Wafflehead is a cute local ice cream shop off the beaten path! Their freshly made waffle bowls are excellent. They go along well with the variety of ice cream flavors. Service is great and they have some other options like milkshakes, coffee, and tea too! We will be back.

Great ice cream in the area. Mint chocolate chip was delicious. The blue cookie and cream was a bit awkward with the color, but still good. Toppings are limited. Would have loved to see more variety with Kit Kat bars, snickers, small M and Ms, etc. Still okay with big M and Ms. Cute spot and decent price!

Service was quick, prices were great, & ambiance was so cute! Definitely a fun place to check out with friends or family, or even a date like my husband and I did. He got the bubble waffle which he thoroughly enjoyed and I got the bear head with scoops of ice cream - both were delicious but not too heavy either. They also have events, like movies, they host every month which we were invited to when we went. Looking forward to going again.

This establishment is very cute and well decorated. It is on the corner of Aloma Ave and N Magnolia Ave. There is parking right by the bldg and it is wheelchair accessible. There is high seating by the large windows looking toward the street and there is a table with 4 chairs for toddlers/small children. There is some good music playing. The young gentleman assisting me was not very friendly but he was very helpful. Their in home made waffles are crunchy and very tasty. I chose coconut ice cream. It was good but the coconut taste was way too subtle. There are a few different choices for cones but the ice cream flavor choices is a little limited. All in all it is a nice place to enjoy ice cream or coffee, listen to music and look out into the sunset.

This little gem of a coffee/ice cream shop is a blink & you'll miss it spot on Aloma. They make the waffle bubbles & heads to order. The ice cream is so flavorful and doesn't leave the aftertaste of artificial sweetener. Definitely worth a visit.

Waffle head is waffle good a beary cute!!!! We had to try the namesake of a waffle head soft cone with two scoops of ice cream and my older son wanted the standard waffle cone dipped in chocolate also with two scoops. There was not even ONE bite left by the time they said they were full. The ice cream is creamy and there are quite a few flavors to try. Also on the menu is bubble waffles and coffee. I will be stoping back by to try those. Limited seating inside and limited parking outside but I still see a successful Florida summer ahead for this little stop. Worth every penny.

Loved this place! First time coming and so glad we stopped in. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and shown a wonderful selection of ice cream flavors, coffee, and freshly made waffle cones or bubble waffles. We got mint chocolate chip and Cookie Monster in waffle cones. The cones we fresh and perfect . Ice cream was creamy and delicious. My Daughter got the bubble waffle with salted caramel and it was standout of the desserts! The waffle was warm and fluffy. I got a coffee and it was delicious. Indoor and outdoor seating in a clean and bright store. Fantastic addition to the area. So happy they opened and we can't wait to go back!

I have driven by this little shop a few times with the intention of stopping by when I had the time. That chance finally came and I brought my whole family. My mind was set on the bear head, the ice cream selection had the classic staples like chocolate, vanilla, etc. I opted to try the seasonal eggnog flavor and it was really good! My family tried the strawberry n'cream, coffee bean, pistachio, mint, chocolate and those were delicious as well. In my excitement I ate the bear and forgot to take a picture. A convenient reason to go back again. The waffle head was lightly sweet so it didn't overpower the ice cream but complimented it. We tried the waffle cone and bowls which were fresh not at all stale like some big chains. The customer service was stellar and friendly even with such a large group coming in. Finding out that it is a family owned small business was a nice surprise. I will definitely be back and highly recommend!

Cute idea and good product. They didnt have soft serve when we went. Flavors were very limited. It was so empty it felt almost abandoned. So ice cream was good, but I wouldnt make the drive out here again.

Amazing place to go with your siblings, kids, partners or yourself. The owner is extremely nice and caring when it comes to your order. I got the coconut cream ice cream and it was amazing it wasn't too coconutty but it still had a great taste, my sister got cookies and cream and she finished it extremely quick. We also got boba and the strawberry flavor was pretty similar to the nesquik which I really liked. The owner also has mini claw machine and it's pretty fair priced and wasn't like the rigged ones you typically see, so absolutely great environment. Overall for the price, kindness, flavor and ambiance I think it's an amazing place to go to.

