When I called for an appointment for my dog who was very sick, unfortunately, the vets were on vacation. However, the lady on the phone was very kind and prioritized the health of my pup first. Since there was no vet available and my pup was very sick, she referred me to a place to help my pup get the proper medical treatment needed. I sincerely appreciate Waggie Pet Zone because this interaction showed me that they truly care about the health of our pets, rather than money. I took my puppy there for a physical and I was treated very well. I asked normal questions and was met with condescending tone as if I was dumb. These questions included a best guest to the puppies age and I was left feeling dumb. They claimed he had the deadliest illness for pups when he only had 2 of 7 symptoms. They treated him well and my dog thankfully survived and is doing incredibly well. The prices weren't outrageous but rather great, I just felt belittled and I tough skin. read more

Always have good experiences with vet, playcare, and boarding. The front desk staff remembers our two dogs names even though we are not frequent flyers which is nice. Only complaint is that they are not consistent with vaccines. We'll take our dogs to an appointment then get an update two weeks later that they need another vaccine. read more

My puppy has been attending the kinderpuppy pre-school classes for the past two weeks. The staff is great and my puppy has already made so many friends. It's a one hour session where all the puppies get to run around and socialize with each other while the humans ask the instructor any questions about puppyhood and training. You get some great information about potty training, crate training, and other behavioral tips. Kinderpuppy classes are also FREE for puppies under 14 weeks! I can't wait for my puppy to be able to start k9 kindergarten. read more

I just found out that the veterinarians here understand and support the raw diet, which my pup is on. This gives the veterinarians 5 stars in my book, and I am glad to know that there are some in College Station who have educated themselves in nutrition farther than the average vet does. As soon as my puppy plan at Banfield is over (it's contractual) I will be placing the wellness of my dog in the hands of these capable vets. read more

Aggie Pet Zone seems to be a pretty busy place. I'm guessing this is because there aren't that many other options, people don't want to board at vets, or there are a lot of rich citizens in BCS. Aggie Pet Zone will charge you for every second that they can. I'm surprised their rates aren't per minute. To board your dog for 1 day, 4pm to 4pm, they count it as a day and a half. The much more exclusive boarder I used in Austin feed my dog, provided bedding, playtime, and video monitoring. They would have charged me 1 day for that time period, not 1.5 days. Over Thanksgiving break, we boarded our two dogs, knowing we'd be charged holiday rates for Thanksgiving Day. When we got the bill we had been charged holiday rates for Thanksgiving Day, the day after, and ALL of Thanksgiving weekend, adding somewhere around $50-60 to the original estimate. It cost well into the upper $200s to board 2 dogs for 3 days (they shared a run). There are no special services; it's not doggy daycare oriented dog boarding, they don't provide food, and the staff isn't the friendliest in the world. This community is filled with income-challenged college students that must find boarding on occasion, and we do not need to be charged exorbitant rates for a barely satisfactory service. read more

I trust few places with my dog because he is the closest thing I will have to children for many years to come. I fully trust APZ with my dog though and here's why. My dog was a rescue and didn't have the greatest social skills with other big dogs before meeting Shannon and the staff at APZ. They have helped him overcome his fear of new places and big dogs (his exposure was mostly to toy breeds). He gets plenty of exercise at play care that he wouldn't otherwise get on my busy days. It's also made him a better dog at the local dog park. I now trust him off-leash at the dog park with dogs he might've previously freaked out about. I can honestly say my dog enjoys going to APZ. He refuses to get out of the car at the vet and it's a major task to get him inside. At APZ though, he can't wait for me to open the door and let him out. He sometimes bolts to the door before I can leash him. That to me says he's comfortable and happy there. That's why I don't mind driving all the way out to Rock Prairie from out towards Tabor. Any premier service comes with a price tag, but if it means my dog is in a clean and safe environment he enjoys so be it. APZ is great. I especially love how flexible they are with reserving a play care day (as a graduate student, my schedule changes frequently). They welcome new people and pets all the time. Go check them out and ask for a tour. You won't be disappointed. read more

Owner came and picked up their dog only to find out that their dog picked up kennel cough from Waggie Pet Zone. Owner called to talk to manager but was told by the young girl who answered the phone that she will "tell the manager". Hopefully no other dogs picked up kennel cough. Poor cleanliness is what caused this! I will never recommend WPZ to anyone again! read more

