This is not of course a place for an intimate night for two when you sit on a bench in close proximity to a group of strangers.

Bayee Village has been producing reliable, tasty Chinese food in Wimbledon for decades and there is a sister restaurant in Putney. The decor is great, from the 2 stone lions guarding the entrance to the large fish tank and Chinese lanterns inside. You are also always assured of a warm welcome and better service than in many Chinatown restaurants. The food is a mixture of Peking (north) and Szechuan (southwest) cuisine. The house speciality is seafood and if your budget can stretch, you won't be disappointed with the lobster and spring onion on a bed of crispy noodles, steamed whole sea bass with ginger and spring onion, kung po king prawns with sweet chilli sauce and garlic and soft shell crab with fresh chilli pepper and garlic salt. The other non seafood dishes are also good. A good solid local Chinese restaurant.

It was fresh, full of flavours and it even felt as though i was eating healthy food! I had a gorgeous aubergine dish that was gorgeous and their crispy duck was really tasty as well as their cashew nut dishes. We had some really nice wine here as well. The decor is quite strange, with a classic piano and aquarium in the restaurant but i guess it gave us something to look at while we waited...and we were waiting for quite a while...maybe this is a good sign as it made me think everything was being cooked freshly from scratch, otherwise they were just being really slow. The service of the waiters was a little on the slow side but luckily we weren't in a rush. The prices were all pretty reasonable as well. I will return if i'm in the area.

She had gone there with a friend and enjoyed it Parking in this area of Raynes Park can be tight but you can find something in the local residential streets. There is a funky delivery van outside the restaurant, which helps one to find it There's a bit of fun at the start of the meal when water is poured onto 2 small tablets, which grow into warm hand towels. Nice The food was all nice and I appreciated the variety in the menu. We had lotus root chips, deep fried oysters, miso black cod, otoro sashimi, Hashi special roll and miso soup. We finished the meal with red bean mochi and we received some complementary orange to end A nice neighbourhood Japanese restaurant but only 4 stars due to the price

Flavoursome miso soup, and the contents of the bento itself was well seasoned and beautifully presented. We also shared some exquisite tuna avocado sushi. Staff were patient and courteous (we took a while deciding what to order). It's not the cheapest sushi, but it's very popular with the locals, and with such delicious flavours served in a relaxed setting, I can see why. I can't wait to return and try a wider selection!