So many yummy treats! All their waffle cones are fresh! It's family owned and the son was the one that helped us. He was very nice and polite! I can see this place becoming super trendy! They did a great job decorating it and making it super cute.

I have been a few times and haven't had a bad experience. It is a family run business for the most part that I can tell. Usually on visits I have been helped by a young guy that's pretty cool but on the last visit we got to me the dad. He was really fun and comfortable to talk with. He suggested I get the Espresso Milkshake (not on the normal menu but written on the board next to the door). It was a good shake and pretty rich. That is my one thing I would tell people would be careful if they can't do rich desserts or full on dairy. I like it but I know my tummy can't do it more than like once a week.

Priced as high as local hit ice cream shops that are significantly better quality. Wouldn't call this place original unfortunately

Craving the soft serve here and wanting to try the UBE…read more They offer samples of the custards if you are not sure which to get. I sampled the vanilla and ube. Both were delicious but the UBE stood out for me. This time it was not as packed and warm temp like it can be at times here. Ordered the Maiko Parfait in Ube : soft-serve with mochi balls, Japanese chestnut, adzuki red beans, sponge cake, corn flake, & agar jelly for $9ish. It was a delicious creamy not too sweet ube soft serve that had a delicious taste of ube. It was bright purple with the yummy-ness of this creamy ube flavor not the flavor im used to in filipino version ice creams. It had the mochi balls and chesnut - Corn flakes, Matcha sponge cake - Red beans, and jelly. I love this dessert. The interesting part of this soft serve - It was slow to melt! It was sturdy enough that when you take your time and enjoy it - It does not melt so fast unlike other soft serves. Would def come back again and get UBE!

Matcha Cafe Maiko is a specialty matcha café focused entirely around Japanese-style matcha desserts…read moreand drinks. We walked into a cute and welcoming space with a menu built around showcasing matcha in different forms rather than treating it as just another flavor option. The atmosphere is cozy and fits the theme well, though seating is limited and it can get crowded during busy times, making it better suited for a quick dessert stop or grabbing a drink to enjoy nearby rather than settling in for a long visit. The main reason to visit is the matcha soft serve and dessert selection. The matcha flavor is noticeably rich and earthy, with a stronger tea profile compared to many sweeter matcha desserts. The soft serve has a smooth, creamy texture and works especially well in combinations like matcha shaved ice, floats, or parfait-style creations. The matcha shaved ice stands out with layers of shaved ice, matcha soft serve, red bean, mochi, and Japanese chestnuts, creating a dessert that has different textures in every bite. The combination of the creamy soft serve with the chewy mochi and the slight bitterness of the matcha creates a balanced dessert that does not rely solely on sugar for flavor. The drink menu gives plenty of ways to experience matcha, from hot and iced matcha drinks to floats and specialty creations. Options like matcha with ube, matcha lattes with foam, and hojicha drinks add variety for anyone who wants something beyond traditional matcha. The café also offers coffee options, which makes it easier for groups with different preferences to find something they enjoy. The matcha lattes are well balanced, with the earthy notes of the tea coming through clearly without being masked by milk or sweetness. Beyond matcha, the menu includes other Japanese-inspired desserts like taiyaki, mochi-based items, and seasonal offerings. The combination of traditional flavors and playful presentations makes the café feel like a dessert destination rather than just a drink shop. The desserts are also visually appealing, with the kind of presentation that makes them worth taking a photo before digging in. The taiyaki are crisp on the outside and filled with a sweet red bean paste that contrasts nicely with the cold soft serve. Service is friendly and helps keep the experience smooth even when the café is busy. The staff are knowledgeable about the menu and make it easy to choose between the many matcha options, offering clear descriptions of the flavor profiles and texture differences between the soft serve, shaved ice, and latte options. Because the café has a strong focus on quality matcha and specialty desserts, it can get popular during peak hours, so visiting outside the busiest times may make it easier to find seating and take your time with the menu. Matcha Cafe Maiko is a great spot for anyone who enjoys matcha or wants to try Japanese-style matcha desserts. The combination of rich matcha flavor, creative menu options, and a cozy café atmosphere makes it stand out from typical dessert shops. It feels like a place worth visiting when you want a matcha experience that goes beyond a basic latte, offering a dessert that feels both authentic and indulgent without being overly sweet.