I really enjoyed taking my morkie to the k9 kindergarten class and look forward to taking their other obedience courses. Chris does a great job as a trainer and they like using a positive reinforcement mentality. If anything going to their puppy play times is a great chance for puppies to get some socialization! read more

We've boarded our dogs at Aggie Pet Zone multiple times. They do a great job. The dogs come back happy and clean. APZ provides food, bedding and playtime. They use Canidae for the dog food which is what we feed our pups at home. I would highly recommend APZ. read more

I recently boarded my 1-year-old doberman shepard at this facility. I was going on vacation for the holiday for about a week, and because of the duration of the vacation, I wanted to make sure she got really good care. In the end, I'm really disappointed and feel misled. This is a fine boarding facility overall, but I rated them harshly because of their price and because they aren't nearly as special as they advertise themselves to be. They didn't meet expectations, and they do not give the dogs nearly as much exercise as you would think based on their website. At the end of the day, this facility is extremely overpriced for the services they provide. Their website emphasizes how much play and exercise the dogs get, and they even have a play care zone and doggie daycare. Since I have a large, hyper breed, the main reason I selected this facility was because I wanted my dog to get plenty of exercise and not spend the entire time at the facility confined to a small area bored and alone. Another huge positive is that they take the dogs out 6 times a day, and they are allowed to play 3 of those times. The latest time they are let out is around 9-10pm, which is a huge deal because at a lot of facilities, the latest time the dogs are let out will be around 6pm. I called well in advance of booking my boarding dates to ask questions and confirm that the dogs get plenty of exercise. Here's the problem. The day I arrived to drop off my dog, I was informed that while the dogs are let out 6 times a day and to play 3 of those times, each outing is only 10-15 minutes. At that time, it was too late to cancel my reservation (I had already paid the deposit and was on my way to the airport). I don't know what most people think of when they think of doggie daycare, but my idea of doggie daycare is that the dog will spend a substantial part of the day outside during supervised play. Otherwise, your dog might as well be crated at home. I asked them if my dog could join the doggie daycare group during the day so she could exercise, and they told me it was the same thing. They get 3 play outings for 10-15 minutes even in "daycare". My vet will do the same thing for my dog for $15/day. This place doesn't really seem to do anything special that any other boarding facility doesn't do as well, other than letter your dog out later in the evening. That's fine and all, but not worth more than double what other facilities charge. I was paying about $38/day for a special resort type treatment just so my dog would be well cared for, but she still spent more than 22 hours/day bored and alone in a run. I feel extremely ripped off and misled. Additionally, this is the only facility that has ever required me to sign a waiver in the event my dog is injured, and it is the only facility that has ever required me to pay a deposit. ALSO they charge "per day" and not "per night" so you are always charged for a day more than most other places will charge you. I had hoped this would be my primary boarding location, but I guess I am still searching for someone in the BCS area who will actually exercise my dog while I am out of town. read more

We love it here! The staff is very caring and available! They take the time when you pick up to talk to you about your pets stay! They really know your animal and take the time to answer your questions! Every time we pick up our dog he is happy, excited, and calm! The areas are really clean and kept well! I have had my dog boarded here, I get her nails trimmed here, and I've had her in playcare here. Obviously, I keep coming back for a reason. My dog is extremely difficult when getting her nails trimmed, but the staff here try so incredibly hard to get it done as quickly and efficiently as possible. I love this place and wouldn't dream of taking my furry best friend anywhere else. Edit: I used to love this place. Yesterday, I had a very uncomfortable interaction with one of the techs that tried to tell me what was best for my dog. Normally, I love advice, but she was rude about it and was persistently telling me that I was incorrect. I have plenty of animal care specialists in my family and as friends. Through the collection of advice for my dog, I have created the best plan of care for my best friend. I'm disappointed by my experience recently, But I will be going back once more to see if it was just a fluke. read more

I won't ever use Waggie Pet Zone again to board any of my pets. I boarded my cat there recently and they fed her half the amount of food that I instructed them to. They misinterpreted my instructions, but none of their trained staff, including a manager, thought to question the amount they were giving her - which was WAY less than what an adult cat should be fed. She wound up having stomach/bowel issues for a week and half afterward. Her vet said she was stressed from the change in diet. read more

