and there is no chicken for the waffles, I ordered a small salad and a bowl of cheese grits. I swear to you that my cheese grits were from that morning and they put a slice of Velveeta on top and did not even melt it. The salad was lettuce, tomato, and torn up Velveeta cheese; I have now had my Velveeta fill. To add insult to injury, the guy at the next table lights up a cigarette. Went here around 4pm on december 3rd. A african american, heavy build lady was my waitress. I asked the waitress for water and she just starred at me. It was really akward. Then i asked her to give me a minute so I can choose what to eat. she stood right next to the table and acted like I'm bothering her. After I ordered she went to the corner to hung around and chilled with her coworker. Only reason I tipped is because of the cook. He actually checked up on me and made sure everything is good. My friend and I went to this location at 10:00pm for a post high school football game meal. The waitress, a local country girl waited our table. She was friendly enough and wandered back into the kitchen. About 20 minutes later she arrived at the table and said she was "about to to put our order in". We both inquired as to why it had not already been turned in. She said, "the call in orders and the other waitresses got ahead of me". About 5 minutes later we heard our order turned in and about 5 to 10 min later we received our food. A 30-40 min wait to get our food. The food was Waffle House quality food which raised this from a 1 star rating. Next time I'll go to the WH on Washington St in Vicksburg where I have always had good experiences. I went to the Waffle House on North frontage Rd and experienced poor service and a nasty restaurant. Our waitress was very slow and acted like she was doing us a favor. The salt shakers were stopped up because of humidity, and the response we got was "they're all like that, the sugar is too". No "sorry about that" and no attempt to remedy the situation. There were four tables with dirty dishes and no one making any effort to clean them. When our food was ready, our waitress was nowhere to be found and another waitress brought it to us. Walked in and no one acknowledged that we existed. There was a table that was empty but had not been cleared and remained that way the entire time we were waiting to get a table. During that time another table was vacated and it was not cleared either. There were others waiting behind us and the people who were waiting when we arrived left a few minutes after we got there.
