[Pre-COVID post] 3.5/5 There are Wagamama's everywhere in London, so I had to try it. It's somewhere in between a fast food restaurant and a nice sit-down restaurant, but they do have people who seat you and take your order. Service was a little slow and it leans more towards the pricey side, but the interior and atmosphere are nice. I had trouble choosing what I wanted from their menu, but ultimately got their grilled duck donburi and pork belly buns, which were both delicious. read more

The service here is absolutely terrible. I came to eat here with my family and have a gluten allergy. I asked my server twice to speak to the manager since she's can't take my order. The manager never came to my table. Yet, she would look at me and talk to the server and continue on her way. I eventually had to walk over to the manager who was completely rude to me when I asked to speak with her. She couldn't figure out how to put my order in until she went and then offered me a gluten free menu. Just to order the exact same meal. Don't ever go here. My food then took well over 15 minutes AFTER my entire family had finished their food. read more

So, it's very slow and not great, but fairly reliably so. It's a reasonably fast meal, so good for a big group, but today's service was extra-special slow. The ramen is not worth it, but for a noodle dish you're alright. Basically, I go here with work peeps when we want in and out for 10 people in a little over an hour. If your hungry and want to play it safe Wagamama is always a safe bet. The dishes are big and tasty. Not the place to take someone out on a romantic date but for a quick lunch / dinner it's the perfect solution. Service is usually good and the food comes fast. This place is about a block of Camden High Street so it's not as busy as most of the places around the area. We visited it on a Saturday afternoon when Camden is packed but the restaurant was half empty! read more

I used to be such a huge fan of Wagamama but I'm over it. Each location is so loud and their re-vamped menu caters plenty to vegans but with little that is gluten-free. They don't even mark the gluten-free options anymore; you have to ask your server. Fine for a quick meal but not anything I'll go out of my way for anymore. read more

After walking around Camden High Street on a chilly, blustery afternoon, hot piping bowls of noodles were calling out our names. We skipped through all the food options in Camden Market (except for the chocolate churro) believing there might be better options outside so we held out. Not having much luck searching for a ramen place nearby we came across this Wagamama. We've seen quite a few Wagamamas throughout London so we decided to give it a shot. Upon entering my first impression was that it looked like a very large cafeteria where you order at counter. But as soon as we entered we were seated (restaurant was nearly empty) and our orders were taken shortly thereafter. My bowl of noodles was somewhat bland and really quite run of the mill. Noodles themselves didn't have that particular bite (almost al dente) that I love. Service however was the saving grace of our visit here. They were extremely attentive, friendly and quick. Not a horrible meal but I'm sorry I'm gonna have to say I wouldn't go out of my way for Wagamama. read more

I love going to Wagamama with a big group of friends sitting round the big benches chewing on some noodles. The branch in Camden is nice and open, with glass and purple walls and friendly wait staff. They have a great selection of rice and noodles, miso soup etc. Everything is super healthy and such good value for money. I especially like the chili cheesecake, nteresting combination. If you go to their website you can get some discount vouchers at certain times of the year like a two for one or a free drink with your meal. Wagamama has such a strong formula that it doesn't seem to matter which one you go to. However this was better than the average version. It's bright, light and airy. We went on a Wednesday lunchtime and it was very quiet. The service was very good - attentive until they realised that we were waiting for someone, then they completely left us alone until we asked them to come over. Wagamamas is ever dependable. Unless you're new to this fair city, you'll have been before. If you're like me, you'll have 2-3 favourite dishes that you know you can fall back on when not feeling adventurous. Normally it's No43, Amai Udon, for me. Yums! The seating is canteen style, so it's perfect for a group of you. If it's just the two of you, its the quick lunch or informal supper you need. The green tea is free and healthy and their specials are usually worth considering too. This review will suffice for all Wagamamas branches because they're mostly exactly the same! But I do like this Camden one, it's off the main road so the tourists don't usually find it. read more

A little bit too over priced for just a quick, simple Asian meal. Nothing wrong with the quality however, and their choices are relatively wide and the ingredients are fresh, but it's not the best I've had. I still can quite justify ordering one of their ramens however, as I associate that with packaged ramen noodles (which I do love) which I always used to associate with very simple snack food back in Asia. What they do do well is the fried ginger chicken udon with garlic, lemongrass and mange tout. Their rice dishes are also worth a try. read more