I brought my Labrador retriever here for two years while I was attending Texas A&M. She was boarded and attended playcare at Waggie Pet Zone. She loved every minute of going to daycare and would always come home exhausted. To me, this was the best thing to have her tired after a long day of playing. I loved the fact they they were essentially a "cage free" facility. My lab loved going and always knew where we were going every time we got in the car. Affordable and well worth every penny for my pup during the two years we went here! read more

We've taken our dogs to Waggie Pet Zone for several years with no complaints. My wife and I are the kind of "pet parents" that were very wary of leaving our babies at a strange place. Learning that they took the pets out for recreation several times a day and they took the time to learn about their specific needs calmed our concerns. When we pull into Waggie Pet Zone, our dogs go nuts and can't wait to go back to their little suites. This tells us all we need to know and rests our concerns and we can enjoy our trips away from home knowing our pets are happy, having fun and are safe. read more

I boarded my dog for two nights and was told there were no problems when I picked him up. I noticed a problem when I put my dog in the truck. The smell was so bad I had to bathe my dog as soon as I got home. When I contacted Waggie Pet Zone, they told me they checked his room and noticed he had peed. They apologized for sending him home smelly and offered a free voucher for a bath. I don't know if I'll ever use it. How long was my dog sitting/laying in pee? How could they NOT have noticed if they were checking on him? read more

I contacted this establishment about training for my dog on three separate occasions (2 phone calls and even physically showing up) and not once has the trainer gotten back to me. I understand this may be a busy place but that kind of customer service is unacceptable. read more

I dropped my dog off on Saturday night and picked him up Sunday afternoon, because we were going out of town for Easter. It was $100 for the overnight due to holiday prices. I supplied his own food, treat and toys. When dropping him off the customer service was great the young lady was cheerful and lead me to believe my dog would be well taken care of. When I picked him up the next day he was soaked in urine and was sticky and his collar was soaked and stained. On the car ride home we noticed that he reeked of stale urine. Upon getting him home it took multiple rinses in the bath to get him clean. I called their office after we took care of my dog, and they responded that they had no idea how he was so dirty and offered no reassurance that this has not happened before and wouldn't happen again. This was Easter weekend and the mistreatment of my dog may have been to the short working hours, however I am upset that they allowed an animal(not just my pet) to lay in his own urine over the course of a weekend, and their lack of oversight and care with the animals. We were referred to Waggie Pet Zone by another border who was fully booked, and I will not return to Waggie Pet Zone again. read more

We have been coming here for 3 years now. We came for the convenience, but stayed for the excellence! I have been taking my dog here since he was a 3 month old puppy and he simply LOVES going. His tail wags like crazy when we pull in to the parking lot. The staff is phenomenal--always friendly, helpful, and truly love their jobs! Dr. Mikeska (both of them!!) have gone above and beyond to make our fraidy-cat pup feel at ease at every appointment. The puppy play care is such a helpful and wonderful thing to offer for appointment days for those of us who aren't able to take off work for the appointments! I truly cannot say enough great things about Waggie Pet Zone. I am going to be beyond sad when I leave College Station and have to find a new vet because whoever we choose next will have BIG shoes to fill! read more

I had previously removed my review because I was asked too. We had previously boarded our dogs here with no issue. However the last time we boarded our dogs, our lab came back with a knot and a scab on her head. Also the dogs supplies we brought we "misplaced" or as we had been told, given to someone else. I don't see how as I am sure no one else had a bag like it. Although we got some minor compensation for missing items, I was more mad about the fact they could not explain how our dog got a big knot or scab. They had no idea how it happened because "they can't" watch them at all hours of the day as they have other things to do and it's possible she had it before we boarded her. I always, always look over and check the dogs before we had boarded them and I know my animals and she did not have that on her head before we boarded her. We took her to the vet and said she was ok but had to watch for any side effects. I would not ever board my dogs here again. read more

