Dr. Brittany was very vague and not very thorough or she would have found gingivitis and a bad tooth at our annual. Within 2-3 weeks my cats tooth blew up and it could have been prevented in my opinion. (I worked in the dental field and gingivitis can be seen early). After two visits, I just saw a lack of customer service and lack of care over all at this clinic. I ended up at a place in CS. I just was not overly impressed with Boonville. Maybe another dr would have been better... not sure but even the front desk could have been better with service and communication upon entering and exiting. read more

We recently moved back to BCS from San Antonio and had to find a vet relatively close to home that our 'pup' and we would have a great experience with. We chose BAH for their proximity to our house and the ratings. We were not disappointed. The staff was very welcoming, the doctor and tech were wonderful, and our pup loved everyone. I've not been there in years, actually, since we moved away from the area and my daughter took Willie with her to school in San Marcos. But I'll never forget when they saved my toy poodle, Willie. The short version is Willie was losing a dogfight, and they had to put over 180 sutures/staples while fighting infection. He was in their hospital over 2 weeks. The story is....We lived out in the country on 30 acres, and normally when Willie was outside, he hung around us. But one day, while I was working in my garden, he quietly left my side without my noticing it. He got the notion to go check out the new neighbor dogs he'd heard barking. and walked all the way up our winding drive through yaupon and oaks to the gate of our property (about 250 yards). 3 good sized curr hounds who were bound to their property with shock collars and a low electric wire around the perimeter must have seemed like new playmates to Willie. I was alerted that Willie was no longer to me when I heard the dogs barking wildly and Willie's shrieks of pain and terror! I ran as fast as I could towards him and as I rounded the bend I saw Willie's head in one dog's mouth, one had his butt/tail/hind legs. The third was in the middle gnashing away at Willie's belly while the other two seemed to be pulling in opposite directions. Those dogs had a good method for dealing with prey (or any dumb toy poodles that came to visit). I was propelled by emotion to save my dog, (as just a lick of common sense would've been to find a safer way - at least grab a big stick)! Instead, I never stopped (or slowed down) running towards Willie. I charged into the pack scooping Willie in my arms in the same move, ran towards the wire with all I had and leapt over it... leaving 3 very disappointed and angry curr hounds barking over the boundary line. I kept running, looking over my shoulder to make sure we were safe. That's when I noticed Willie had bitten all the way through both of my thumbs, and still had one in his mouth. But he was covered in blood, so I kept running all the way to the cabin and burst into my husband's home office, where he was working that day, thank goodness. He yelled for our daughter to grab some towels, and we carefully pried Willie's teeth off my thumb while holding his snout so he wouldn't try to bite again. Willie's eyes were wild in fear and he was disoriented - like he didn't know we were his family, the good guys. Gently, we wrapped him in towels, and covered his eyes. I then handed him to my daughter, and helped her get him in a firm, safe and cozy position - hoping to slow the blood streaming out of every wound. They sped off to Boonville Animal Hospital. And I drove myself to my doctor for treatment.... I had mummy hands for 2 weeks (healed just in time for Willie's return home and continued recuperation). With wounds as severe as Willie's, he was touch and go. I'm surprised he survived the deep tears in his gut that exposed his intestines. He looked like a 3D jigsaw puzzle with jagged scars clamped together by 180+ sutures and staples. But he made it, and eventually he got his spunk back (and mischievous compulsion to run away, but we were "on to" him and closely monitored him from that point on). Thank goodness Willie had excellent, dedicated, round the clock care by BAH, and we had another twelve years of fun with him! read more