Well well well. Wagamama has had so much hype surrounding over the past few years that I, for a long time, resisted all that is was. It's like the Nobu of affordable Asian cuisine. Sure, it's OK, but it's a tad over-priced for the generic 'eat and get out' vibe that most of the restaurants tend to project. For the same price, you could go to a rather nice Asian restaurant with better service and a higher quality of food. Wagamama is a reliable restaurant, sure, predictable and tasty, but it's a bit too generic for my liking. Go if you're craving an Asian feed, but can't find (or be bothered finding) anything else close by. read more

I have to say that hot ramen on a freezing night is always good for the soul. However, Wagamama (perhaps being a chain and all) didn't quite meet my ramen standards. Honestly, I'd prefer Ajisen (which is also an international chain) and some of the local ramen shops out in Southern California. Nicely set back from the main drag of Camden High Street, this branch of Wagamamas is great for avoiding the greasy pizza slices and questionable Chinese food available elsewhere in the area, though if you want more choice the newly refurbished Stables Market is the place to go these days. I find Wagamamas one of the least offensive chains though, with its welcoming staff, efficient service and healthgiving food. One of their spicy coconut milk noodle soups was just the ticket for a sickly me the other night, even though I still haven't found a way of eating them decorously. I love Wagamama... from the first time I had it at Heathrow, to the second time in Camden. It is essentially pan-Asian fast food, but my god, they do it well. The service was good and the staff was friendly. The tables are cafeteria/shared style but there is considerable space between you and other parties to avoid feeling overcrowded. We always get the Lollipop Prawn Yukisaki - three skewers served with tasty prawns drizzled in chili and lime. I had the Pad Thai with chicken on this particular visit and was very satisfied. The food here is good, flavorful and filling. The servings are perfect for an individual, but you could easily get a few dishes and share. If you're interested in a quick but happy dining experience, this is a good place to start. read more

Loved the green tea and tropical juice we had on our arrival. However, we had luke warm gyoza, not very nice. This was followed by the chicken teriyaki donburi. Nothing special and too much sauce. My friend had the pork ramen which she didn't think was authentic at all. No flavour whatsoever and the noodle was way too over cooked. The coconut reika was the nicest thing on the menu. Very sweet though. No wonder you don't see any orientals in Wagamama. It is fusion food not attractive to Japanese eaters. read more

Went in for a spontaneous dinner, service was actually quite nice but i can't say the same for the food... Maybe I have higher standards for asian cuisine but the ramen and itame noodles had bizarre flavors- not in a good way. The dumplings were bland and boring as well. Although, I have to admit the fruit juice was really nice but overpriced just like everything else. Wouldn't come here again. read more

I understand what Wagamama is trying to do. I really do. And it's not that I'm (much of a ) Japanese food snob, I promise. Even without expecting authentic Japanese dishes, Wagamama fails to deliver anything positive for me to latch onto. The noodles in the ramen are oddly mushy, listless lumps. The katsu curry is tasteless and fatty. Even they gyoza isn't good. I never knew bad gyoza was possible... The staff is nice enough and the bathrooms were nice. Which is something, I suppose. I would recommend this place for large groups of people who need to meet in an easy to find restaurant. Or to people who have low expectations. read more

Great branch just off Camden High street where the service is always excellent. Both courteous and friendly. We eat here regularly but this evening was the first time we'd tried ordering to take out. The restaurant was quite busy and I had to wait 20 minutes past the specified collection time before our food was ready. However the staff kept me informed of the situation and I was offered a glass of water and a place to sit whilst waiting. Once our food arrived I was given a complimentary voucher for a free main course upon my next visit. In my opinion this was not necessary as the wait wasn't that long. Wagamama the food is always good that's why I keep coming back but my last trip the service wasn't great. We got our food before drinks and had to keep chasing staff and even for Bill. It was only 50% full so not sure what it would be like if full. The seating is useful benches where you share with other people - I am not a fan but accept that's how the company works/authentic feel?. It's a good place to go if you have a big group, but not necessarily with a date as you might end up sharing a bench with quite a few other people. The service is quick and they have an unique ordering system where the waiter takes your order using a PDA and write the dishes' numbers onto your table. I recommend their raw juice and chilli beef ramen. read more

