"OK, what's that tap right there?" "Uh.....(reads tap)....says it's a wheat ale." Sounds good. I'll have a pint o' that, please. I had heard that this place had good pizza and I was looking forward to a personal/small/similar. Looking at the menu, I see there's only one size. "What size is your pizza?" "We just have the one size." "What size is that?" "Uh...I dunno. It's....its a large." "Okay, how big? This big? THIS big?" Shrugs. I ordered some wings. Bartender starts practicing cornhole. My beer runs out. I wait five full minutes, then walk over and ask if I might have another beer. The guy throws one more beanbag and then walks back behind the bar. I ask what my other beer choices are and after he names five kinds and stops talking, I figure that's all. I order. The wings came and they were okay. The extra hot sauce had zero heat, but whatever. Myself and a friend, with 4 more behind us, walked in, and were promptly told they were closed. Odd, since Yelp, Google, and the hours posted on their door indicated they were open until 4am. Over the weekend, another friend and I came in and had a great time with a large group of, who I assumed were, locals, singing karaoke and drinking the night away. The following Monday, I attempted again, to visit the bar. This time at approximately 9:45pm. I was greeted by 2 people telling me the bar the bar was closed. Again, I had at least 3 other people planning to join me but, apparently, posted business hours and eager customers aren't important to this establishment.

It's quirky AF, but isn't that EXACTLY what you want? One part legend, another lore, add in all the best parts of a dive like colorful locals, super friendly staff, and cheap drinks, plus nostalgic and vintage vibes, and an enigmatic but eventually welcoming and warm owner, and you've got the Buck Inn. When you arrive, be sure to glance just past the bar and see the sign for "Lizard Xing" and look for the attack lizards inside. If you peek outside in the backyard you may see a casket. Not sure what it's for, and maybe don't ask, but certainly check it out and look around for other fun! Lastly, make sure you look above the last chair of the bar, next to the patio door. They call it the "Asshole Corner" and it was super fun to sit a friend down their and snap a pic without them knowing! We drove over the mountain on back roads in SXS UTVs to get here, and the effort was well rewarded. I'm not saying this is a destination BUT if dives are your thing, then make it one!

Rance, the bartender/general manager of the entire property (they have rustic cabins for rent and a campground (also rustic) for your lodging needs) knows a metric ton of history of the property (40 acres) and its multiple owners. Originally, it was a stopover for horse ridden and drawn wagons back in the day headed east and west. If only the walks could talk!?!?! They have events that are becoming quite popular including Red-neck Olympics which have multiple games including frozen pea spitting contests. They are completely off grid, utilizing solar and generators for power needs. This is a hidden gem that you need to check off the box with. Cheers friends!!

The issues, one the shoes were very worn( not to big of a deal) The toilet smelled tremendously bad. The toilet smelled like fresh baby kaka sprinkled with baby powder. Barf. The balls are a mess, they are not organized at all and you can't even see the weight on 80 percent of them. I think cause most people here have their own ball. For novice folks like me it took a really long time to find a ball to use. The lanes were nice however they have a sensor that gives you a foul. There is no way to turn this off and the floors are slippery. It's super annoying. It makes your fun no big deal time into a RULES time. It's not a big deal if you play all the time I suppose but if you're just trying to have a good time it's obnoxious. Why?? Because they take away your points!! Going over the line equals no points.Boo. The bar menu is non existent and we left early. Don't usually rate bowling alleys however I'm used to cool ones or something- this one isn't cool.