I cannot express how disrespected I was here earlier today. My girlfriend and I took our dog in for a temperament assessment to be boarded. They took him in the room and let some other dogs in. The dogs barked at him and seemed to play well with him except one dog who bum rushed him and kept hitting him and forcing him onto the ground. Then the technician had the gall to come and tell me that he can't be boarded because of how much he "runs around". This is absolutely horrible to say you don't want to provide day care and play for a dog normally playing. What do you expect? All the dogs to be comatose and just able to cash a paycheck for a bunch of dogs that just lay in the corner all day? I felt personally disrespected by this business and looking into it am seeing a lot of other negative reviews about their dogs getting hurt and sick when coming here. I urge you to find other options around College Station due to the horrible standards here. read more

My dog is a huge fan of daycare and loves to play, which is why when we moved to College Station we looked for a place for her to play. We figured that Aggie Pet Zone looked like one of the surest bets around, with a nice big playroom and a green canine friendly yard (easy to clean). We took our dog in for her temperament test and returned 3 and half hours later to find that her lying on the floor whining, we asked if she had a good afternoon and were told that she was stellar but didn't really play. It wasn't until we got to the car that we realized something wasn't right. We put our dog in the back of the car and started our drive home, as we did so, she began shaking like a leaf! When we got home, she continued shaking, and while petting her she would scream in pain from one area on her back. She cowered in the corner, and hid in the bathroom, not wanting to be touched. We called our vet and he told us to give her some pain killers she had from a previous surgery and bring her by in the morning. She was seen and we were told that while there was no damage to her spine, she seemed to have experienced some kind of trauma. They prescribed her two weeks of pain killer and muscle relaxers, it wasn't until today (two days later) that she started acting like her self again! I don't know what happened at Aggie Pet Zone, but they certainly won't tell me. read more

My husband and I are from out of town and we decided to board our dog for 2 nights at Waggie Pet Zone for a wedding after hearing good reviews on them. I had called once to check on her and was told that she had a heart by her name that indicated that she was playing well with other dogs. When we went to pick up our pup, I didn't notice until we drove off that she had several patches of fur missing on and around her face. I called Waggie Pet Zone to find out what happened and the manager called me the next day and told me she would look into it. Later that day, I was called by the manager again and she mentioned that she could not pinpoint where our dog would've received those injuries. These injuries should have been documented and I should have been notified. Although we received many apologies, the manager at Waggie Pet Zone made no effort to make it right. So I paid $70 for boarding only for my dog to come back with missing patches of fur on her face that are completely noticeable even today. I will not use Waggie Pet Zone again and recommend you look elsewhere. read more

I will NEVER take my dog back here! I stood at the counter for 5 min explaining how I did not want my dogs hair cut any more than 1/2 an inch that was the biggest and most important thing to me he's supposed to be fluffy i clearing wrote I did not want him cut much at all I simply wanted his face cleaned up and a short trim. When I picked him up I literally cryed! They had shaved my dog! Ive never been so mad. My dog was also very sketchy and scared for days after I brought him home. Before I took him he was the most entergetic puppy I'd ever seen and when I brought him home he was not the same dog. I will never again take my dog to aggie pet zone read more

On two occasions, we left our cat while we made trips to the east coast. She was well cared for on both occasions. We know that they played with her. When we picked her up both times, we were surprised at the reasonable cost for such a long time. Our cat was calm, clean, and happy. The staff was friendly and helpful. Kenneled my dog over Easter. He was to be bathed and fed the treats and food that we brought. Picked him up Sunday. No bath, canned food not opened, and treats not given. When I asked why, I was told they were too busy to give him a bath and they did not know why the food that we brought was not opened and the treats not given. Spoke with a Manager and they said they did not have any answers and did not seem to concerned. I would not recommend this facility. read more

THANK YOU WAGGIE PET ZONE, We have had "Charlie" for almost two years. During that time we have had him professionally groomed twice, he is a cross Maltese/poodle from the Animal Shelter. We live in the country and Charlie is like a magnet and picks up every burr and sticker in his path. We were very unhappy with the grooming Charlie received so just started trimming the best we could to keep the burrs and hair acceptable. He was pretty ruff looking from his last hair style at home, I think he was embarrassed to go on walks in his unstylish condition. Charlie received the BEST grooming this past weekend and we love the way he looks and he is ready to hit the door to show off his new look. Shannon was very helpful with additional information for grooming nails, diet, health, and training, without a doubt I think "Charlie" was treated like a KING.