We recently moved to the area and after doing lots of research Boonville Animal Hospital was at the top of the list. We got a puppy in February and I was looking for the best and WE GOT IT!!!! They are super caring and remember our names and greet us like family every time! Now....for the boarding services...I can't express how awesome they treat our baby! Rachel was kind enough to send me pics of our little puppy (on more than one occasion) being spoiled and "smelling" new things around the place. LOVE LOVE LOVE this animal hospital. I brought my cat Oliver to be looked at by Dr. Glade and it was the best experience at a vet office since coming to College Station. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and we were in an exam room very quickly. Dr. Glade and his assistant were kind and patient with Oliver and let me stay in the room while he was examined. They asked lots of questions and were able to diagnose Oliver's problem in less than 30 minutes. And at a very reasonable price too! I can't say enough good things about Dr. Lipsey. If you are shopping around for vets, stop right now and go to this one. Not only are their prices the best in town, they really spend a lot of time with you and your pet making sure everything is taken care of and all your questions are answered. Dr. Lipsey is SO sweet and really cares about your pet. They have no problem giving you a couple freebies (putting a little topical on dry skin, for instance) and you don't have to worry about unreasonable test fees or those sneaky "waste disposal"-type fees. They always love seeing my little schnoodle and they give her special treats (mmmm cheese!) while getting her shots, she doesn't even notice them! One night my pup swallowed a tack that I was trying to get away from her, and I was panicked. I called the office (they have an after-hours phone line for emergencies) and they got my number telling me someone would call me back. Dr. Lipsey called me back from what I believe was her home! She calmed me down and told me to feed my dog a piece of bread so it would cushion the tack and pass through safely. She told me to watch her the next few days for signs of lethargy or sickness that might indicate an abdominal puncture, but no such things occurred. My dog passed the tack (I assume, though I didn't sift) and was completely normal. I was totally floored that she had taken the time to call me and give me smart, sensible advice rather than ordering a surgical procedure (much worse than a little tack!). I have since moved to California, otherwise I would still be taking my dog to see the lovely people at Boonville. They will be missed dearly. Thank you Dr. Lypsey!! UPDATE: As mentioned in my previous review, I had moved to California. My dog got into some chocolate, and I was panicked. I did what any modern American would do and immediately Googled it. All signs pointed to it not being a lethal dose, but I wanted to be sure, so I called my Cali vet. Rather than tell me if she had eaten a lethal amount or not, they asked if I could bring her in ($50 office visit charge, right off the bat) so they could do some blood tests (another $50), possibly give her something to induce vomiting (probably another $30) and give her some meds (another $40) to see how that went. I asked again and again if they could just tell me if she had eaten a lethal dose or not. They wouldn't tell me and instead told me to call poison control. REALLY?? Shouldn't you know these things? So I called Boonville. Dr. Lipsey once again pulled through for me; she calmed my nerves, told me my dog would be fine and not to induce vomiting because it could cause more damage than good. She told me to keep an eye on my dog, but that her only symptom would probably be hyperactivity for a day. My dog was perfectly fine, and I saved almost $200 of unnecessary stuff. This place is Bryan's best kept secret for pet owners. We have been going to Boonville Animal Hospital for about 4 years now, and I am so thankful to have them as my vet. We've mostly seen Drs. Lipsey and Glade, and both are very compassionate, knowledgeable and helpful. The vet techs and other staff are also always very friendly and kind. You can tell that everyone there cares about the animals and their owners. I don't mind that the office is out in the country a bit; it's absolutely worth the beautiful drive and nicer than having to drive through town in my opinion. They have helped me several times over the phone to decide whether my pets needed to come in to the office when something was wrong with them, and very often they didn't need to, which saved me some money. Which brings up another point: Their prices are very reasonable, and they will work with you on payments if you can't afford it all up front. You get a discount on the office visit fee if you're getting vaccinations, and they send reminders when your pets are due for a visit, which is great because I can never remember when each of my 4 pets needs more shots. They also don't pressure or guilty trip you into anything. If you're looking for a vet for a new pet, unhappy with your current vet, or even just not thrilled with your current vet, give Boonville a try. You won't be disappointed! We have taken our cat here twice since moving to College Station off of a recommendation from a friend with many cats, a dog, and horses. They have been very gently with our cat, and very helpful. They even helped out cat through a painful tooth extraction. The techs and the vets there are friendly and extremely helpful. We even had to call one of the main vets there once well after hours, and it resulted in a helpful conversation that let us sleep a little bit better that night (our cat decided to eat something that it should not have). A little out of the way, but gives them impression and personability of a family doctor but for you animal, something they deserve to. read more

This is the best vet we have ever been to! We moved to College Station in 2010 and Boonville has been taking care of our animals since then. They are attentive and very nice. They have taken care of both our dogs since they were puppies, in addition to our two cats. They are always willing to field our phone questions so that we aren't always rushing in over nothing, which is great. One top of all that, they are affordable, which is something we have never experienced at any of our prior vets in Austin. I moved to College Station recently with my dog, and after a lot of asking around and research (on Yelp) I finally decided to go to Boonville, and I couldn't be happier. I have a 75 pound dog that is a bundle of cuteness and emotions! I really wanted to go somewhere like our previous vet that connected with their 'patients' instead of just treating and being done. Both of the vets here are excellent! They are attentive and caring. It turns out that my dog has a 'problem' with his anal glands and doesn't like anyone to mess with it, causing them to have to sedate him to take care of it! They felt really bad about it but it was fine. They ended up giving me some cheap anxiety meds to give him before next time so it would be cheaper for me. They will also find the best and least expensive route in which to care for him, too-which is really excellent! The general vet appointment cost is pretty inexpensive, as well. They call to check up on your pet after appointments, too. This is definitely worth going to if you're a real animal person! With mounds of options in Aggieland, I highly recommend this vet! read more

I'm not sure what is going on here but there is a very high turn over of veterinarians. We have trusted Boonville with our pets for years but lately have seen several very good vets leave. Dr. Barling, Dr. Lipsey, Dr. Paradowski, and another one I can't remember her name. I need more consistency with my pets care. Nothing against the male vets there but my dog does better with females. We lost our 10 year old Corgi a week and a half ago to a previously unknown tumor that started hemorrhaging. We got a new Golden Retriever puppy a few days ago. Our puppy's wellness visit was scheduled three days later at our FORMER vet. On the way to the vet, our puppy started vomiting and became lethargic. The FORMER vet dismissed these symptoms. Later that evening, the puppies condition continued to decline. The next day, I showed up unannounced at Boonville Animal Hospital at 7:15am. I had never used them before. I explained our situation. They agreed to see our puppy right away. The tests came back positive for Parvo. They immediately started treatment. The next day, our puppy was ready to come home. Not only was the care provided and customer service top notch A+++, the fact that the vet agreed to see us first thing without ever having been there before is PRICELESS. We wer fortunate our puppy survived this horrible virus. My review is not based our puppy's favorable prognosis, but rather the customer service. Thank you Dr. Glade and staff. We had a very sick dog and dr Glade took care of him for over a week in the hospital there. We were expecting to have to pay over 1000 dollars but the bills was less then 500. Our dog had a very rare disorder and had only about a 1/3 chance of living. But they made him well enough to come back home and spend another week with us. One night he got really sick and could barely breath and was in constant pain so we decided to have him put down. We called the after hours number and dr Lipsey called us back we were going to bring him the next morning. She told us that she could not sleep knowing our dog was suffering and offered for us to come in that night. I thank her so much for that and not making our dog suffer anymore. She was great even cried with us and let me hold him in my arms while he got the shots. You could not ask for a better group of people to take care of your animals. read more