Ok, I'm a creature of habit but Wagamama does a handful of menu items really well....For example, I always get the Firecracker meal in either chicken or prawn. Or their Warm Chicken Cashew salad and Nicoise tuna salad are great. The juices are delicious too. But the appetizers I find to be too small for what you pay for and I've had another salad that was anything but filling. So, if you stick to your favorites, Wagamama is a winner. But deviating may leave you disappointed with portion sizes. Service is always friendly, so that's good. A good option for a lunch! read more

wagamama is the alternative to all those who long to try japanese food but look wary to raw fish on a finger of stale rice. yes, there is way more than sushi when it comes to japanese stuff. the firts appealing thing of this place, and i reckon is a given of all the wagamama is the communal distribution. all the tables are long with benchs so you share your meal with other people. i mean, there's room to not let other stick their noses in your business, but still it gets a warm feeling that makes a difference. the menu focuses on noddles, either soupy or not, in huge portions. they taste just great. another point is the open kitchen, so you can entertain yourself looking at the chefs pullng their weight. the waiting staff is efficient and well-organized, friendly and helpful. they offer a great value for money. read more

There are many wagamamas all around London, but this one in Camden is recommended. I like it because it's in the middle of busy camden, so is a good stop off. They serve a variety of Japanese dishes, all served with vegetables, rice or noodles, and all very delicious. I recommend the chicken in bread crumbs. They also do lovely fresh soups, freshly squeezed juices, and the most amazing desserts including ginger, toffee cheesemake which actually melts in the mouth. There are several in the west end including covent garden, and others in fleet street, wigmore street, etc. The prices are normal, but they do vouchers, and deals for a cheaper deal for you and a friend! read more

I've been to a fair few Wagamamas around London, and while the menu doesn't vary between each, I've chosen to recommend this one particularly because of its handy location and the great staff. It's just off the main Camden High St, near to the station, so it's a great place to go before moving on to the bars and pubs in Camden. My friends and I often meet here for an early dinner after work - it's a quick meal so it doesn't take too much energy if you're tired from a busy day. The staff at this branch are great - the other day my friend suddenly fet really ill while we were eating (not from the food!) and the staff were really great at helping us look after her and order a taxi. Also, even though the meals are quick and you could be in and out of there in 45mins, they don't mind if you sit around and chat for as long as you like - you don't feel pressured to vacate the seats. read more

We love this Wags in Camden as it's slightly hidden and not as manic as some of the other central London branches. Service here is always good and your food is served within minutes, plus the prices are kind on the wallet. For a Coeliac or anyone else who has to dine gluten free it's a mixed bag. Very little on the menu is gluten free e.g. most starters contain gluten (often due to soy sauce marinades or how they are cooked). However, if you can ascertain what ingredient makes the starter a no go often they'll serve it minus that for you eg the Yakitori chicken skewers minus the sauce. Not quite the same but a good compromise. They seem happy for you to bring your own Gluten Free soy sauce so a little forward planning never goes amiss. They do have an allergen folder so you can discover which dishes are GF. Most of the noodle dishes are a no-go, plus some other mains are off the menu for Coeliacs due to how they are cooked (cross contamination). Our favourite is the gluten free coconut soup. Each Wags is a franchise so always ask to see their allergy menu. We've found they vary. There is limited choices for Coeliacs and occassional errors so it's not great for Coeliac Newbies. Don't expect the staff to have a great gluten free understanding or to be factually correct as we came across allergy options for Coeliacs that did include and had to write to Head Office to get them amended. Our top tip is: order unlimited green tea with all main courses. It's lovely and you'll feel very pure for not diving into alcoholic drinks. Sadly there is no GF beer on offer here. Yet Wags is a great pit stop for cheap healthy food on the go with friends. This branch is one our favourites a it is so Central and easy to get to whilst being spacious inside. Go because there's very few places you can eat Asian style gluten free food (apart from Thai). So if you're craving a fix this is well worth a trip. Prepare: to do your homework online first and then quizz the waiters well when there to avoid being glutened. read more

It sometimes gets really busy. Before going check out their website as they tend to have 2for1 promotions quiet often there. I don't recommend rice dishes as they're sometimes very dry and you get 3 prawn for a massive bowl of rice. Very good noodles though and I really like their fresh juices such as carrot and apple or carrot and orange It has a canteen feel to it with the long benches, which get slightly annoying at moments when you have a stranger right next to you. They do takeaway as well and have some oriental beers such as asahi and tiger. read more

Wagamama was formerly one of my favorite restaurant chains in London. Then, I started noticing that the plate portions were reduced and dishes were hardly filling. I typically would order the chicken katsu curry, which does get two stars for flavor and appetizing menu selection. But, the last time I ordered this dish, I was disappointed when a mound of sticky white rice was covering the cheap portion of fried chicken strips with a limp salad to top it all off. I felt skimped for sure and decided that I would no longer be a customer of this chain. The end! read more
